😩. Anyways, let's move to the questions without wasting time. Not that I don't know but for the benefit of the audience can you please introduce yourselves?

Yasmeen: Salam alaikum and Good evening. My name is Yasmeen M Lawal - with a smile on my face

Amirah: Assalamu Alaykum, My name is Amira Julde, I'm pleased to be here with you today beams

Lipsy: It's an honour to have you both here. It feels like a dream. Can someone pinch me back to life? I don't mean you should pinch pinch me

Amirah: pinches Lipsy

Lipsy: okay moving on to the next question. Can we have a peek into your family background?

Yasmeen: I'm the first of three children. And I love bossing people around laughs My father is a Yoruba whose roots are in Owo but I like to believe I'm Hausa. Like my mom. I love the language

Amirah: Well... I'm the last born of a very large family with lots of siblings and I hate being bossed around rolls eyes at Yasmeen

Yasmeen: laughs at Amirah you'll get used to it

Lipsy: so cute 😂

Amirah: you're yoruba whether you like or yes🌚

Yasmeen: I don't believe you. I'll never believe you. I'm Hausa, considering the fact that that's the only language I speak besides English

Lipsy: No one will ever believe Yasmeen is yoruba 😂 her Hausa is just too much

Yasmeen: laughs thank you Luscious Lipsy

Amirah: Let me give you a better basis of arguing, just say you were born and raised in Kano and their language is the only one you grew to know, so it's only logical that you're an indegene

Yasmeen: No, I was raised in Lagos. I raised myself in Kano 😂 if that makes sense. I'm Hausa, there's no arguing about that.

Amirah: I rest my case 🚶🏾‍♀

Lipsy: laughs evilly looks like we have a winner 😅

Yasmeen: You had no case Dear smiles triumphantly

Lipsy: Yasmeen you have five books published. How'd you do that? Or are you into black magic?

Yasmeen: Says Oh my God in between silent laughs I just write Lipsy. The stories come and I write them

Amirah: Issa lie! It's juju

Lipsy: I wish I had your talent 😭

Yasmeen: You have a unique talent. I love your writing. It's beyond words I tell you

Lipsy: My heart just popped its rib cage 😭 😭

Lipsy: If you were arrested with no explanation, what would your friends and family assume you did. Let's know how evil you are

Yasmeen: Laughs heartily Honestly, nothing. I'm a shy and reserved person. I don't do trouble and much talking. So they'll wonder who set me up laughs again

Lipsy: So you're not evil after all 😭

Amirah: They will definitely assume it's a mistake, Ya Allah laughs I barely talk

Lipsy: What about me? If I got arrested without an explanation what would you think I did?

Yasmeen: laughs you snatched someone's boyfriend or husband laughs

Lipsy: laughs it's going to be nice to try that fah 😂

Yasmeen: I'll be behind you every step of the way laughs

Amirah: I would think you had a conflict with a fellow crusher 😂

Lipsy: 😂 😂 and the girl will overpower me? No wayyyyy

Yasmeen: No, you'll both be locked up and I'll be there for you. Not behind bars though

Lipsy: This should be a lesson for any girl out there that wants to share crush with me😈

Yasmeen: Yes she's done for

Lipsy: What are the worst nicknames you've given each other?

Yasmeen: Monkey. I call her monkey. And then gave her this smiley 🐒

Lipsy: Does she like bananas?

Yasmeen: I have no idea laughs I just enjoy calling her that.

Amirah: She's a monkey, big nose, big head, Aunty bully

Yasmeen: My bigness is nothing compared to yours. You're taller, fatter, broader, wider, headier and all

Lipsy: 😂 😂 deep. I heard somewhere that you two are best friends. Who wants to argue?

Yasmeen: No arguments, it's a fact. We are not best friends. I don't have a best friend. We're just good friends and I tolerate her.

Amirah: Ehn! Say what?  Please please please, we are not. Delete that from your memory, Yasmeen is a 'village girl' in disguise but she's my special somebody smiles sweetly

Lipsy: you guys are in love with each other. Where are your lemonades?

Yasmeen: They are here

Lipsy: Are you sure?

Amirah: I came here with chapman

Lipsy: Is it Chapman with Lipsdripping? 🙄

Yasmeen: Ask her

Amirah: That's what I could lay my hands on

Lipsy: Amirah you wrote sultan. The setting. Wasn't it hard? I mean you weren't even born then but you managed to finesse everything. Or do you have a double life? What are some challenges you faced and how did you overcome them. And most importantly what inspired the setting?

