Chapter Two: First Date

"What am I supposed to wear!" I yell at my sister frustrated. She keeps telling me about how ugly all my clothes are but that isn't helping.

"Here come to my closet," she says as we go into her room.

"What about this?" She asks while pulling out a black crop top and ripped jeans. It was actually really cute and since she's smaller then me it would enlighten my curves.

"I'll try it on," I say before grabbing the clothes and going back in my room. When I checked myself in the mirror, I was less nervous. I looked good and that was one less thing to stress over. After I did my hair and put on some lip gloss, I was ready to go.

"Leila he's here!" Lia yelled from downstairs.

"I'm coming!" I ascend the staircase nice and slow like in the movies. I wanted him to stare after me in awe and that's exactly what he did when I made full eye contact with him.

"Wow," Lia and Grey said at the same time.

"One picture," Lia says while pulling out her phone. I roll my eyes before Grey stands behind me and poses for the camera. After the picture, I rush to leave.

"Bye Lia," I say while grabbing Grey's arm and dragging him outside with me.

"Why in a rush?" he chuckles.

"Because she was about to embarrass me," I say as we walk to his car.

"You look beautiful," he says with a smile.

"Thank you," I blush while looking down nervously. I tried to keep my cool but I didn't want to ruin this perfectly good moment.

He opens his car door for me and I get inside. When I grab the seatbelt, he takes it from me and straps me in himself. His body brushes against mine causing my breath to hitch and my palms to sweat. "You don't have to do that." I didn't want him to feel pressured.

"I enjoy it," he smiles gently. After he goes to his side and buckles up, we head on our way to the beach.

We arrive and see a swarm of kids laughing, drinking, and dancing by a fire. The sun was setting and it was a perfect Saturday night. "Ready?" He asks as I nod my head. He gets out and runs to my side. He opens the door and takes off my seatbelt before helping me out of the car.

I see people start to stop and stare while looking at us. There most likely wondering how such an ugly duckling like me can score a hottie like him. To be honest I had no clue myself. "People are staring," I say before he turns to see what I'm talking about.

"It's probably because you look so good," he says while grabbing my hand. When our fingers interlock, my hand jolts with electricity.

We walk over to the party and are greeted by some girls Grey met from school. "Hey Grey. You look so cute," one of them says while hugging him. He tried to keep a hold of my hand but was forced to let go and hug her back.

"Thanks Stacy. You know Leila right?" He introduces before putting his arm around my waste.

"Yeah I've seen you around before," she says with a fake smile. Her eyes flared with jealousy and I smiled shyly.

We stand around awkwardly for a bit before she says she has to go and her and her minion take off into the crowd. "Come on," Grey leads me to the shore. Almost no one was in the water and the bonfire was a bit far from the water.

"Let's take a walk, unless you wanna go in the water." He smirks and I decide to take a walk instead.

We walk hand in hand and talk. "So pretty boy, where did you move from?" I ask with some humor.

"Nashville. My dad got a new job out here after my mom died," he said with his head down while kicking the sand.

"I'm so sorry. My parents died when I was three and our housekeeper takes after us. It was harder on Lea then it was me," I say while looking at him.

"That sucks. I'm sorry to hear that," he looks up at me.

"I see you've made a lot of friends," I change the subject.

"Yeah I guess. I don't really like any of them though. They kind of annoy me. Well all of them except you," he stops walking and stands in front of me.

I smile weekly while looking off under his gaze. He redirects my head to look at him. "I'm more complicated then I present myself to be Leila," he says seriously. I didn't care what he meant at the time. All I could focus on was the way he said my name. Looking back I should have payed more attention.

"Isn't everyone?" I ask while looking up into his hazel eyes.

"I guess so," he says without breaking eye contact. When he leans in to kiss me, we get cut off because the crowd yells in panic.

"The cops are here!" Someone yells causing everyone to panic and leave.

Immediately, Grey grabs my hand and drags us to his car. He tries to buckle me in but I shoo him away because we have so little time. When we get away from the beach, he turns the radio on. I listen to the songs before drifting off to sleep.

"Leila. Lelia wake up," he shakes me awake. I look up and see him leaning above me.

"Where are we?" I ask while looking around to see we're in front of a lake house.

"Come on," he smiles before helping me out of the car.

He unlocks the door to the house and we head inside. The house is beautiful inside and out. It was made out of glass and brick. I loved everything about it.

"Are you hungry?" He asks as my phone buzzes in my back pocket.

"A little," I say while pulling it out. It was Lia. She texted me about coming home tomorrow instead of tonight since no one would be there and she doesn't want me home alone. I sigh while rolling my eyes and putting my phone away.

"What's wrong?" Grey asks while taking out ingredients for spaghetti.

"My sister wants me to stay out for the night instead of coming home," I explain while sitting at the kitchen bar.

"What's wrong with that?" He asks confused.

"I have no where to go," I say with annoyance.

"I already talked to her. You're staying with me tonight. Here," he says while continuing to cook.

I thank Lia internally for this but act surprised. "What will I wear to bed?" I ask thinking about what's to come.

"Let me take care of you. I promise under my care you will be alright okay?" He asks while coming over to me and kissing my forehead.

"Okay," I smile weakly. He goes back to cooking and I wash my hands before helping him out.

We joke around and cook together until our food is made. We eat in a comfortable silence and when we're done, I clean the dishes while he dries them.

After we finish the dishes, he disappears into one of the rooms. "Where are you going?" I ask while following the direction he left in.

"Go in the other room and see," he calls out before closing the door to the bedroom he was in.

I go in the other bedroom and see a bikini and a note on the bed. The note told me to put it on and meet him outside by the lake. It was a beautiful blue bikini that looked even better on me.

When I get outside I'm greeted by a wet Greyson as he gets out of the water to greet me. He stares at me intently causing me to hide myself behind my arms a little.

"Don't do that," he says while grabbing my arms and putting them by my sides. I look up at him doey-eyed as he examines my body. "You're so fucking beautiful," he whispers more to himself then to me.

I take the moment to examine him as well. His abs were glistening under the water drips from the lake and his arm muscles were bulging. The tattoos on his body stood out and were waiting for me to run my hands over them. I wanted nothing more then to kiss and touch him.

"Leila," he whispers while grabbing my hips and pulling me to him. I wrap my arms around his neck. He stares at my lips and I stare into his eyes.

"Kiss me," I say before he closes his eyes and leans in. When our lips collide, I run my hands through his hair gently. His lips were soft and full.

He moves his hands to my cheeks moving my hair out of the way. Back then it was light brown like my sisters.

I slip my tongue inside and he accepts by sucking it gently. I end the kiss softly in an attempt to catch my breath. He presses his forehead against mine and catches his breath as well.

"You're a really good kisser," I smile. He chuckles before kissing my forehead and letting go of my face.

"Come on." He grabs my hand and leads me into the lake.

That night we slept in separate rooms. If we hadn't I probably would have had Lacey sooner then we did. I set the picture down and head to check on Lacey. She was still sound asleep in her crib.

I close her door sigh to myself. Raising her on my own was a challenge, but no matter how much I wanted to give up, to end my life and be with him, I couldn't. Lacey needed me and I'm a way, I needed her. She's the last thing I have of him.
