Chapter 7

15 years later

Hiccup's P.O.V.

I twisted my dagger on the table with the map, my heart as slow as that of a hibernating dragon. "She's no where in the Archipelago," I sigh as Heather walks into the Great Hall.

"Hiccup, you can't think like that," she told me softly.

"Then how should I think? With false enthusiasm?" I ask.

"Well maybe for a few minutes, because Mala wishes to speak with you," she tells me.

"She's here?" I ask.

"Yes," she says.

"Okay. I'll be out in a minute," I say. She left and I shook my head to clear it before walking after her. "Mala, what can we help you with?" I ask as I reach the docks.

"Hiccup. We come to tell you that we have located Tawny," she tells me, stopping my heart. Avechi came to my side and put her hand on my shoulder.

"Where?" my voice was barely audible.

"On Berk. They have defeated the dragons, that over took it, and moved back to the original island," she told us and Avechi and I sighed in completely ill-timed happiness before she continued. "I'm afraid she looked rather at peace. She seemed to be adjusted to life as a dragon murderer," she said and I resisted the urge to draw inferno and kill the messenger.

"Father, she can't possibly be happy there," Avechi told me, "You have to go after her, please!" I took her hand and lowered it from my shoulder.

"She is at peace, Avechi. She's been trained to kill, if she finds out her father is a dragon rider, and chief of a dragon riding village...she'll just resent me anyway. Lets save her the turmoil and just leave her where she is," I say quietly before going up to the cliff as my heart shatters across the ocean. I sat next to Sage's grave and saw Avechi mount Silverblade before flying off, Torgna and Shalu on her tail. They were all full-fledged People of the Wings, so they had enough experience to go off the island. But if I knew where they were going, I would have had Toothless shoot them down without hesitation.

Avechi's P.O.V.

"Avechi, I really think we should listen to the chief on this one!" Torgna called.

"She's my sister! I'm just going to see if she remembers me and if she does, I'm going to let her choose where to go," I call over the wind.

"You heard what Mala said!" Shalu told me. "She's at peace! Don't ruin it by introducing yourself as her sister she didn't know existed!"

"She's not at peace! I know it, she's a dragon rider at heart! She just needs someone to push her in the right direction," I tell them.

"Avechi, she's not going to believe you. She's been living with dragon killers for over half her life!" Torgna says.

"But she was born a Flame. No amount of training can change that!" I snap.

3 hours later

"Is that it?" Torgna asks, as we landed on a sea stack, pointing to an island in the distance.

"I'll check it out," Shalu says before she shot into the sky on her Monstrous Nightmare.

"Be careful!" I order as Torgna and I dismounted.

"So, what are you going to do if she doesn't believe you?" he asks.

"I'm going to hold my head up, hide my broken heart, and set Silverblade on the village," I answer casually.

"No, you won't do that. Nope," he says, shaking his head.

"Then I'll just set Silverblad on him," I say.

"Avechi, nothing with Silverblade unless it's a get away. Please?" he said slowly.

"Okay, Torgna," I grumble before Shalu landed again.

"She's there. She's in the arena," she said.

"Okay, wish me luck," I sigh before mounting Silverblade. He flew to the forest and landed in a clearing before I dismounted. "Stay here, buddy," I said before walking toward the village. Once I got there, I saw with relief that there were merchants at the docks. I walked through the village, praying that the people of Berk thought I was just with one of the boats. I made my way to the arena before watching the class from the top of the ring, leaning on the railing.

There was a brown haired girl with dazzling blue eyes in the center of the ring, people her age surrounding her as she readied for attack. Moving as one, the group of people ran toward the girl with battle cries. She smirked and fought them off with ease before they came at her one by one. A blonde guy ran toward her with his ax raise and she used her sword to redirect his weapon. As her blade held his to the ground, she round kicked him to the other side of the arena. Then, two other people came at her with maces and she ducked the swipes before kicking their legs out from under them. The girl took one of the maces and hit the people on their heads before a loud clanking sounded, making everyone freeze before flipping to their feet and into a formatted line. My eyes didn't leave the girl as a black haired man, I recognized as Snotlout, came into the ring.

"That was pathetic," he says as he walks down the line of young vikings, "How can one girl take down an entire class?!"

"Easy, she supposedly has Haddock blood," a blonde guy says.

"Say that again, Gergon, I dare you," the girl said threateningly.