Amirah: Well... I wanted to write a book on Wattpad and I picked my phone and started writing one day like one mumu. I didn't really pre-plan it to have the olden days setting at first. Everyone who reads my books will know my love for dates, I always like relating everything I write with the time in which it happened so that the characters will adopt what was done then, that is in order to make my writing real. So at first I dated Sultan to 23 years earlier than the year I started writing, it was after some first few chapters that I decided backdating it the more will be cooler so I changed it to 130 years ago.

Lipsy: If you love dates when is my birthday?

Amirah: 26th November

Lipsy: You're really good with dates

Yasmeen: What about me Monkey? 🐒

Amirah: Should be 22nd or 23rd February

Yasmeen: Pick one

Amirah: My parents are old couples, they also love dates and when you're gisting with them, especially my father, you will hear him saying "In the 50s or in the 60s" so for sure I have an idea how life was in the early 19s and royalty, I know a whole lot about that my father is not a king 😂 incase you're wondering

Yasmeen: He's royalty though

Amirah: Yes he is. I didn't really face any challenge while writing Sultan, in fact I loved it, just that I always have to put it at the back of my mind that it's pre development period and so no formal education, things like phones, light, cars etc and my English had to be very formal, like I cannot use our contemporary English now such as 'coman beat me, let me coman be going, gerrahere, issalie' and my characters can't enjoy crazy memes or listen to Ed Sheeran's shape of you. As for the setting, I can't really put my hands on what inspired it, I just wanted to write about royalty and I did😊

Lipsy: I really love the book. And Sultan himself. Yasmeen, your book broken. I haven't read it yet but from the title it sounds sad. Like your heart was broken into wicked pieces. What made you write it? And if your heart was broken who broke it?

Yasmeen: My heart has been broken a thousand times but Broken isn't about my heartbreak laughs. So I think I was doing the dishes and talking to myself (something I do almost all the time), something about a man abusing his wife popped into my head and I created a scene and I started conversing with myself. And behold broken. Thought it's not as sad as I wanted it to be

Lipsy: Have you considered publishing it in the future maybe?

Yasmeen: Yes. I want to publish it in the nearest future if Allah wills

Lipsy: Amirah you like lengthy chapters. Why? How do you even get the energy?

Amirah: You see 😂😂I love detailed things, you can even see it from the way I answer your questions. I love going on and on and on, I love descriptions, to give my readers a vivid insight of my imaginations, so it would be like they're watching it rather than reading, I love making things seem real and I don't even realize how far I have gone while writing and sometimes I even have to slash the chapters down so writers don't complain that it's much.
Another reason is that I'm a very really super lazy human laughs coupled with school, so it's not everyday day I feel the urge to write, so if I do so, I do with much energy, that's why my updates  are long.

Lipsy: And that's why it takes time for me to read your updates 😪, Yasmeen why do you like short chapters?

Yasmeen: I get bored easily. Long chapters bore me to near death. I mean they feel like handouts and they're not my thing. I think every chapter should hook the reader and lengthy chapters don't do that for me

Lipsy: I'm with you on this Yasmeen.

Yasmeen: Thank you

Lipsy: Yasmeen I'm asking this question as an angry reader 😡 why did you end OUR MARRIAGE?

Yasmeen: laughs It ended beautifully. They were all happy at the end. Plus I was bored

Lipsy: Okay. So you guys are quite popular so I'm sure you get hate comments a lot. What was your reaction when you got your first hate comments?

Yasmeen: I'm not popular smiles. I wouldn't call it a hate comment, rather I'll call it an angry reader's comment. It was my Hausa story Dr Azeema. The story's ending was inconclusive. She was about to make a choice, she made a choice and I didn't say what is was and that was how it ended. And I got comments I did not like. But I'm a calm somebody so I didn't see the comments. Let's all believe that

Amirah: I can't remember getting any hate comments, just one or two interference from readers in the name of corrections, like someone was arguing with me on the age of Sameer in Sultan laughs it's like she forgot I'm the writer

Lipsy: laughs who is getting married first?

Amirah: Yasmeen, she's older winks and she's engaged sef

Lipsy: Amirah you don't have any special someone on your life?

Amirah: laughs I wouldn't say no

Lipsy: Amirah tell us about your early days as a wattpad author. The challenges you faced in getting audience and all

Amirah: Hmmmm... I love telling my story to new authors 😂I suffered a lot. I started writing in January but as at May that year, I had three readers, two of which are my friends who introduced me to Wattpad and a girl from South Africa. In fact I didn't know there were Nigerian readers on Wattpad talk more of writers, and I was insecure about my setting thinking foreigners would not even give it a second glance. I was elated when I found out much later.
You see, I even got discouraged and stopped writing for 5 months, but when I discovered Nigerians, I was sure my book will get some audience so I continued writing and here is it today almost reaching 200k reads. I started from 5 reads per chapter 😂

Lipsy: Very inspiring 😭 sometimes when I feel like giving up I remember your story. It's a lesson for all wallahi.

