When I was editing this I had to stop reading 4 times to cringe
I'm sorry I'm capable of so much better ;A;
idk sometimes I just can't write good chapters
so I'm sorry about that
Lara's POV
"Supah?" I asked loudly. My voice simply echoed through the woods.
"He's fine, I'm sure of it." Hawkfrost said, trying to comfort him. Not long after that we arrived to the opening where we first spotted Icee.
Both of us gasped as we saw a giant creature laying there, dragon to be exact.
"You killed that thing?!" Hawkfrost's voice was full of amazement and surprise. "All by yourself?!"
Supah looked at him but looked unamused, tired "Yeah?"
"DUDE! THAT IS AMAZING!" Hawkfrost was speaking so loudly he was almost shouting.
"Okay... can you be a bit more quiet please?" Supah said calmly.
"But..." Hawkfrost opened his mouth but Supah ignored him and turned back to the dead dragon, petting its muzzle.
"Um Hawkfrost, come here for a second." I said. Hawkfrost still looked pretty surprised due to Supah's lack of excitement but remained quiet as he walked closer to me.
"He just killed one of his best friends, you shouldn't be so eager about it." I said quietly. Hawkfrost turned around to see Supah sitting beside dead Icee.
"I still don't understand how he was her friend though..." He muttered.
"You do realize that being a villain changes your personality, don't you?" I scolded him "You become evil for fuck's sake!"
"But how do we know Icee wasn't a bitch in her human life as well?"
"Because I know she wasn't. I knew her and she was really nice."
"You knew The dragon girl?" Hawkfrost asked surprised "Damn, I learn more about you everyday."
"Anyways, just be a bit more respectful to Supah, will you?" I said. He nodded
"Got it."
We walked back to Supah and I sat on the other side of Icee's head. I watched the scales and the drying blood on some of them. I never thought I'd see a real dragon, but then again, I never thought I'd ever have to fight evil human hybrids with my favourite fictional character. Oh well.
"Hey Supah?" I said kindly.
"Yeah?" He didn't look at me.
"Could we maybe took some of her spikes, you know, these on the side of her face?" He didn't seem to care "I think they'd make pretty useful weapons."
"Yeah, do whatever you want... I don't care."
I looked at Hawkfrost and noticed that he was on the edge of shouting at Supah. I gave him a warning look, telling him to control himself. I picked up a small knife that laid not far and started cutting through the outer bone. When I was done, I had three smaller and two bigger sharp spikes that I knew would come in handy at weapon-making.
"Well, I believe we can go now." Hawkfrost said awkwardly. I stood up and walked over to him, waiting for Supah to do the same. But he didn't.
"Wait. Give me a second." He turned to his left and picked up his own weapon that he had. Due to the size of the dragon's head, we didn't see what he was doing. He put the sword down and reached to his pocket, taking something out and the crafting the two items together.
"What is he doing...." Hawkfrost whispered. I shrugged, not knowing.
At last Supah stood up. He was holding a string and on it, what I only assumed to be the dragon's tooth. He put it around his neck and tied the loose ends behind.
He walked to us. Hawkfrost and I looked at each other but didn't say anything. There was nothing to be said.
"Let's go back." Hawkfrost said, turning around from where we came from "Back to Sorrows, Olivia and Ross."
After hours of walking my legs hurt. But I saw our camp and the small fireplace. I saw three small figures there. Sorrows and Olivia noticed us and ran to us, Ross followed them. Before Sorrows even hugged me she looked at Supah. I swooned and made a sad face.
"Is that how to take care of your team?" Sorrows scolded me.
I stared at her confused, not knowing what she wanted "Huh?"
"Look at this!" Sorrows pointed at a giant scar on Supah's arm.
"Oh that..." I said "Well he didn't look like he was in pain."
"Yeah, true. I didn't even notice it until now to be honest." Supah amditted.
"So?! It could get inflected!" Sorrows then dragged Supah back to the fireplace where she could treat him properly. The rest of us stood there and watched
"I'm pretty sure that what she's trying to say is that she's glad to have you back." Olivia told me. I smiled.
"And I'm glad to be back."
"And you're telling me you didn't even know you got hurt so badly? This is one of the deepest wounds I've ever seen, you're lucky you didn't pass out." Sorrows said as she was cleaning Supah's wound.
"I guess the fight was pretty intense." Supah said and shrugged.
"Well just be careful." Sorrows scolded him and sighed.
"Also, how is Ross doing?" I asked, changing the subject. Ross currently wasn't around so I thought it would be a nice time to ask.
"Oh, Ross is doing great. I guess he just needed a few days to calm down." Sorrows said, turning her head to Ross and Olivia who stood a few meters away, talking... about food probably.
"What the fuck." Hawkfrost asked. Everything was quiet until he spoke up.
" But was it necessary to swear?" Sorrows narrowed her eyes.
