Emberheart and jayfeather brought Sootpaw ' s body into the clearing. Whispers of her clanmates greeted her ears. Most of the clan was back. But her sisters weren't. Havenstorm ran up to them.

" so it's true. She's gone." Havenstorm murmured. Leafpaw nodded

Sootpaw I let you down. You were the best littermate any cat could've asked for. I would miss you. She thought sadly.

Her clanmates gathered around her sister. She pricked her ears and looked up to see her father and her sisters and the rest of the patrol.

"Sootpaw! No!" Rainleaf yowled running over to the lump of fur in the middle of the clearing where the rest of Thunderclan was.

leafpaw buried her muzzle into her sisters cold fur.

I can't belive she's gone... I don't want this to happen again. she thought.

She remembered the times they would play moss ball. And the time she and Sootpaw followed a border patrol out when they were kits.

" I'm going to miss you." She murmured.

They sat vigil the whole night. The rest of thunderclan left to go to their dens while her family and the leader stayed. And Sootpaw ' s mentor. Her sister rosepaw was next to her. She fell asleep next to her sister.

Once in her dream she saw sootpaw.
"Sootpaw!" She yowled happily she ran towards her sister knowing that she's safe in starclan.

" Hello my dear sister. I've missed you already." Sootpaw purred.

She brushed her cheek against her sister purring.

" I can't belive your fine!" Leafpaw meowed unsure of what else to say to her sister.

" Leafpaw, you will be a wonderful warrior. Just make sure you make the right choices. Remember what our father said our clan is always first. Remember that." Sootpaw mewed.

" What do you mean make the right choices. You know I will make the right choices!" She meowed shocked that her sister didn't believe in her.

" Leafpaw I will always be watching you. And I do believe in her just watch what path you take." Sootpaw murmured

And the dream ended.

It was dawn she didn't want to move from her sisters body. The rest of her family have left to their nests She was the only one.

" Leafpaw get up." She heard a soft voice whisper in her ear she recognized her mentors voice.

" did I fall asleep?" She murmured looking up at lionblaze.

" Yes. Come on leafpaw you need some rest." He murmured nuzzeling her head up she got up and stumbled towards the apprentice den. She looked back and saw Jayfeather and Fireclaw and Frogtail bury her sisters body. She entered the Apprentices den and she fell into her nest.

she just stared at the walls of the den. Grieving for her lost sister she felt a paw poke her.

" Leafpaw dear. It's time to get up." Her mother's voice Havenstorm.

"No I wanna stay." She murmured.

Curling into a ball and wrapping her tail around her paws.

" Come on you need to train. Everyone Is worried about you. And your going to the gathering tonight." Havenstorm murmured.

Oh yeah its full moon tonight. She would've gone to her first gathering. With her sisters.

She felt the den rustle

"is leafpaw alright?" Rainleaf meowed.

" No.. she won't move." Havenstorm sighed. Leafpaw ' s ear twitched

The day passed on nobody disturbed her. She felt the den rustle from time to time when the Apprentices left and entered. But no one came to wake her until the leader came In.

" Leafpaw, are you going to the gathering? We're about to leave."Ravenstar meowed

"Sure. I'll go." She meowed quietly. Getting up slowly.

Ravenstar nodded and led her out. Her clanmates looked up. Seedpaw ran over to her.

" Leafpaw! You missed training." Lionblaze meowed.

" Lionblaze is that all you care about? She just lost her sister!" Cinderheart chided.

"I was only joking!" Lionblaze argued. She didn't say anything they ran out of camp towards the island.

they started to slow down once they saw windclan passing by towards the Island.

" greetings Lilystar." Ravenstar meowed nodding to the gray and white leader.

" Hello ravenstar." Lilystar meowed

Ravenstar flicked her tail once the windclan cats passed by. She saw an apprentice jumping up and down excitedly.

"Raggedpaw! Knock it off you rabbit-brain!" Another apprentice snapped.

" Well I'm sorry blackpaw I'm just excited for my first gathering!" The apprentice growled.

She glanced up to meet the Apprentices eyes. She looked away from him. As if embarrassed. Once windclan was done on the log they where next. She was next after Seedpaw. The water lapped at the log making it slippery as she crossed she was going slowly and careful.

