chapter one – blue world.

Sage Wolfe had never liked how obvious it was that Hannah liked Mike. It was bordering on obsessive with how much Hannah liked their friend, Beth had told Sage multiple times how Hannah had taken the cheesy realtionship quizzes just to see how much her and Mike were compatible. The entire thing weirded Sage out tremendously but she wouldn't dare say anything, fearing that she could lose her friendship with Josh, Hannah and Beth's older brother, because of it. The entire situation sucked for Sage and she wasn't even apart of it mostly until tonight.

Blackwood Pines had been the home of the Washington Lodge for years and the vacation spot for Sage and her group of friends for the past few years. The group had decided to stay for a couple days to celebrate Hannah's birthday and the first night was when everything went wrong so quickly.

Emily, Mike's girlfriend, had decided that a game of Never Have I Ever with a bottle of rum was the perfect way to celebrate their return to the Washington Lodge and that was when Sage knew that the Hannah and Emily showdown was going to happen whenever they wanted it too or not.

" Never have I ever. . . " Emily smirks leaning her head onto Mike's shoulder as she shares a glance with Jessica, her best friend. " Had a crush on Sage. "

" Come on, Em, " Sage pouts before giggling at the wide-eyed look that Josh gave her. " We'd be hot together, you can't deny it. "

Emily only shakes her head in amusement as she glances around the table. " Come on, guys! The truth will set you free. " That was the trigger for everything to go downhill.

Mike and Josh both quickly down their shots of rum before shrugging as their friends look at them in shock. Josh only grins at Sage, whom had only leaned back in her seat between Mike and Josh while fighting to keep herself from blushing.

" Mike! Really? " Emily shouts as Hannah starts to glare at her brother's best friend in disdain, how could Mike like Sage and not her? Mike shrugs again as Emily shuffles her seat away from him and closer to Jessica.

" It was before we became a thing, Em. " Mike explains as Emily only nods at him. He sighs before pouring himself another shot, knowing that Emily was going to yell at him about this later.

" Well, " Jessica pipes up grinning as she leans over to grab the bottle from infront of Mike. " Let's change the subject! I'll go next. Never have I ever tried to get with my friend's boyfriend. "

Nobody had moved while Emily and Jessica were staring daggers at where Hannah sat inbetween Sam and Beth. " Come on, " Jessica smirks twirling the bottle in her grasp by it's handle, " Nobody? Not even you, Hannah? "

" Yeah, Han. " Emily smiles fakely at the Washington sibling. " Not even you? "

" Han– " Sam speaks up as she places her hand on Hannah's arm, but is quickly cut off by Hannah downing the shot infront of her.

" Well, " Emily smirks as Hannah stares at her blankly. " Who was it, Hannah? "

" Emily, that's not part of the game. " Beth hisses looking at her sister in concern. Hannah Washington was a sensitive person, it was obvious to all of them.

" Yeah, Hannah. " Jessica repeats Emily's previous question, " Who was it? It has to be someone in here. "

" Mike. " Hannah admits quietly as Sam and Beth both sigh in frustration. " It was Mike. "

Emily only shakes her head before pushing her seat back, rather dramatically if you asked Sage, before storming out of the room quickly followed by Jessica and Mike. Matt and Ashley followed soon after, both wanting to see Emily explode at someone that wasn't them.

" Well. . . " Sage stands from her seat, moving to grab the bottle of rum that Jessica had left behind, before looking at Josh and Chris. " I'm not in the mood for more Emily drama and would like to finish this bottle. Are you guys coming? "

Chris nods while grinning, already walking towards the kitchen as Sage turned to look at Josh. Hannah, Beth, and Sam already leaving the room in the opposite direction from Emily. " Come on, Josh! Sam and Beth can worry over Hannah for right now. You can check on her later. "

" Yeah. . . " Josh nods, running a hand through his hair before looking up at Sage. " Lead the way, Wolfe. "

  Drinking themselves into a dreamless sleep was not a good decision and Sage was quickly dreading it. They had found another bottle of alcohol sitting in the kitchen and that was when Sage already started feeling the effects of a hangover coming on.

Josh and Chris had quickly passed out, a quarter into the bottle which had left Sage awake by herself. She held back a yawn, alcohol in a copious amount had always made her feel exhausted, as she heard loud giggling coming towards the kitchen.

" What are you guys doing? " Sage raises an eyebrow at the group of Mike, Emily, and Jessica entering the kitchen with Emily gripping a piece of paper tightly.

" Showing Hannah that Mike would never leave Em' for her! " Jessica explains as her and Emily pick where to leave the piece of paper that Emily was holding.

" Okay. . . " Sage watches her two friends in confusion leading to her not noticing Mike standing behind her until he gently took the bottle of alcohol out of Sage's grasp and placed it to where she couldn't reach. " What the heck, Mike? "

" You've had enough, " Mike shrugs as Sage turns her head to glare at the taller male. " Go to sleep, Sage. "

" Come on, Mike! " Jessica sighs as her and Emily start to leave the kitchen to where everyone waited for them.

" Go to sleep, Wolfie. " Sage grins at Mike's longtime nickname for her since he figured out what her last name was.

" Don't break Hannah's heart too bad, Mike. " Sage mutters as Mike turns to catch up to Emily and Jessica.

Sage finally yawns as she leans her head against the kitchen island before closing her eyes and letting sleep overtake her.

Nobody knew how a harmless prank could do this much damage to a friend group.
