Chapter Twenty-Five

Blake flicks through the wedding folder while I stake a seat beside him. He reaches the last page and smiles at the to-do list. Why he is smiling? I know the list is only small but I'm ready for the honeymoon! I understand why people have a honeymoon after their wedding.

"Do you want me to complete the list?" He raises an eyebrow.

"Really, are you sure?"

He nods and I brightly smile.

"I can do everything but the dress fitting." He laughs.

"Damn, that's the one I need you to do the most." I pout.

"If you want to fill in for me, sure! I have to round the guys up to get our tuxes sorted out. Ben is so fuss and Jude complains about everything. Kyle keeps saying he should have been a bridesmaid because he can't stand the others."

"You know what, I'll take the dress fitting." I tug on a smile.

"It's a hard task but I welcome the distraction."

"Call if you need help or have any questions."

"I promise to call if I need help. If you don't answer, I'll ring our mothers."

"You should call them first then." I giggle.

Blake takes my hand and kisses the back of it. I cup his cheek and stroke his jawline. I don't think I'll ever get used to the idea of calling him my husband.

"I don't want to ruin the mood but I think we should talk about Tori."

My stomach churns at the sound of her name. I slide my breakfast away and turn in my chair. Blake pouts while I attempt to remain neutral. I wish we didn't have to talk about her Damn me for believing that people can change.

"Yeah, I guess we should."

I know London deserves to see her mother, and she has no idea what Tori is doing, but sometimes, the worst part of me wishes she'd just leave. Things would be easier without her. I know I'm a bad person for thinking this.

"Since Tori is no longer in the wedding party, I'll remove Jude to keep the numbers even."

"What? No, you can't do that! Jude is your brother." I gasp.

Blake shrugs which makes my jaw drop.

"He's still going to be at the wedding. If anything, he'll be relieved. Jude hates large crowds and he'll be able to sit throughout the wedding."

"Now you're making me jealous." I giggle. "Are you sure, you can remove Kyle because he's my best friend."

"There's no way Kyle would and I wouldn't want him to either. He's been a huge part of your life and I want him to be up there with us. Jude is still going to be with us."

"You can change your mind last minute."

"I won't change my mind." He smiles.

Blake leans over and pinches my chin between his fingers. His thumb strokes my skin and he glows with happiness. Butterflies flutter in my stomach as we inch closer. Our lips press together and I sigh with content.

"I hope our wedding day comes quickly because I can't wait anymore."

I pat his knee and giggle.

"Soon, baby, soon."

Blake removes the list from the folder and leaves it on the table. His hand brushes over my shoulder as he wanders to our bedroom.

I peer at the list and internally grumble at the dot point for vows. I have no idea what to write. I'm terrible with speeches and I don't want to make a fool of myself.

I'm afraid of saying the wrong thing and Blake leaves which is hilarious because he's never left me. So why am I so afraid?

"Are you okay?" Blake asks as he walks into the kitchen.

I snap upright and lean against the back of the chair.

"Yes, there's nothing wrong." I tug on a smile but I don't know how convincing it is.

Blake grabs a drink bottle from the fridge and wanders over. He shoves the list into his back pocket and kisses my head.

"Enjoy your day, good luck with the dress fitting and I'll see you later today."

"Have fun!"

I take his hand and tug him back. Surprise flashes through his green eyes until I lean up and pucker my lips. He quickly kisses me and then races down the hallway.

When the front door closes, I lean against the chair and sigh. I should make a start on the vows but I have no idea where to start.

With a sigh, I bite into my cold toast and moan with annoyance.

If I start writing words, magic might hit me and it'll turn into something I can actually use. We have to start somewhere, right?

My stomach churns and my heart beats a little quicker. I toss my breakfast into the bin and put the plate into the sink. On the way to the table, I collect a notepad and pen from the counter. I plonk on the chair and place the items on the table.

I open to a fresh page and sigh. How do people write books when a blank page looks intimidating? Perhaps they are magical beings?

When nothing comes to mind, I press my forehead against the table and grumble. I close my eyes and wrack my brain for something, anything. I love Blake, so why is finding the words to say that so damn hard?

I straighten up and glare at the page. Perhaps it's this notepad. Maybe I need something else to inspire me? I could find pretty paper and a colourful pen but even then, I think I'd draw a flower on it.

My phone buzzes and I sigh with relief. I shove the pen and notepad into my bag and race towards the door. I never thought I'd be excited for a dress fitting.

* * * * *

Charlotte and Mum are standing outside the bridal shop when I arrive. Mum opens the door and we shuffle inside. The lady behind the counter moves her glasses to the top of her head and smiles.

"Welcome back, Ms Greyson and family. Heather is almost ready for you."

"Awesome, thank you!"

"Are you nervous about the big day?"

"Hm, just a little!" I admit. "I just want everything to be perfect."

"Oh my, I'm sure it'll be the definition of perfection!"

"Thanks." I blush.

"Ms. Greyson, we're ready for you." Heather says as she steps out of another room.

I glance at the roof and take a deep breath.

"Please fit," I mutter under my breath.

We pile into the medium sized room which is lined with mirrors. Mum and Charlotte take a seat while Heather and I enter the change room. Excitement bubbles through me at the sight of my dress hanging on the wall.

I can't wait until Blake sees me walking down the aisle. He's going to lose his mind.

Heather removes the dress from the hanger whilst I strip out of my clothes. I carefully step into the dress and she does the back up. She moves the curtain to the side and I stride out of the room.

Mum and Charlotte instantly fawn at the sight of me. Thank goodness I have these two otherwise I might spiral into panicwhich is easy for me.

"You look beautiful! I think you should have been a model with your features," Heather says.

Tears stream down Mum's cheeks faster than she can brush them away.

"I'll make sure you have waterproof mascara." I laugh.

"You're so beautiful and grown up! If Blake doesn't fall onto his arse when he sees you, I'll be furious with him!"

"Don't worry, I'll knock him down if he doesn't." Charlotte laughs.

I stand on the block and Heather fans the dress out. She looks over the dress once more to ensure everything is perfect. I turn from side to side and I bite my lower lip to stop myself from smiling too much.

"Is there any changes you want?"

"No, this is perfect, thank you."

I brush a stray tear away and smile.

This wedding is going to be amazing and I need it to come faster!
