Chapter XIV: The power that's inside
Hey before we start I would like to mention this AWESOME writer named @xXDiamond_GodXx! He writes amazing stories. My personal recommendation is "Finding A Way" It's really deep and strikes all the right notes. Links are after the chapter.
Steven, Connie, Amethyst, Pearl, and Garnet suddenly appeared in a nearly empty bedroom. It looked more like an old prison cell, only without the bars, sink, and open toilet. All there was in the room was a mattress with a pillow and blanket, and a dresser with a backpack on top. There wasn't even proper flooring, just cold concrete. The walls were cinderblocks and the only light was a single dim light bulb. Steven couldn't believe Robert used to live like this every day. The door (or at least what was left of it) led to a hall of seemingly infinite doors of all shapes and sizes. They split up to find the chaos parasites.
Amethyst checked a door that looked like it led to a kitchen with calendar that had the date "November 16, 2006" on it. It didn't lead to a kitchen, rather it led to Chuck-E-Cheese's. Amethyst tried to find a Mr. or Ms. Jones, but they were nowhere to be seen. Amethyst then looked through the hundreds of children playing games to find a lone, young Robert sitting in front of the animatronic band looking dismally into his empty cup. "You're Robert, right?" she asked as she sat down. Robert nodded his head. "I hear it's a special someone's birthday!!" She said, hoping she was loud enough so an employee heard, but to no avail. Amethyst found some tokens on the floor and gave them to Robert. Robert noticed and promptly hugged Amethyst tightly. "Thank you!!!" he whispered. Robert walked away to play a game and Amethyst walked out of the room.
Meanwhile, Pearl looked in a door that looked like the door to a classroom. It has lots of construction paper hearts in pink and red all over the room. The class appeared to be an elementary school. Taped to every desk was a box for Valentine's Day cards. "Rose would have loved this" Pearl thought. Pearl scanned the classroom and eventually found Robert, sitting humbly at his desk with an empty valentine's box, working on a valentine's card. The card was a heartfelt note to his crush in the class: Jill Andonuts. Then, a sly, shifty-eyed blond-haired kid who was much taller then Robert who approached the desk and snatched the note. "Give it back, Dylan!" Robert whined. "You're gonna have to jump higher!" Dylan laughed, holding the note higher than Robert's reach. Pearl snatched the note from Dylan's hand, as the teacher came out of the bathroom, coughing up smoke. The teacher calmly walked to her desk and placed a cone-shaped hat with the word "DUNCE" in big red letters. The class laughed at Dylan, and Robert gave the note to Jill, who ignored his note. Pearl felt that she could do no more, and she left. When they walked out of the respective doors, the other Gems were waiting on them "Find anything?" Garnet asked. Pearl and Amethyst shook their heads. "Maybe they're not in Robert's memories." Steven suggested. Having no other option, the Gems walked down the seemingly infinite hallway until they came accross a gold statue that looked like this:
Garnet removed the sword, which caused the statue morph into a door and the sword became the key, She put the key in the hole, turned it, and...
