•Master Plan•

Rushing into the locker rooms I hurriedly took off my jersey.

My wound had reopened slightly and was bleeding.

"Olivia! What happened?"

"It's okay, I'm okay. We need to go back."

Looking through the mirror, I realised Isaac wasn't even listening. Instead, he was staring at my back.

"Olivia, what happened?" He stepped closer as I turned to face him.

"We need to go, Lahey."

"You're bleeding. The only place you need to go is the hospital."

Picking up my jersey, I tore a part of it and made a makeshift tourniquet around my torso.

"That'll have to do for now. Like I said, I've had way worse. Now, where's Scott?"

"The locker room. But..."

Before he could protest I opened the door and dragged him to the boys' locker room.

***

"... If he answers his phone, if he answers his email, if any of you see him..."

"We'll call you." Isaac reassured the sheriff.

"Look, he's probably hurt freaked out from all the attention or something."

"We'll find him Sheriff."

The sheriff gave us a small smile and walked away just as the coach walked towards us.

"McCall. We need you on the team, okay? You know I can't put you on the field next season if you don't get your grades up."

"Yeah, I know coach."

"I mean, I know I yell a lot, but it's not like I hate you guys. Well, I kind of hate Greenberg, but you know, that's different. It's Greenberg. I'm just saying we... I need you on team. All three of you. Scott, get your grades back up and you two, stop running off to who knows where to do who know what."

He lectured us and for the first time there was a hint of concern in his voice.

As he walked away, Isaac and I made sure that the locker room was empty while Scott broke into Stiles' locker.

"You're gonna find him by scent?" Isaac asked as Scott rummaged through the locker.

"Yeah, we both are."

"But how come you get his shirt and I get a shoe?" Isaac complained, making me laugh.

"Don't worry, his shirt smells worse." I patted his arm before turning to Scott to see him looking at Derek Hale.

"We need to talk."

I was about to greet him when another person walked in. Someone who should be six feet under.

Peter Hale.

"What the hell is this?" Scott questioned as I stood in front of the two betas, gun pointed at Peter Hale.

"You know, I thought the same thing when I saw you talking to Gerard at the sheriff's station." Derek countered, making me turn to Scott.

"You what?!"

"Okay, hold on. He, he threatened to kill my mom. And I had to get close to him. What was I supposed to do?" Scott defended.

"He what?! Geez, what happened while I was gone?" I mumbled.

"I'm gonna go with Scott on this one. Have you seen his mom?" Peter spoke up again.

"Shut up!" All of us yelled.

"Who is he?" Isaac asked.

"Yeah, and who is she?" Peter pointed to me.

"He's Peter, Derek's uncle. Little while back, he tried to kill us all, and then we set him on fire and Derek slashed his throat."

"Wait, Peter as in the Peter? The one..." Isaac trailed off, looking at me uncertainly.

"Yes. The one who killed my mom." I confirmed.

"Now, I don't remember killing anyone's... Oh. Oh! You're Kate's daughter." As realisation dawned on his face, he stepped back.

"That's good to know." Isaac put a hand on my shoulder as I attempted to move.

"How is he alive?" Scott finally asked the question I was dying to ask.

"Look, the short version is, he knows how to stop Jackson. Maybe how to save him." Derek answered, without actually answering.

"Well, that's very helpful, except Jackson's dead."

"What?"

"Yeah, Jackson's dead. It just happened on the field."

"Okay, why is no one taking this as good news?"

"Because, if Jackson is dead, it didn't just happen. Gerard wanted it to happen."

"But why?"

"Well, that's exactly what we need to figure out. And something tells me the window of opportunity is closing." Peter walked towards us.

"Step back. Now. There's no way in hell we're working with you " I glared at the former alpha.

"You don't have that choice, sweetheart. This is bigger than me killing your mom."

"Scott, you can't seriously trust him."

"I don't. But we do need him. Right now, he knows more than all of us."

"No. There has to be another way. I don't trust him."

"Trust me, Olivia."

I looked between Scott and Peter once again before holstering my gun.

"If this comes to bite you in the ass, I'm not helping."

***

"They found Stiles." Scott sighed as we entered the burnt Hale house.