" It's alright leafpaw take your time." Havenstorm meowed encouraging her to go on. Her hind leg suddenly slipped her mother grabbed her scruff before she could fall in.

" thanks" She meowed breathlessly with fear. She hopped off the end of the log and then the last was twilightwing. Ravenstar looked over her clan once more before they ran off towards the gathered clans.

The last clan to arrive was shadowclan they got to mingle a little.

"Hey leafpaw! I want to introduce you to some apprentices!" Lionblaze meowed flicking his tail. She nodded following her mentor her sisters where already there and she saw that apprentice from windclan. Who was named raggedpaw.

"Hey everyone this is leafpaw. She's kind of down in the dumps so make her happy" Lionblaze purred.

"Hi! I'm raggedpaw from windclan this is my brother blackpaw." Raggedpaw meowed

"Hello." She meowed dipping her head. Blackpaw growled and stalked off to some of the other apprentices.

"What's his problem?" Leafpaw asked.

" He's just grumpy but once you get to know him he's great!" Raggedpaw meowed.

" I'm hollowpaw!of windclan I'm older than those two Mouse-brains so just ignore them." She meowed purring

"I'm not a mousebrain!"Raggedpaw snapped at his clanmate. One of the warriors stepped between them.

" Stop fighting! We have a truce!" The warrior snapped

The two apprentices where about to get into a play fight.

" Let all clans gather around and we share news under the silverpelt under the truce of starclan! We've come together under each full moon and no clan has discouraged that truce!" One of the leaders yowled.

"Who was that?" She hissed to hollowpaw

"That's Darkstar leader of shadowclan. He's seriously scary. The one next to him is Lilystar of windclan my leader! Ravenstar of course you know who that is. And then minnowstar of riverclan she's next to ravenstar." Hollowpaw whispered as she listened to Darkstar start.

"The prey is running well we have two new apprentices icepaw and feralpaw!'" Darkstar meowed proudly.

Leafpaw craned her neck to see where the Apprentices where. There! Icepaw and Feralpaw held their heads up high proud.

" cheeky shadowclan" one of the Apprentices growled next to her.

Then was Lilystar ' s turn.

"We also have two new apprentices and one new warrior." Lilystar meowed.

"Raggedpaw and Blackpaw. And Tallwing" Lilystar meowed.

They called out their names most was for Tallwing.

" Tallwing is the greatest warrior in our clan! He's even popular among the clans!" Hollowpaw purred proudly.

She nodded and turned back to the leaders.

" We have four new apprentices but sadly we lost one of them. Sootpaw will be remembered by her sisters and all of thunderclan. But anyways Leafpaw, Rosepaw, and Seedpaw. " Ravenstar meowed

The clans yowled out their names. Once they died down Minnowstar stepped up.

" Sootpaw will be remembered by riverclan. But our deputy passed away recently due to greencough. Lionwing will be remembered. Our new deputy is hawkleaf." Minnowstar meowed

She looked at the warrior who was sitting at the root of tree. They met eye contact for a second but then she looked away.

The gathering was over. She said goodbye to raggedpaw.

"Leafpaw. Can I speak with you?" Raggedpaw asked

"Of course." She murmured.

"Come on leafpaw we need to go." Seedpaw murmured

"I'll be along go ahead. Tell them I wanted to check something out." She meowed waving her sister away. .
Seedpaw just nodded and ran back to their clanmates.

She turned back to raggedpaw.

" What do you want? What's important that you want to speak with me?"She growled.

"Meet me here half moon. Please. Every half moon. I realized I've fallen for you leafpaw." Raggedpaw murmured.
"But that's against the warrior code..."She murmured

" I know But just please will you?" Raggedpaw begged..

"Leafpaw! Come on we're waiting for you!" Lionblaze yowled.

"I'm coming!" She meowed.

"I have to go. I'm sorry." She murmured

Raggedpaw brushed his cheek against hers.

"Please. Remember half moon." Raggedpaw meowed.

Leafpaw ran towards her clanmates.

"What did you see leafpaw?" Lionblaze asked.

"I found nothing." She meowed shaking her head.

"Okay... if you say so."Lionblaze meowed she ran before she could get more interogated by her mentor. She ran by echopaw.

"Hey leafpaw. How was your first gathering?" Echopaw asked.

