Resemblance is a life force, a power boost for everyone in Mirai. It is something they need to live, they are Majors, Inbetween and Minors. The Major ones are the Old Ones. The Old Ones are beings that create destruction and creations. Carcosa is one of the beings of destruction while his counterpart Lucrosa is one of the deities of creation. They created the other beings and trapped them in the symbol of their vessels. Resemblances are the hosts while the bodies of Kuras and Vains are the vessels for their abilities. They are different from every single one of them, very very different. They are like the dreadful seven sins, they are much like the cruelty of the two Gods that left everything to their twin children. The Old Ones are nothing more than cruel to the vessel, once the Resemblance gets cut through, the life span is shortened and at the final blow of the attack, they perish without the symbol.

The Major ones are only for upper-class citizens. They can't pick who's powerful or not, sometimes they are useless sometimes they aren't. The vessels are nothing more than breeding whores. The royals gamble to the point they cannot have more powerful Resemblances. None can gamble their lives away until they pay a price. Sometimes the unfortunate get granted to have a Major Resemblance.

The Inbetween Resemblances are the ones where middle-class citizens get. They are either very helpful or it will doom them to their misery. It is also a rare case where the Major intertwines with the Inbetween. It is nothing for them to choose from, they are just a vessel to be controlled and used. Like a certain creature.

Unfortunately, the Minor ones aren't needed, they are like servants to the higher up. Sadly only the lower class or the poor have that Resemblance. They are nothing more than tools for others to use and throw away like objects.

The vessel does not choose who its host is, it is only after birth and at a young age that the host takes control of them and talks to them like an old friend. They either be helpful, manipulate or cause chaos. None of them are good, they take it for granted and pay the price. None can be used for control, the vessels are mere storage tanks.

A storage tank for others to take and bring suffering. Unless you are like these researchers who spent their life researching their Resemblance, only to be left with more answers and mystery.
