Chapter 9

We took our time walking around town, the boys showing me the different places that they liked to go after work. They told me some stories of the entire B-Project and their memories with the places. We walked around town, seeing different stores and restaurants. They showed me where they liked to hang out after work and even some of the places where they either shot music videos or did photoshoots at. Each place had brought back a memory for each of them. I looked at everything in town, examining it all like I had to memorize everything for a test. I studied the way different buildings either looked or how they were lit up. I studied the signs and the different ways they advertised their business. The streets weren't crowded which made it easier for us to take a tour of everything. The weather was nice, just as Haruhi had said. The sun was out, with a few white clouds drifting across a light blue sky. The air was a bit on the warm side, with a slight breeze that passed through with a chill. Each one of them pointed out different things and told their own story about it. I smiled as I heard the stories and the boys joking around as they remembered each site. Some of the shops made them think of being on tour, which ended up making them laugh to the point where they couldn't breathe. I walked with them in silence, listening to everything they were telling me. I smiled when they joked around with each other, especially when they started to embarrass each other. I chuckled at some of their reactions, which one of the boys ended up pointing it out when I did. It felt a little weird to me, being able to laugh and be around a group like this. Part of it was that I was away too long and got used to being on my own. But in another way, I missed the sound of it and noticed how comforting it was being out with the boys.

We ended the tour by walking through a park that was close to our house. It was a community park with a playground, a tennis and basketball court, sitting benches and a big fountain that stood in the middle of the park. I hung around until they started to do their own things, which made me walk around, taking a little tour of my own. I managed to stay in the park so it was easier for them to find me. I looked at some of the statues around the park and reading something on the history of the park, which got my attention even more. It was interesting to read, the passage sucking me into it even more. It explained the park and how it came to be. It caught my attention for a good few minutes, seeing that it covered a lot. I looked to see a picture of when the park was first built right next to it. It looked a little different, seeing the statues looking brand new. I finished reading everything as I looked back at the fountain. It was bigger than it looked when we first walked into the park. It had a cement animal looking like either a dog or a wolf, standing on a cliff at the top. Little water streams poured out of the bottom of the rock as it neatly fell in the bowl of water below. In the bowl were different coins that people left in. Probably kids making a wish while they played in the park. I looked down to study the coins as I thought to myself silently. I looked up at the fountain again as I went deep into my thoughts, thinking of the many families that took their kids here.

I silently sat on the stone bench behind me, still deep in thought as I watched the waterfall. The trickling sound filled my ears, being the only thing that I heard. I started to think like I did back in my bedroom, but not of the same thing. It made me think about how I ended up at the hotel and that if I called my brothers, I could've avoided it altogether. I leaned back on the bench as I pressed my back against the cement to relax. I heard the boys laughing in the back of me, but I completely ignored it for the moment. I crossed my arms as I leaned back on the bench, taking a deep breath as I stayed silent. I kept hearing the boys yell in the back of me, which made part of me wanting to look back. But the fountain just kept my attention. Each time I wanted to look away from it. It would suck me back into it, making me notice something new to study. I took a deep breath as I completely spaced it, while I heard footsteps becoming louder by the minute. A voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Relaxing over here, isn't it?" it said, which made me look to my left, seeing Yuzuki walking in my direction. "Yeah. It is," I said, as I scooted over, making room for him to sit next to me. I went back to study the fountain in silence. Yuzuki silently sat next to me as he watched the fountain himself.

He turned to me. "Something wrong, Iris?" he asked, which snapped me out of my thoughts. I took a deep breath, as I studied the fountain again. "No, just deep in thought," I said, as Yuzuki pressed his back against the armrest, placing his feet in front of him on the bench. "About?" he asked as I looked at him quickly. "Just letting my mind wander," I said, as I looked back up at the fountain. I listened to the water as it trickled down the fountain quietly. I took a deep breath as I glanced at Yuzuki, seeing him staring at me again. "What?" I asked him. Yuzuki's expression changed from being curious to worry. "Something's bothering you. Tell me," he said, as I took a deep breath. I looked back at the fountain. "Don't worry about it. I'm just going into my negative thoughts again," I said, as Yuzuki took a deep breath. "Iris, don't make me do it," he said, his tone getting serious. I sighed as I slouched on the bench. "Yuzuki, I'm fine," I said. I looked over at him, seeing him giving me the puppy eyes. I dropped my head in embarrassment. "Alright," I said, as Yuzuki smiled. "Works every time," he said, proud of himself.