"Look, I told you, I looked everywhere."

"You didn't look here." Peter rummaged through the broken staircase and took out an old laptop.

"What is that, a book?"

"It's a laptop." I corrected.

"You're smart, like your mother." Peter commented.

"Talk about her again and I'll rip your tongue out and feed it to you." I threatened.

"A few days after I got out of the coma, I transferred everything that we had. Fortunately, the Argents aren't the only ones that keep records." Peter walked away and we followed. Scott walked outside as his phone rang.

Something wasn't right. I still didn't know how Peter is alive.

No news from back home. No way of knowing what the hell was going on.

On top of everything, I didn't even know if Allison's okay or not. She wasn't at the game. Nobody had heard from her or seen her.

"We need to go." Scott informed as soon as he joined the rest of us.

"Wait, go where?"

"The hospital. My mom just called. There's something wrong with Jackson."

***

"What's happening to him?"

We sneaked in to the morgue where Jackson's body was kept. Mrs McCall opened the bag and we saw that his body was completely covered with a transparent jelly like substance.

"I thought that you were gonna tell me. Is it bad?" Mrs McCall was freaking out and it was clear from her voice.

"It looks almost like he's cocooning himself." I replied, taking a closer look.

"It doesn't look good."

I was about to touch him when he moved. I was immediately pulled back. The four of us stood back as Scott asked his mom to close the bag.

She scoffed before stepping towards Jackson. She was almost done closing it when Jackson suddenly hissed.

We all stepped back as Scott kept asking his mom to zip the bag.

Mrs McCall panicked as she tried closing the bag while Jackson kept hissing. I got my gun out just in case something happened while we all kept panicking.

But nothing happened. Mrs McCall closed the bag and we all stepped towards her.

"What do we do now?" Isaac asked, turning to Scott.

"Call Derek." I suggested and he dialed the alpha.

"Scott, bring him to us." Derek ordered after Scott explained to him.

"I'm not sure if we have time for that."

As they talked, the bag kept moving. It really was like a cocoon. Only, way more terrifying and dangerous.

"We have to go. They'll meet us halfway."

"Olivia, you should..." Isaac started but knowing what he was going to say, I stopped him with a stern look.

The three of us carried him out to the parking lot while Mrs McCall stayed behind.

As we neared my car, Scott's hands slipped and he dropped his side of the bag. The three of us looked at each other and I glared at him.

"Seriously?"

Right as he was about to pick Jackson up again a car drove behind us, the headlights directed at our eyes, making Isaac and I drop the bag as well.

Soon the car stopped and out stepped Chris Argent.

Oh great.

"You're alone."

"More than you know."

"What do you want?" Scott asked.

"We don't have much in common, Scott. But at the moment, we have a common enemy."

"That's why we're trying to get him out of here." Scott explained.

"I didn't mean Jackson."

What? That's the only enemy he had, other than Derek, of course.

"Gerard has twisted his way into Allison's head the same way he did with Kate and Olivia." Chris met my eyes for a second before looking back at Scott.

"And I'm losing her. And I know you're losing her too. Both of you." He looked at the two of us.

"You're right. So can you trust me to fix this?"

Chris nodded.

"Then can you let us go?" Scott asked.

"No. My car's faster."

While the two betas put Jackson in the back of Argent's car, the man himself, stood beside me.

"Olivia, I'm so sorry I didn't do anything for you before. You were right. You were right from the beginning. I only realised it when it was my own daughter. I was selfish. I should've treated you like my own. Because you are. You really are. Olivia, I love you."

"It's okay. Better late than never, right?" I smiled as he wrapped me in a hug. A real one. Not like the one when I first moved in. For a while I felt like I was six again.

A time when the supernatural didn't exist for me. When I stayed with uncle Chris, aunt Victoria and my favourite cousin, Allison.

The time when I made the best memories.

***

We pulled into an abandoned construction site where the Hales were supposed to meet us.

"I think he stopped moving." Isaac started as we got out of the car.

"Where's Derek?"

Before any of us could answer, we turned to see Derek running towards us on four legs. He did a front flip and landed right in front of me as I rolled my eyes.

His eyes went to Argent.

"I'm here for Jackson. Not you." Chris clarified.