"Hey! Be proud to be a Haddock," Snotlout snapped at her.

"I will when the Haddock name becomes something to live up to," she answers.

"Still, be proud to be related to me," Snotlout says.

"You're a Jorgenson..." she said confusedly.

"I'm Stoick's nephew. You're his granddaughter," he tells her, "Now get back in line, Plasma!"

"I never left the line!" she snaps.

"Then leave the line and get back in it!" he screams. She rolled her eyes before walking to the exit of the ring. "Back in line, now!" he snapped. She didn't respond in any way as she left the ring. He was about to storm after her but the blond guy, who was addressed as Gergon, spoke.

"Oh, let her leave. Stoick needs to realize that there are more qualified people in this class to kill a dragon," he said before Snotlout looked at him.

"We need her to learn our ways!" he hissed, "If she doesn't..." I stopped listening as I saw Plasma storming away from the arena, her sword strapped to her back. I took a deep breath before jogging after her.

"Plasma!" I called as I started gaining on her. She turned around and got ready to draw her blade as she saw me.

"Yes...?" she asked as she slowly grabbed the handle of her sword.

"I just want to ask you a few questions," I say as I reach her. She lowered her hand with a thoughtful look in her eye.

"Walk and talk," she ordered before turning and continuing on her way with me at her side.

"R-Really? You're just going to let me talk to you? I could be planning on killing you," I said.

"I know how to defend myself. What are your questions?" she asked. I paused before shaking my head to clear it.

"Do you have a sister?" I asked.

"No," she answered.

"Who was your father?"

"No one will tell me," she answered.

"What's your last name?" I asked desperately.

"Haddock," she said before looking at me, "Why are you asking me these questions?"

"Do you kill dragons?" She answered with a laugh.

"I'm a coward! Cowards don't kill dragons; they work in the forge! You silly." I grab her shoulders and start ushering her toward the forest, noting that she didn't try to fight. Is she a peace keeper? I asked myself as I walked toward the clearing I left Silverblade in. "Where are you taking me?" she asked.

"I'm going to show you something," I said before we reached the clearing, Plasma freezing as she saw my dragon.

"A Razorwhip..." she breathed after a pause.

"Are you scared?" I asked.

"Not of death. I welcome it," she answered as she stared my dragon in the eye. I looked at her to see that her gaze was challenging.

"He's not going to hurt you, Plasma," I told her before she looked at me.

"You're a rider, huh?"

"I am. And you have riding blood in your viens," I said.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Your father, is the dragon master of the Archipelago. You don't kill dragons because it's not in your nature," I told her.

"I don't fight dragons because I don't have the guts," she said.

"You said you don't fear death. That means you would have the guts to fight and win against dragons," I said, "But you don't because you know there's another side to them that these people just don't see."

"Okay, then why did the dragon master abandon me?" she asked before I paused.

"Is that what these people have told you?" I asked.

"Yeah. He killed my mother, left me in the cove, and flew off on his offspring of lightning and death. On top of that, he set the village aflame."

"No, no, Plasma," I breathed, "No, he helped Berk 15 years ago, they repaid him by stealing you and changing your name from Tawny."

"Why would they do that? Wouldn't they know I wouldn't be able to learn how to kill a dragon?" she asked.

"You have learned how to kill dragons. What they're trying to do is get you to use the skills they've built into you," I tell her.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"My name is Avechi. And I can show you more than I can tell you," I told her, "All you have to do is come with me." She paused, arms crossed thoughtfully as she seemed to consider it.

"How do you know this stuff?" she asked.

"Lets just say...you and I share a smilar relation to the dragon master," I said. She paused again.

"Are you trying to get me to think we're sisters?" she asked.

"We are sisters," I told her. She slowly shook her head.

"I don't have any siblings. And if I did, why didn't Stoick take them as well?"

"Because I would have been able to fight back. He took one that was young, weak, vulnerable, and related to the master. He took one that wouldn't remember her old life," I said. Suddenly, a loud, angry voice shouted her name. She looked over her shoulder before back at me. "We have to leave now," I urged her. She shook her head.

"No. You have to leave now. I have to distract him until you're gone," she said before turning to run into the trees.

"Tawny!" I said before she looked at me over her shoulder. I gave her a pleading look.

"Tell my father I said hi," she said before running into the undergrowth.
