"Okay everyone, here's my plan." Chrom was already instructing everyone what to do in this next battle, even though it was six in the morning. These Risen didn't really care how early it was! "I'll work alongside Sumia today."

"Yay, thank you Chrom." Sumia smiled.

"Lissa, you're with Fredrick." Chrom told his younger sister.

"Oh great, this is going to be super serious and no fun! Can't I go with (y/n)?" Lissa pouted.

"No Lissa, there are reasons for these pair-ups. Sully, you're with Virion."

Sully sighed.

"Sorry Chrom, but I doubt I could fight if I was getting hit on throughout each battle." Sully told Chrom.

"Fine, work with Stahl then." Chrom also sighed.

"Done, I'll work with Stahl!"

"Hey, Sully can work with who SHE wants but not me?! No fair!" Lissa sulked.

Chrom ignored Lissa and turned to you.

"Which means that (y/n), you have to work with Lon'qu."

Your froze, shaking all over. Not only were you having to work with a male, but you had to work with the scariest male of them all.

Lon'qu was also shocked.

"I refuse... If I work with her, we'll never defeat a single enemy!" Lon'qu told Chrom.

"Lon'qu, you need to. If not, then I am afraid I cannot involve either of you in a single battle from then on."

Lon'qu sighed, then looked at Chrom.

"Fine, I'll work with her. But don't blame me if we don't get anything done!" Lon'qu said, looking away from you.

With that, Lon'qu walked over to you, but still keeping a few feet between from you.

"Hmph..." He glared at you, scaring you. Why did you have to work with the scariest guy out if all of them?

"Okay Shepherds, let's fight!" Chrom shouted.

Everyone charged at the Risen, striking them down.

You and Lon'qu were fighting an archer before your best tome broke. You had already struck the Risen and now, it was the Risen's turn to hit you.

The Risen had aimed the arrow to directly hit your arm and, with nowhere to escape, you had to do your best to miss it.

You saw the Risen let go of the arrow as it came hurtling towards you. This was it, you would lose too much health to carry on and then... It would be over. You'd be dead. Your entire life flashed before your eyes, your body frozen in fear before you heard a cry.

"Woman, get down!" Lon'qu shouted at you before he noticed how you were stricken in fear. "No... I won't let another woman die!"

Right before the arrow hit your arm, you felt something heavy push you over. It was too heavy to be the arrow, which you realised hadn't hit you. You saw Lon'qu attack and kill the archer before you realised what had happened: Lon'qu had pushed you away from the arrow, saving you. With all the panic you had got from that short scenario, you passed out.

"Woman!" A gruff voice shouted at you as you felt someone nudge you. "Don't die on me now."

You opened an eye to see Lon'qu looking down at you.

"Hmph, that's good. You're alive." Lon'qu stated, expressing no emotion.

"W-why are you watching over m-me?" You stuttered, confused as to why Lon'qu was making sure you were okay.

He didn't answer.

You slowly got up and brushed yourself off.

"(Y/N)!!!" You heard Chrom shout. "Don't worry Lissa, (y/n)'s okay."

"Oh good, I was so worried about you, (y/n). Don't faint like that again!" Lissa chuckled. "Still, I'm pleased that you're okay."

"Same here, Lissa. I didn't think I'd live though..." You sighed and looked up at Lon'qu, giving him a small smile. "T-thank you..."

Lon'qu gave you a small smile in return.

"It's fine... I-I'm glad you're safe..." He replied.

"Aw~" Lissa chuckled.

Lon'qu shot her a cold glare, scaring Lissa.

"AHH! Don't do that!"

Chrom chuckled.

"We'd better set up our tents." He walked off to his tent, as did Lissa.

You were about to walk off to yours before you heard Lon'qu.

"We should, um, work together tomorrow..." He said, hoping you'd agree.

"O-okay, I'll see you tomorrow then. Bye!" You waved and walked to your tent.

"Heh... She's kinda sweet." Lon'qu said to himself before walking to his tent, ready to team up with you again tomorrow.