"Great."She meowed

Many moons passed and she's been meeting raggedpaw. Ever since her sister died she's fallen for raggedpaw. Tonight was half moon. She was training with lionblaze.

"Come at me again!" Lionblaze growled.

"I'm trying my best!" She yowled.

She ran at lionblaze trying to knock him over and pin him down.

Once she came towards lionblaze he sidestepped her and she came back around to attack him.

He shook her off.

"Mouse-brain!" She snapped.

"Hey your doing it all wrong." Lionblaze growled.

"How am I doing it wrong?" She snapped sitting up shaking dirt out of her fur.

" Well first things first your going to fast. And so your not thinking straight you have to follow through. Watching your enemies next move!"Lionblaze meowed.

"Why don't you try it on me!" She snapped her fur bristiling.

"Are you sure about that?" Lionblaze asked.

"Yes im sure!" She snapped.

Lionblaze nodded and they got in to postion. Lionblaze started running at her. She held her ground. But lionblaze ended up knocking her injured shoulder hard. She winced in pain.

"Leafpaw? Are you okay?" Lionblaze asked. She shook her head. Pain in her injured shoulder shot through her. The one she injured during the badger attack.

"Let me get Emberheart!" Lionblaze meowed. Starpaw and echopaw and their mentors where training them. They noticed the commotion going on next to them.

"Lionblaze! What happened?" Twilightwing asked.

"It's Leafpaw ' s shoulder. " Lionblaze meowed.

" can she get up?" Twilightwing growled.

Lionblaze shook his head. She winced in pain as they lifted her up.

"Shadowstep! Train the Apprentices please!" Twilightwing ordered.

"Got it!" Shadowstep called back.

Lionblaze and twilightwing carried her all the way back to camp. Sparkfur was watching the camp.

"What's going on?" Sparkfur meowed startled.

"Leafpaw hurt. We need Emberheart." Lionblaze growled. Sparkfur nodded and left her post to get Emberheart. they just entered camp. Her clanmates looked up startled by the commotion.

"What's happened?" Emberheart greeted them as they entered the medicine cats den.

" We were training and I think I ran into her to hard." Lionblaze meowed.

" No its not that I noticed a hole in the ground and I fell when I was come back around to get hit you. I think that's what happened then when you hit me... It hurt my shoulder a little to hard." She growled as the pain went through her shoulder. Emberheart was putting herbs on her shoulder.

"Jaypaw tonight is half-moon we can't miss it." Emberheart meowed realizing.

"But what about leafpaw?" Jaypaw meowed poking his head from the medicine store.

"Some one will have to watch her." Emberheart meowed.

"Jayfeather could." Lionblaze offered.

" absolutely not!" Jayfeather growled nearby.

"Please jayfeather! It's just for tonight!" Emberheart meowed. .

Jayfeather poked his head in the den. She lifted her head up but when she did her shoulder burned. She cried out in pain.

"What's wrong with her?" Jayfeather asked.

"Dislocated her shoulder during training today." Lionblaze meowed glaring at his brother.

" you Mouse-brain always training your apprentices to hard!" Jayfeather sighed.

"Fine I'll watch her." Jayfeather meowed.

WHAT?! not him! Now how will I be able to go see raggedpaw? I don't want raggedpaw to think I ditched him! She thought making a face.

"What's with the face?" Jaypaw purred amused.

"Nothing!" She murmured. Embarrassed looking away.

Emberheart gave her poppy seeds before they left and then jayfeather came in.

Once in her dream she saw a dank forest.

" Hello little kit" a warrior behind her growled.

"W-who are you? This isn't starclan..."She stammered.

"Your right kit. This is the dark forest." The warrior growled.

" I thought the dark forest was done!" She meowed startled.

"Well we will never be done! My name is Tigerstar and I will train you young kit and you won't even be able run from me! These are your dreams now!" Tigerstar growled.

"No! I wont!" She meowed.

"To bad leafpaw. I've claimed you as my apprentice. We're getting revenge on the clans this time we're going to destroy the clans once and for all!" Tigerstar growled

She woke up startled

"NO I WONT!" She yowled startled.

"Calm down! Jeez!" Jayfeather growled.

"Oh I'm sorry." She murmured she felt pain go through her shoulder again.

"Your shoulder? Maybe you shouldn't have woke startled like that."Jayfeather meowed.

"The dark forest is back." She whispered quietly.