Lipsy: What kind of cult would you like to start? If you were to start one?

Yasmeen: laughs I'm already in a cult. A writers'cult. I'm not sure yet though

Amirah: I'm with Yasmeen on this one

Lipsy: For the first time ever. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

Yasmeen: Nothing funny recently. Sighs everything is serious and hectic.

Amirah: I said I will go on mid-friendship break with any of my friends that watch The Wedding Party 2 without me😂😂 though they still went ahead.

Lipsy: If you were transported 400 years into the past with no clothes or anything else, how would you prove that you were from the future?

Yasmeen: No clothes? 😳 I'd get something to cover up first and then I'll enjoy. Amira would enjoy it though. She's a monkey

Amirah: A monkey's friend is a monkey

Lipsy: 😂 😂

Amirah: Are you about to make us characters in your book? 😂😂I will speak Law to them 😎

Lipsy: What fictional character is amazing in any of your books but would be insufferable if you had to deal with them in everyday situations?

Yasmeen: It's hard to choose from Neenee, Na'ima and Jamila.

Jamila is a modern person and she's got brothers 😂😂

Neenee knows nothing. Her religious state was a fail and she was naïve

Na'ima, traumatized. But she's fun.

I like Neenee the most though. I could bully her 😈

Lipsy: You just love bullying people 😭

Yasmeen: Yes i do. But with my mouth and hands

Amirah: Batuul from Sultan 😌😌I cannot use that one to play, she's a princess and she can beat me because she's bigger than me 😂😂
And then Manal from The Story Of Us, I'm sorry to say but she will suffer a whole lot.

Lipsy: I've been waiting to ask this. How do you guys feel about being interviewed together?

Yasmeen: It's fun laughs I get to be the calm one while Amira is perceived as the -you know- less liked one.

Amirah: They will soon know your real colour. I want to tear this annoying big headed Yasmeen into pieces elbows her

Lipsy: What's her fake colour 😂 Yasmeen, Amirah has been saying your head is big. How big is it?

Yasmeen: People from her town are extremely small headed so she thinks my head is like a spaceship or something

Amirah: That's because it is

Lipsy: What do you like to do in your free time. Apart from writing and thinking of what your next chapter would be like?

Yasmeen: Sleeping. I'm in love with sleeping. It's my greatest hobby

Amirah: You have said it all 😂I'm not a movie person you see. So I love surfing the net, chatting

Lipsy: How do you feel about this Lemonade with Lipsdripping thing?

Yasmeen: It's fun. Because luscious Lipsy is interviewing us

How do you think I got the name Lipsdripping. And what do you think it means?

Amirah: You told us 😛😛it was picked by your friend. You said you wanted something that will catch people's attention

Yasmeen: You were looking for a new name and this was suggested 🙄. It means digar lebe and you like kissing

Lipsy: why did I tell you 😭 Let's say I came to you seeking for advice. On love. Would you advice me to follow my heart or my head?

Amirah: Your head 😂😂because I know you're crazy and if I say you should follow your heart you might take crazy steps

Lipsy: For example 😂

Amirah: Lips sealed 😂

Yasmeen: Follow your heart jhor. When we hate him, we will use our head.

Lipsy: You're my mentor Yasmeen 😂 Now I want you to write an essay of 30 words saying nice things about each other

Yasmeen: I'm going to fail. Miserably 😭

Amirah: 🙄🙄what if there's nothing nice to say about Yasmeen, do you want me to lie?

Yasmeen: There are tons of nice things to say about me. I'm Yasmeen for crying out loud

Amirah: There was a time in my life that Yasmeen stood by me, like I will dump everything on her and she would listen. I appreciated that a lot and for that singular gesture, I will never forget her.

Lipsy: *can I get an awww from the audience please?* 😭 this is just too sweeet

Amirah: Though most other times she's so annoying I feel like not talking to her again 🙄🙄

Yasmeen: Lemme try sha. Amira Julde Gwarimpawo is girl. She is from Adamawa state and a Ganye (the name of their village I think) person. She studied Law at Bayero University Kano. She is now in Law school. Amira has a friend Fatima who is a fan.

Honestly she's a nice person except when she's annoying. And everyone is annoying at some point in a day. I don't even know why I like her.

I enjoy talking to her though. And I want her to marry someone in Kano so we can be state mates 😂

She says nice things to me out of the blues and once in a blue moon that gets me thinking "she's possessed". I sorta kinda like the small girl

Amirah: People will always talk, they will always look down on you, make you feel you're not good enough, do what makes you happy so far it's halal. You never know your ability until you try. I love you all 😘😘
