twenty four.

twenty four.

Night time had rolled around. The street was rather dark. Almost all of the Intelligence Unit were suited up. Making their way slowly along the sidewalk that led up to the house. Once the phones pinged to this certain house, they got the all clear to take them in when the night rolled in. Ready to bring in the two 18 year olds who had murdered and raped the teenaged girl.

Creeping up the walkway, through the gate. Jay led the group with his long gun drawn. Followed by Kev with the battering ram. In a line, walking one in front of the other. Each of the members had their guns drawn. Scanning their surroundings, prepared for anything. Nodding to them, giving the go ahead. Adam, Hailey, and Kim headed to the back of the house. Leaving Jay, Kev, and Pru to enter from the front. Taking steps up the stairs they had formed around the door.

"Hey, this is open." Kev announced to them as he dropped the battering ram to the porch floor off to the side then pulled out his gun.

"Well, that's either good or bad." Pru commented. Guns raised cautiously as the girl followed them inside the house once Jay kicked the door open more. He led the way in as Pru walked close behind him. Prepared for anything as the girl had Kev behind her. Jay turned down one way and Pru went the other way as Kev went straight.

"Chicago PD, hands up." Kev said as Pru let the other three in from the back door not before calling out to them.

"Got two bodies." Kev called out his findings as they rounded the corner.

"Hmm, okay, that's...that's one way to take care of rapists." Jay let out.

"You gotta be kidding me. They cut 'em off." Adam observed. The three men looking uncomfortable as they stared at the two bodies on the couch. The three women shared a shock expression as they looked at one another.

"Well, gentlemen. A takeaway from this. At least you still have yours." Pru told them in a slight joking matter as she walked away to call it in.

"We got anything on this gangbanger named Q?" Hank questioned as he made his way into the bullpen. Kim stood by the board, Pru was settled at her desk in front of the computer while Jay sat on the edge of Hailey's desk with the file folder in hand.

"Yeah, Sarge, his name came up on wire a few days ago. Exact quote was 'have Q reliever the guns. Drop off at the pool hall on 22nd. Usual price'." Jay read off the screenshots of the text they had gotten.

"I'm assuming that's someone in Little Village?" Voight wondered. Pru stood up from her desk as she walked closer to them. Standing near them but leaving a good amount of space.

"There's a place called Kedzie Billiards on 22nd." Hailey pitched in.

"Could be Q's hangout." Al commented.

"Sarge. I hate to be that kind of person, but how do we know Q is even a male?" Pru spoke up as she got all of their attention.

"There's no picture or video that determines what gender this 'Q' is. And I don't know. I just have a feeling by the way the scene was laid out the other night. Q may not be a man." Pru told them her thoughts on what had been picking at her brain.

"Hmm. Alright, you and Halstead go check the hangout. Lets see if that theory is correct." Hank directed them. The girl snatched her jacket before she headed out with Jay.

"You really think it wasn't a man who did this?" Jay questioned Pru as they got out of the truck. Pru hit the lock button on the key as they started to head towards the building.

"Yeah. I'm almost 98% sure it was a female." Pru replied.

"I don't know.  I don't think a female would go as far as chopping it off." Jay thought.

"Do you wanna test that theory out?" Pru raised her eyebrow as Jay's eyes widened. He coughed uncomfortably then shook his head.

"No thanks. I'm all set." He let stumble out past his mouth which made Pru laugh. The two entered the Billiards place. Making their way right over to the counter at the bar, passing the few Billiard tables. Rock music filled the air as it played through the hangout.

"CPD." Jay announced as he held out his badge to show one of the bartenders.

"We're looking for a guy named Q." Jay told them as Pru rolled her eyes when the detective said 'guy'. The bartender chuckled as he couldn't help but hide his smile.

"And may I ask what has you all happy?" Pru asked the bartender.

"There's no law against being happy, is there?" The man asked.

"No, but there is a law against lying to the cops. So maybe you want to rethink your answer." Jay said with a stern look.

"I swear to God on my mother. I don't know a man named Q." The bartender ever told the two.

"Uh-huh." Jay muttered, unconvinced as the two began to head to the exit. Passing the pool tables.

"I told you." Pru sung as Jay looked down at her. But something else caught her attention as she began to back up. Moving towards one of the billiard tables where a women stood. Her arms had some tattoos covering them and she wore a bandana around her head.

