Chapter 31 -
Back at the hotel, Erin sat on the bed with her phone propped up against the pillows. The screen was lit up with two familiar faces: Carmen Navarro and her girlfriend, Liv.
"Oi, Calloway," Carmen smirked, tossing her braids over her shoulder. "Took you long enough to check in. We were starting to think you crashed into the Thames or something."
Liv snorted, sipping from a wine glass. "Nah, Erin would never crash. She'd just bully someone else into doing it for her."
Erin rolled her eyes. "Glad to see you both still talk shit from across the Atlantic."
Carmen smirked. "It's a skill."
Dax, Jinx, and Rev were sprawled across the room, watching the video call like it was a damn soap opera.
"Yo, Erin," Jinx leaned forward. "Tell Carmen to get her butt over here."
Liv blinked, leaning closer to the camera. "Who's talking?"
Carmen smirked. "That would be Jinx."
Jinx clutched his chest dramatically. "Ouch. That hurts."
Carmen grinned. "Good."
Erin shook her head. "Alright, can we focus? We need the cars from LA."
Liv tilted her head. "Damn, straight to business. What's the rush?"
Erin leaned forward. "Because we just got into a very big race, and we're not running it in borrowed cars."
Carmen and Liv exchanged looks.
Liv raised a brow. "So, what you're saying is... we need to ship the whole fleet?"
Erin nodded. "And if you two are serious about getting involved, you should get your asses over here too."
Carmen smirked. "Oh, babe, I was already packing."
Liv exhaled. "Alright, alright. We can pull some strings. When do you need them?"
Erin thought for a second. "Soon as possible. I don't trust any of these guys with Ethan's cars for longer than necessary."
Rev mocked a shocked look. "Wow, zero faith."
Dax, however, was already thinking ahead. "Liv, Carmen, who can you call to get the transport done fast?"
Carmen rubbed her temple. "I do have a guy. But it's gonna cost."
Erin exhaled. "Get it sorted. I'll make sure we cover it."
Carmen raised a brow. "That a Calloway promise?"
Erin smirked. "You know it."
Jinx hyped up again. "So, when you two get here, are we finally gonna see some real competition?"
Carmen laughed. "Oh, Morales, when I smoke you, I'm posting it everywhere."
Rev chuckled. "I knew I always liked her."
Liv sipped her wine, eyeing Erin. "You sure you can handle this race?"
Erin nodded. "Yeah. And we'll handle whatever comes next too."
Carmen smirked. "Damn right we will. See you soon, Calloway."
The call ended with a short beep.
Rev grinned. "Oh yeah, this is gonna be fun."
Dax just shook his head. "This is about to be pure chaos."
And they still had one last thing to sort.
An hour later, Erin found Ghost outside the hotel, leaning against his latest bike, another dark-colored monster of a machine, built for speed and stealth.
He glanced at her as she approached. "Busy night?"
"You could say that," she muttered. "We need cars. Fast."
Ghost exhaled, tipping his head slightly. "And you think I have an answer?"
She crossed her arms. "You always seem to."
A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. "Fair enough." He pulled out his phone, scrolling through something before showing her a name.
Dominic Vale – International Vehicle Transport Specialist.
Erin arched a brow. "Specialist?"
Ghost chuckled. "Legal transport is slow. We need someone who can... bypass the usual channels."
Erin's lips twitched. "You mean a smuggler."
He shrugged. "A very talented one."
Erin exhaled. "Alright. Call him."
Ghost nodded, stepping away as he dialled.
She stared at the city lights, knowing that by the time their cars arrived, the real game was about to begin.