I smiled at the comment as I looked back at the fountain. "Just thinking of being at the hotel again and what you and Haruhi had said about calling you. You guys were right. Should've told you what was going on," I explained as Yuzuki sighed. "Iris, it's alright. You don't have to let it bug you anymore. You're with us and being taken care of. It's going to be alright," he said, making the conversation positive. I took a deep breath. "Your right. But it still bothers me," I explained. Yuzuki listened in silence. He took a deep breath to relax. "Alright, think of this. What did mom and dad teach us growing up?" he asked as I looked at him. "You got to be more specific. They taught us a lot of things," I explained. Yuzuki nodded in understanding. "Alright, got that right. But what was the thing that mom kept telling us? Especially when Haruhi was being annoying," he asked as I chuckled. "That we need to be close to each other. Especially when we're adults," I said, thinking back to the childhood years. Yuzuki nodded. "Exactly. She's been nailing that into us all the time when we were kids. That's probably why we're still close now," he explained as I looked back at the fountain. I focused on the flow of the water as I thought to myself in silence. "Yuzuki?" I asked, breaking the silence again. "Yeah?" he asked as I took a deep breath to relax. "What do you think mom and dad would tell us now?" I asked, curious about the topic. Yuzuki chuckled. "Well. Mom would've scolded you for not keeping us updated," he said as I chuckled. "Yeah, I would've gotten grounded for that one," I said as Yuzuki chuckled himself. "Yep. Then you'd get a lecture about it," he said as I burst out laughing. "She would've locked me outside with Haruhi and let him annoy me," I said, still chuckling over the conversation.

Yuzuki nodded. "She probably would," he said, as the laughter died down.  I took a deep breath as I pulled my legs up and hugged them for comfort. I turned back to Yuzuki. "Now I understand why she would force me to play with the both of you," I said, as running came up behind us.  Haruhi slammed himself into the back of the bench. "Having a family meeting that I didn't get invited to?" he asked, as I chuckled a bit. Yuzuki turned to him. "No, just talking about what mom and dad would do if they found out about Iris's situation," he explained as Haruhi nodded.  "Oh, alright. Can I just say, dad would've kicked your butt when he found out about the hotel thing," he said with a chuckle.  I dropped my head down as I laughed some more. "He probably would," I said with a sigh.  I looked at the fountain as I took a deep breath. "But, they both would be happy that I moved in with all of you," I explained as Haruhi turned to me. "More like you were forced," he pointed out.  Yuzuki tilted to look at Haruhi better. "Mom and dad would've told us to do it," he chuckled with.  Haruhi nodded. "They probably would," he agreed with.

I cracked a smile as I looked at the fountain again. I sighed to settle myself back down. "They'd be glad to know how it all ended up," I said as Yuzuki nodded. "Mom's probably worrying right now," he said.  I studied the fountain as I watched the water trickle again. The three of us stayed silent, due to not knowing what to talk about. Haruhi jolted as he tapped us both on the shoulder.  I turned to look at him better. "Hey, why don't we plan to visit mom and dad after work," he brought up.  I nodded in agreement. "I'd be up for that. It's been a while since I've got to visit them," I said as Yuzuki looked at me. "When was the last time you went?" he asked as I looked at him. "I was still at home. Been to busy to visit," I said as Yuzuki nodded. "That'll be perfect.  The three of us, unless the rest of B-project would want to go to," he explained. Haruhi nodded. "We'll ask before we leave," he said as we all looked at the fountain. I took a deep breath as I studied the fountain. "I bet mom's worried about us," I said, as Yuzuki turned to me. "She probably is," he agreed with. Haruhi stuck his head in between us. "But we're going to update her on everything when we go visit," he said, as I nodded.  "We have to. I got to complain about Haruhi to her," I said, as Haruhi looked at me. "You really want to go there, little girl?" he asked as I turned to him. "Now you sound like dad," I said, as the three of us laughed.

Walking came behind us as a voice yelled. "You three," it said as we turned around, seeing Thrives walking up to us. I shifted to look at them better as they approached. Yuzuki looked around. "What's up?" he asked as Goushi sighed. "We're gonna head back. It's getting late," he explained as the three of us looked up at the sky, seeing the blue turning into pink. Haruhi took a stretched. "Well, better head home. Got more work tomorrow," he explained. I got up as I got ready for the walk back. Yuzuki looked around. "Hikaru headed back already?" he asked as Yuuta nodded.  "Yeah, he left about twenty minutes ago," he explained. I took a deep breath as I stood up. "Well, better get back. Won't be good if the rest of B-Project starts to get worried," I explained. Haruhi nodded. "Yeah, and who knows what linger around at night," he said, as laughter uproared in front of us. "Trying to scare Iris there?" Kento asked as Haruhi shook his head. "No. But we're in a city," he reminded us.  I chuckled. "I'll be alright," I said as we started to walk home, knowing that we'd be in the dark for half of it.