"Somehow, I don't find that very comforting." Derek replied.

"He's with us." I assured, stepping towards Argent.

"Get him inside."

We followed Derek's order and got Jackson inside the abandoned building.

"Where are Peter and Lydia?" I asked but got no reply.

Instead, Derek stood on top the bag and slowly started opening it.

Something wasn't right.

"Whoa, hold on a second. You said you knew how to save him." Scott argued.

"We're past that."

"What about-"

"Think about it, Scott. Gerard controls him now. He's turned Jackson into his own personal guard dog. And he set all of this in motion so that Jackson could get even bigger and more powerful." Derek exclaimed.

That didn't sound like Gerard.

"No. No, he wouldn't do that. If Jackson's a dog, he's turning rabid, and my father wouldn't let a rabid dog live." Argent spoke my mind.

"Of course not." We all turned to see the man in question standing mere feet away from us.

"Anything that dangerous, that out of control, is better off dead. Right, Olivia?" Gerard looked directly at me, making me question if he was talking about Jackson or me.

Knowing him, probably both.

Derek was about to kill Jackson but he opened his eyes, dug his claws in to Derek, picked him up and threw him far away while we all looked on.

Argent and I aimed our guns at Jackson.

"Well done to the last, Scott. Like the concerned friend you are, you brought Jackson to Derek to save him. You just didn't realize that you were also bringing Derek to me." Gerard stepped towards us as he spoke. Right as he finished, two arrows whistled past Scott's head and straight into Isaac's chest and he fell back.

I aimed my gun towards behind Gerard to see Allison running away.

Scott carried Isaac away as Argent and I aimed at Jackson.

Unlike Scott, I didn't have a problem with killing Jackson.

As we shot at him, Jackson screeched, hiding behind Argent's car. As he came back out, he was fully transformed.

Argent aimed again but the kanima pulled the gun away from him with its tail. He ran and I stood between him and the Kanima, firing at it, effectively stopping his advances.

But soon I was out of ammo and had to step back as it jumped down from the car and slowly moved towards me.

Argent whistled, catching its attention, giving me enough time to reload my hand gun.

The kanima threw argent away and turned back towards me as I fired again. Hitting it repeatedly in its chest while also keeping my distance.

The kanima grabbed the gun with its tail, throwing it away. Taking out my foldspear, I got ready for a close combat.

But Derek intervened, along with Isaac and Scott, all fully transformed.

Derek punched it twice before being thrown away and Scott jumped on the kanima's back at the same time as Isaac clawed it. Jackson threw them both away and I quickly pierced him through the stomach, stopping him from going after Scott.

The kanima hissed in pain before grabbing the spear and throwing me on a wall with its tail.

Derek and Scott repeatedly attacked it but they were fighting a losing war. Our attacks had no effect.

I saw as Isaac got back up to help but was stopped by Allison.

I pulled myself up, running towards them as Allison kept stabbing him with her daggers. At first he tried defending but then resorted to offense. Failing in both against an enraged Allison.

Allison was about to stab him in the back but I tackled her, grabbing both her hands, allowing Isaac to get away.

"What are you doing?" I yelled but she didn't reply. It didn't feel like Allison.

"Get out of my way." She sneered, headbutting me. I let go of her momentarily before grabbing her arm and twisting it behind her.

She yelled in pain and I stopped. I couldn't hurt her.

But she apparently could. Turning back, she slashed my left arm with her daggers making me scream in pain. She raised her dagger again but I kicked it out of her hands before kicking her away from me.

As she reached for her daggers again, I looked down to see my abdomen bleeding.

I turned back to Allison as Scott yelled but it was too late. The kanima had already knocked the daggers out of her hand and had her neck in its grasp.

I stood back up with my own daggers in hand, ready to strike but Gerard spoke up, "Not yet, sweetheart."

"What are you doing?" Allison asked, as he walked towards us.

"He's doing what he came here to do." Scott answered.

"Then you know. Also, Olivia, stand down or you know what happens." Gerard smirked as I glared at him. He knew I wouldn't risk Allison's life and I knew he wouldn't hesitate to risk hers, or any of our lives for his benefit.

