Chapter 30: Missing

Levi's POV

"Levi!" On my way up to the room, I see Hanji frantically looking around. My eyebrows rose slightly, confused on why she was up. The way she was acting... Raven should be asleep... why is she making so much noise? Unless... "Levi! Levi, there you are!"

"Hanji, what's going-."

"They took Raven! I... I didn't know... I'm sorry, Levi! Please... I heard her crying at the last minute-."

"Who took Raven?"

"I don't know who! Levi, they climbed up and down from the balcony-."

Everything turned to nothingness when I ran into the bedroom. The rope that the intruders used was still there, swaying in the wind. In the distance was a small ship. It must've been half an hour when they left. When I was busy trying to send a message to Erwin on the behalf of Hanji, I left Hanji's side... if I was there... Raven...

Turning back, I ran into Keith, seeing him trying to calm Hanji's wails for our lost child. "Keith, how long does it take to chase that ship?"

"We're in the process of getting a ship, but it's going to take an hour or two. By that time, they'll be in the open ocean. They have everywhere and anywhere to go. She's-."

"Don't say it."

Embracing Hanji in my eyes, I tightened my arms around her. I shouldn't be biased, but I believe I know who kidnapped our daughter. The one who's been wanting Ackermans. Wanting to take me away from my home and wanting my bloodline. The innocent infant who is defenseless and helpless...

"Hanji, we'll find her... we'll do everything we can to bring her back home."

"A-Are you going to get onto the ship?"

"As soon as I can, Hanji."

"I'm coming with you-."

"No." I kissed her on her lips, trying to keep my anger bottled up. "No, Hanji, I need you here. If something happens on the ship... if something happens to you... your kingdom will have nothing. They need you. I'm expendable. If I die, you can marry someone else, carry on with your royal bloodline without me. I promise, Hanji, that I will do everything to get Raven back to us."

She shook her head as her fists balled up. "No... no... Levi, promise me you will come back with Raven! I'm not marrying anyone else! I don't want to marry anyone that isn't you! I want our daughter back!"

"And I will bring her back, Hanji. Stay here and rule. I'll look for her."

"Promise me that you'll do your best to bring her back. Promise me that you'll be alive when you do so... promise me that you'll be safe."

"I promise, Hanji, I promise."

"Get on that boat... and bring her back home."

"I will. We're going to Erwin's kingdom first, get some more people and we're going to Christopher's kingdom... and take her back."

"They did what?!" Erwin scowled when I told him about Raven's kidnapping. He shook his head, looking at his parents and then looking at his guards. "And you are sure that King Christopher took her?"

"Who else would kidnap my mother and Raven? He's been after me ever since he was notified of someone with silver eyes in Hanji's kingdom. He told her father about his need to hunt and retrieve every Ackerman. He took Raven when she's the most vulnerable. If we don't find her... Hanji is a wreck..."

Erwin nodded his head, walking down to my side. "Levi, let's go get Raven. You have our full support. Don't worry, Levi, we will get Raven back. We will get them all back. You have my word."
