Chapter 11
____________Your POV_____________
When you woke up, you noticed that everyone was looking at you a bit differently, almost like they were pitying you, and this was making you very uncomfortable.
You walked up to aniki during training, and asked, "Aniki, why does everyone seem a bit different?"
Aniki doesn't say anything at first, but he then said, "Its because I had to explain why you reacted the way you did last night."
You flinched a bit at the memory of the dark and lonely room of the orphanage, but you looked up to aniki, and said, "I see, but could you tell them to not pity me, its bothering me."
Aniki only nodded his head, as you walked away towards the hand to hand combat field.
Once there, you looked around, trying to find someone to spar with.
"Um, Eld, could we t-train together?" You asked hesitantly.
"Uh, sure." He said.
You averted your gaze from his, once you saw the familiar pitiable look he was giving you.
You grit you teeth together, as you got into a fighting stance.
Eld made the first move, and this time, you managed to not use your abilities as you fought back.
He tried to punch your stomach, but he seemed to have hesitated for a moment.
You snapped, you caught his wrist, and flipped him over, causing all the air to be knocked out of his lungs.
"Stop it." You mutter under your breath.
As soon as Eld had caught his breath, he asked, "What was that?"
"That look in your eye, I hate it." You say to him.
"What look?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.
"The look that I'm some pathetic brat that can't even fight back." You say, before walking away.
Leaving a shocked Eld behind.
"Oi brat, where the hell do you think your going?" Levi's voice calls out to you.
You didn't answer him, you just continued to walk.
'If I turn around, he's going to give me the same look as everyone else. I won't be able to handle it.' You think as you grit you teeth together to keep from crying.
"Oi, dammit brat." Levi's voice growls, and as soon as he said this, you felt a hand grab your shoulder, forcing you to turn around.
____________Levi's POV____________
As soon as I turned her around, I was shocked.
Her usual determined shine in her (E/C) eyes is gone.
"Tch, what's wrong, brat?" I ask monotonously.
She merely looks away, almost afraid of meeting my gaze.
"I said, what's wrong?" I hissed.
"Nothing, but could you please leave me alone." She mumbles, still avoiding my gaze.
"Tch, not until you tell me what's wrong, and look me in the eyes when I'm speaking to you brat." I say to her.
"So you what? Give me the same pitiable look as everyone else." She hisses, which causes me to be taken aback by her sudden attitude change.
"What the hell are you going on about?" I say, raising an eyebrow.
"Ever since aniki told everyone about my past, they keep looking at me like I'm a kicked puppy. I hate it. I'm not weak, I'm not weak....I'm not-" She couldn't finish that sentence, as tears start to pour down her face.
'I see. Everyone keeps looking at her like some frail girl, even though she keeps trying to fight back, even though she keeps trying to fight back against this cruel world, where she is alone in having these types of abilities.'
"Tch, stop crying, your making yourself look weak." I say to her.
It takes her a few minutes in order to stop crying, but once she settles down enough to the point that her sobs are mere hiccups, I say, "If you hate people looking at you like some kicked fucking puppy, then change it. Get stronger."
She looks at me for a moment, before something surprising happens.
She lunges at me, and hugs me.
"Thank you!" She shouts, before letting go, and heading back to the training field.
I'm left here, completely stunned at what just happened.
"Tch, stupid brat." I mutter before heading towards the training ground as well, in order to inspect the squad's progress in training.
__________Nassir's POV___________
I saw (F/N) run back to the training fields, but she seemed a lot more cheerful.
I raised an eyebrow, trying to figure out what made her cheer up.
I then saw the midget walk towards the training field not long after.
"Hehehe, looks like someone made (F/N) happy." A very cheerful voice says behind me.
I looked behind me, only to find shitty glasses.
"Tch, what the hell are you on about?" I hiss.
"Oh come now, you surely have to realize that Levi cheered (F/N) up." She says, while chuckling.
I simply click my tounge, as I turn my head back to (F/N).
"You shouldn't worry about her, ya know." Shitty glasses said, while smiling.
"Tch, who said I was worried?" I hiss.
"The look in your eye. Even if you won't admit it aloud, your a bit overprotective of her." The insane woman snickers.
"Whatever, what are even doing here, aren't you suppose to be doing squad leader shit." I say, as I walked to the stables in order to tend to my horse.
"Eh~, don't tell me your scolding me too." Shitty glasses whine.
"Tch, why are you following me?" I hiss, as I picked up speed, trying to escape the damn woman.
"Because, your just like a taller version of shorty." She states, keeping the same pace as me.
"And what does that have anything to do with me?" I hiss, as my eye twitches.
"It's fun to bother shorty." She giggles.
"So you want to try and bother me?" I ask, as a tick mark appears on my forehead.
"Maybe." She says, smiling.
I quickly turn around, startling the insane woman, I then pick her up by the collar of her shirt, and hook it up on a nearby hook that was on the stable, causing her to dangle in mid air by the collar of her shirt.
"H-Hey, let me down." She whines.
"No." I state bluntly, as I walk inside the stable.
"Ehhh~!" Shitty glasses exclaims.
I let a ghost of a smirk appear on my face, as shitty glasses struggles to get down.
I then begin to tend to my horse, ignoring the pleas of the overly hyper woman.
____________Your POV_____________
"Come on, is that all you got." You tease, as Gunther tries to land a punch on you, but you successfully dodge again.
You then quickly move behind him, and swiped his legs out from underneath him, causing him to fall backwards.
You then quickly pin him down.
"(F/n) wins." Eld says from the sidelines.
"Good match." Gunther says, smiling.
You looked shocked for a moment, but soon smiled back.
"Yeah, it was." You say, as you help Gunther up.
You look around, and looked both at Gunther and Eld, and notice something.
'Finally, they aren't looking at me like I'm weak, anymore.' As soon as you think this, you let a small sigh of relief escape the lips.
After a few more minutes of training, it was time for lunch.
You, along with everyone else, begin to walk inside.