Having no other choice, I pocketed my daggers, standing down.

"What is he talking about?" Allison asked, panicking.

"It was the night outside the hospital wasn't it? When I threatened your mother. I knew I saw something in your eyes. You could smell it, couldn't you?"

"He's dying." Isaac spoke up. I looked at him, he was back to his normal self. Hurt, but not bleeding anymore.

"I am. I have been for a while now. Unfortunately, science doesn't have a cure for cancer yet. But the supernatural does." He looked at Derek.

Oh.

Oh no.

Allison cried and Gerard glared at her. The kanima instantly choked her.

"Stop!" I yelled at him. Feeling utterly helpless to save my best friend.

"You monster." Argent finally spoke up. His voice was filled with venom.

"Not yet."

"What are you doing?" Allison repeated her questioned but the kanima choked her again.

"Stop, you'll kill her!" I snapped again.

"When it comes to survival, I'd kill my own son!" Gerard yelled at us before turning to Scott, "Scott."

We all turned to look at the beta who slowly moved towards Derek, who was still incapacitated.

He grabbed Derek by his neck and pulled him on his knees and towards Gerard.

"Scott, don't. You know he's gonna kill me right after. He'll be an alpha." Derek groaned. Incapable of doing anything as Scott dragged him towards his doom.

"That's true. But I think he already knows that, don't you, Scott?" Gerard smiled.

I looked at Scott who looked back at me. He knew what I was thinking.

Betrayal.

But why? Why would he do that?

"He knows that the ultimate prize is Allison. Do this small task for me, and they can be together. You are the only piece that doesn't fit, Derek. And in case you haven't learned yet, there is just no competing with young love." Gerard explained.

"He's lying. You know he is. He will kill all of us!" I snarled, looking directly at Gerard.

"Maybe not all of you, but definitely you. I raised you to obey my every command. And what did you do? You betrayed me! I gave you everything you could've ever asked for and you turned on me!" Gerard yelled.

"You made me a monster!"

He scoffed, taking off his jacket and walking towards Derek and Scott.

Derek kept begging him while Scott kept apologizing. I looked back at Allison to see her shaking her head softly at Scott.

Scott forced open Derek's mouth as Gerard placed his arm in-between and closed it.

Scott let go of Derek and Gerard gave a victorious smile, holding up his arm.

Everyone looked on in horror, disgust and confusion as a black liquid poured out of the bite and down his arm.

Gerard himself was late to notice it, but once he did, his face contorted in rage.

"What is this?" What did you do?"

Scott turned to Derek, then to me before turning back to Gerard, "Everyone said Gerard always had a plan. I had a plan too."

Gerard took out his pills, crushing them in his hands, only to realise that they were filled with mountain ash.

His eyes and nose slowly started bleeding and he fell on his knees, gasping and choking.

Suddenly a fountain of black blood spewed out of his mouth. I recoiled in disgust and fell down beside Isaac.

Gerard fell to the ground, trembling.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Derek asked to Scott.

"Because you might be an alpha, but you're not mine." The beta answered.

Gerard spit out more blood before speaking again, "Kill them! Kill them all!"

Then he was down. Either dead or knocked out.

Hopefully dead.

The kanima slowly let go of Allison and she elbowed it's face, creating distance between herself and the creature.

As it stood there, a jeep rammed into it, making it roar.

Stiles.

And Lydia.

"Did I get him?" Stiles asked, but before anyone could answer him, the kanima climbed the front of the jeep, hissing at the two inside.

The two ran out of the car screaming. But while Stiles ran up to Scott, Lydia stopped in front of the kanima, holding up a key.

Something flashed in his eyes and he slowly turned back to human, stepping away from Lydia.

He spread his arms, closing his eyes. Accepting his fate.

Derek ran up to him and dug his claws while Peter appeared from behind him. The two werewolves lifted Jackson up with their claws as he choked

Lydia caught him as he fell to the ground. Their voices were too low for me to hear. Lydia sobbed, holding Jackson's lifeless body.

I felt two hands on my shoulder, taking away some of pain.

"Thank you." I whispered to the blue eyes beta, slowly resting my head on his chest.

I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. They felt too heavy.

Slowly, everything went quiet and black.