"Excuse me. We're looking for someone named Q. Maybe there's a chance you could help us out?" Pru spoke to the women who glanced up briefly from her game.

"Don't know no one by that name." She responded as Pru gave her an unconvinced look.

"That's quite ironic. What's that tattooed letter on your arm then?" Pru challenged as the women, Q smirked.

"We're gonna need to take you for a little ride down to the District to ask you a few questions." Pru informed Q.

"About what?" The tattooed women asked.

"Three dead rapists." Pru replied as she ushered the women to follow Jay out.

"I told you it was a girl." Pru rubbed in Jay's face as he gave her a look. She smiled feeling victorious at the revelation. The two had just printed out Q's picture and did a background check on her real name while Hailey and Kim asked her questions in one of the interrogation rooms.

"Yeah, yeah." Jay let out slightly annoyed that he was wrong as they headed up the stairs.

"She may or may not be the killer. But don't rule out a girl instantly. A girl can just as easily be involved or even the killer." Pru told the man as they entered the bullpen to see everyone. Walking over by the board, Jay placed the picture of Q on the whiteboard as Pru wrote Q's name below. Not going to let Jay write it out because then it wouldn't be that legible. She was lucky that she even knew how to read his handwriting because then a lot of people would be lost without her translation when he wasn't there to read it out.

"Isabel Torres, street name Q. Short for Queen." Jay informed everyone who stood around.

"Long rap sheet: drugs, larceny, aggravated assault." Pru listed off.

"She runs an all-female gang called the Viper Queens, but for the most part, they're a delivery service for the local male gangs." Antonio read off from the file Pru and Jay had put together.

"Yeah, women behind the wheel lowers the risk of arrest by 50%, maybe 60%." Al spoke from his spot.

"Yeah, because like it or not, we're all biased. We don't profile women as criminals. They're not strong enough, they're not tough enough." Kim pointed out the truth. Pru looked over at Jay who caught her stare and scoffed to himself then crossed his arms.

"That's a little bit of an overstatement." Adam commented.

"I don't think so. I think that she's right in the ballpark with that one. 'Her' or 'she' is barely ever used. It's always a 'he' or 'him' right away." Pru defended Kim's statement.

"This case so far... Pru was the only one who even thought to mention the possibility of a female being involved." Kim said.

"They kind of make a point." Kev agreed.

"Okay, enough. We got homicides to solve. Right now, we got a whole lot of nothing. No physical evidence, no forensics. So dig into these rape victims. Find the connection with this female banger Q. Rest of you, canvas the neighborhood where the bangers got popped. Show photos of them, Q. Maybe someone saw them together near the time of the murders " Hank instructed as Pru headed out of the room with Jay down the hallway into the locker room.

"Hey, are you busy tonight when we get off?" Jay questioned as the girl peered up at him. Hoping that the girl would say she's free. Wanting her to say that she wasn't busy.

"Umm, I actually was going for drinks with someone." Pru awkwardly said as Jay tried to gather what to say. He was slightly let down as he looked at her. Masking his emotions so they wouldn't show.

"Oh, cool. Anyone I know?" Jay played off as Pru gave him a sad look.

"Jay..." Pru trailed off.

"I get it. I shouldn't have asked." Jay nodded his head as Pru watched him walk away. Feeling something deep down that made her internally scream in frustration. But the girl turned away and walked off the other way.

Music played softly in the background. Pru sat at a table across from the person she met up with. Feeling content and relaxed as they talked about random things. He had admitted when they first met that his girlfriend had just left him to move out of Chicago and he was still working through it. Pru had told him that if he ever needed a friend that she'd be there. All he had to do was reach out.

So there they sat in Molly's. Sharing embarrassing stories. Laughing at each other and some of the situations that they had been through. His recent one had Pru giggling. He had hooked up with a women in a hotel room and agreed to see each other again. Only to then find out that she was married when she appeared in the ER. It made him feel terrible to find out he slept with a married women. But to lighten the mood, Pru joked that he could check that off his bucket list now. That had him chuckling and shaking his head in disapproval.

Unbeknownst to Pru, Jay and Will day by the bar. Jay had kept glancing over at the two who sat at the table across the room. Feeling a tad bit jealous that Pru had gone out with someone. A doctor at that. What made him upset was as he watched them laugh and joke with each other, Pru seemed happy. And Jay realized that he wasn't the one who was the source of creating that happiness. And that was killing him on the inside.
