A/N - Hey guys! So quick update on my mental health. I've been feeling better lately and thankfully, I felt good enough to write this chapter, although it's rather short, but I'm trying to hang in there. I really missed Naruto's beautiful, amazing personality so I wanted to write a chapter displaying how cute he is lol I'm still not like officially back but I'll probably still try to get myself to release chapters... PROBABLY!

Also, if you don't know already, I posted yesterday that I'm looking for BETA READERS for my NEW story, BEAUTIFULLY ENOUGH, where a female burn victim finds solace in music and posts a video of her singing online, managing to get a lovely comment from a famous YouTube channel by a cute guy from her school and she decides that she'd like... to find a way to thank him, which possibly leads to...?

At age two, Diamond Holmes suffered major burns after having tipped over a pot of boiling hot water on herself. After numerous surgeries, she struggled with her self image due to the scarring and frightened reactions to her from other children. To her, it was as if she were cursed. Through all her struggles, her greatest escape from the pain was music — singing.

One day, she gathers the courage to post her talent online and as she suspected, hate comments begin to flood her video. However, one comment from a popular singing channel catches her eye, complimenting her on her voice, and when she sees their face, she realizes it was from the most popular, handsome boy in her school: Nicholas Carter

Bewildered, she contemplates on what she should do. Reply back? Or maybe... thank him personally?

Is Nicholas as sweet as he appeared online or will her burns scare him away... just like the rest?

BONUS CHAPTER #42: Kiba's Hurtful Words

"She's just so beautiful..." Naruto had his cheek in his palm with his elbow on a wooden bench table as he stared at Nia, who was sitting at another table with their female friends, a bit far from them.

"I just don't understand what you see in this girl, man," Kiba groaned, sitting across from Naruto.

"Sweet Curly Brow is so amazing, ya know..."

"Ugly as hell," Kiba rolled his eyes.

Naruto's serene expression flipped into anger.

"What the hell did you say?!" He barked.

"Just look at her, Naruto. Seriously, she's ugly as hell and fat! You know damn well you can do better than that!"

"Why do you care so much about my feelings for her?! Not everything is about looks you know! I think Curly Brow has a beautiful soul and I think she's pretty because of that!"

"Are you blind?! Did you lose your confidence?! There's no reason you should be liking a girl like her!  You're not even a bad looking guy and you're in good shape! Nia's hideous and she's always freaking out of breath so easily! Naruto, have some self worth and go for a girl who actually looks good and can keep up with you!"

"How about you shut your damn mouth and quit trash talking my sweetheart?! She means everything to me!"

Kiba frowned.

"Damn it! You never listen! Nia's not good for you!"

"You're just basing that off because of her looks! Who the hell are you to tell someone they shouldn't be with a person they love just because of how their lover looks?! Mind your own damn business, ya know!"

"Ugh! I just hate that girl so much! I swear I want someone to punch her."

Naruto's nose flared and he gritted his teeth.

"You know what, Kiba?! People like you make me SICK! There's always more to a person than just how they look, what they have, or just anything else. Nia has a heart, too! She has feelings! And for you to just constantly always try to tear down her self esteem because of her looks truly DISGUSTS me!"

"DUDE!" Kiba slammed his hands on the table and stood up. "SHE'S LITERALLY UGLY AS FUCK! WHO THE HELL CARES IF SHE HAS FEELINGS?! WHY ARE YOU SO HUNG UP ON HER?! YOU'RE LITERALLY LOWERING YOUR VALUE AS A MAN BY BEING WITH THAT PIG! FIND SOMEONE HOTTER!"

Naruto's face became red with fury and he rose out of his seat, and clutched Kiba's collar with both hands.

"IT'S NOT ABOUT HOW SOMEONE LOOKS, DAMMIT! IT'S ABOUT THEIR HEART, THEIR SOUL! THE WAY THEY CARE AND LOVE YOU! THE WAY THEY'RE ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU!" He hollered, glaring daggers into Kiba's eyes. "GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL THAT I'M IN LOVE WITH NIA AND I THINK SHE'S AN INCREDIBLE, KINDHEARTED, DROP DEAD GORGEOUS WOMAN, YA KNOOOOW!"

"Guys!" Sakura came running over to their table and separated the two. "Come on now, cut it out!"

"Naruto's the one making a big scene!" The Inuzuka spat.

"Tell Kiba to watch his mouth before he catches a rasengan in it!" Naruto threatened.

"Ooo, I'm so scared," Kiba wiggled his fingers.

"You should be, you dog crap eater!"

"WHAT?!"

"You heard me!"

"You're gonna regret those words, Naruto!"

They bickered back and forth until finally...

"Cut it out NOOOOOOW!" Sakura demanded, smashing her fist into the table, breaking it in half.

Kiba's and Naruto's eyes turned into two black dots. They quickly shut themselves up.

"Uzumaki!" Nia came up to Naruto and held onto him. "Baby, are you okay?!"

"Sweet Curly Brow..." Naruto looked down at her.

He then took her hand and led her out of the small restaurant as people watched on.

"Come on, let's go..."

"But honeybun..."

"We need to talk, sweetie..."

So, Naruto would take Nia to a secluded park where they'd sit against a tree, Nia's legs spread to each of Naruto's hips, their faces facing one another.

"Curly Brow, I just can't take him..." Naruto groaned.

"Take who?" Nia questioned.

"Kiba..."

"?"

"He still goes on and on about you and I'm really finding it super difficult not to ram him in his jaw."

Nia lowered her eyes.

"I just don't understand," She mumbled. "Why... does my appearance affect him so much? Why does he hate me so much?"

"It's literally just all because of how you look. It drives me crazy how shallow he is! Pervy Sage LOVES beautiful women but he treats everyone with kindness. You don't have to be attracted to someone but that doesn't give anyone the right to treat that person like garbage, insult them, laugh at them, and treat them like they don't matter, ya know!"

Nia kept her eyes to the ground.

"I just... wish you didn't have to go through this... because of me. I'm making you miserable."

"What?!" Naruto gasped. "No... it's not you, sweetie. It's that jerk of a guy, Kiba. I'm sick and tired of the way he treats and insults you! It makes me so damn mad."

"Yeah, but if I was just beautiful then you-"

"You ARE beautiful!" Naruto was stern.

Hearing this, Nia reddened.

"I'm serious, gorgeous," Naruto cupped her chin and made her gaze at him. "I think you're such a fantastic person and a beauty! I love you for who you are, not what you look like."

"Oh Naruto..." Nia's heart thudded.

"I'm serious, Curly Brow. I'm really in love with you."

Hearing this, Nia smiled to herself. However, thinking of Kiba's words made her heart sink.

"I just wish... that people didn't treat me differently because of my face."

"Some people are just evil when it comes to that. Curly Brow... there's nothing wrong with your face. You're beautiful the way you are,"

"Oh Naruto..." Nia laid her head on the blond's shoulder.

Naruto wrapped his arms around her.

"You're so incredible, sweetie. You love so deeply and you never leave my side. I'm just so happy and lucky that you truly love me for who I am."

Blushing, Nia kissed his cheek.

"I'm just really in love with my hero..." She said.

"Sweet Curly Brow..." Naruto blushed.

"I don't want anyone getting in between our love."

"I don't want that either, ya know."

"My hero's gonna protect me forever..."

"Definitely... he would die trying to defend you."

"I love you, Naruto..." Nia hummed.

"I love you, too, beautiful..." Naruto smiled warmly.

And so, the two stayed there in the other's embrace.