"It's raining." Hawkfrost said "It has never rained before. And I've been here for months."
"You're right, there's something fishy about this." I admitted.
"I say we take everything and hide under some trees." Supah suggested.
"But what if it's a storm?"
"Well... don't touch the trees I guess? We don't really have much choice now. This rain doesn't look right." Nobody could really argue with that so we quickly organised ourselves and gathered everything we needed. Olivia was the fastest so at that point she worked the most. At last, everything was cleared up and we all stood safely under the tree branches.
I heard Sorrows gasp behind me "My journal!" In the middle of the empty clearing laid a small leather book. Rain was pouring harder now and I knew the journal wouldn't last long there.
"I got it!"Olivia exclaimed and ran over to pick the item back. She quickly returned back and handed Sorrows her beloved notebook.
"Oh thank you so very much Olivia!" Sorrows immediately started scrolling over the pages.
"No problem." Olivia grinned "But now where should I stand?"
"Come here, you don't mind it, do you Hawkfrost?" I said . Olivia paced next to me and didn't give Hawkfrost a chance to reply.
"Um I'm cool with it I guess?"
"Aaachooo!"
"Bless you." Ross said.
"Thanks." Olivia said and coughed.
"You don't sound very healthy to me." Sorrows said carefully.
"It's probably just a cold." Olivia assured her.
"Even if it is, you need some herbs for that."
"Hey the rain stopped." Ross said. I turned around to see the clearing. The soil was dark from water and our fire had died. We started setting up our little camp again. As Hawkfrost and I attempted to start up the fire again, Sorrows was sitting near us, reading her journal.
"Hey Olivia?" She kept her eyes on the journal without looking at the younger female.
"Yah?"
"I don't think going in the rain was such a good idea."
Olivia sneezed again but still looked confused "Why not?"
"Day 4, it rained today. When it was pouring badly Jason sticked his hand out for a few seconds and later felt really sick for hours."
"But you've got a herb for that, don't you? After all, you have a herb for everything." Supah joked, trying to make the situation seem better.
"I do, I'm sure Olivia will be okay."
Small flames started dancing in the core of our fireplace.
"Geez that took a while." Hawkfrost complained. I looked up and saw that the sky was pitch black.
"So who's going to be the night guard tonight?" I asked, looking around.
"I'm not really tired." Hawkfrost said "I think I can handle it."
"Sounds good to me." I said and laid down not far from him as the silence slowly allowed me to sleep.
"Lara, wake up."
"No Hawkfrost I don't want to..." I groaned.
"I'm Ross." I opened my eyes. It was still pretty dark so I assumed I didn't get much sleep.
"What is it?" I got up.
"It looks like Olivia doesn't have just a cold." Ross said, glancing behind him. Hawkfrost, Sorrows and Supah were all sitting next to each other and blocking Olivia so I couldn't see much.
"Have you tried to cool her down yet?"
"Yes Supah, I have." Sorrows said angrily. She sounded pretty stressed out "Just stop trying to help, what do you even know about biology?"
"Well I know how babies are made..."
"Not a good time to joke." Hawkfrost snapped at Supah, shutting him up.
I felt chills run down my spine. That usually meant a villain was near. By Ross's expression I knew it wasn't just me freaking out for no good reason.
Damn it.....At a time like this?
Slowly, both of us turned around to see two red dots, coming closer and closer. By now, the rest of the team had also noticed it.
"Fuck...It's KillerCanadian."
I opened my mouth to speak but he was the first to talk.
"I'm not here to attack you or something else like that. I made a promise with Jerome and I'm keeping it." He said "Besides I don't even give enough of a fuck today." He added with a yawn.
"So... what do you want?" Supah said.
"I'm here to pass a messgae." He closed his eyes and cleared his voice. When he started talking again his voice was....female....A young female voice. When he opened his eyes they were blue.
"Hello my dearest survivors. You might not know me, but I know you."
"Who are you?"
"Well, Supah, my name remains a secret for now but I am your god we could say." She said with a giggle "Well, I'm not here to chit chat however. I have a prophecy for my favourite survivors."
"Oh my god I'm so sick of prophecies." Hawkfrost muttered to himself. KilerCanadian, who was obviously now controlled by somebody else slowly turned to him and narrowed his eyes.
"Well what a shame." She said and turned back to everybody else "Your friend here has a bad cold. But her cure lies in the hidden home of cold."
"THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!" Hawkfrost ranted.
"Goodbye." KillerCanadian smiled and walked back into the forest.
"Back at my home our prophecies sounded way cooler."
"Okay but I don't think this is too hard to figure out actually." Sorows said "The home of cold....who was the only cold or should I say, ice related villain?"
"Well, Icee but how do we find that hidden home of hers?" Ross said.
"Search hard." Hawkfrost said "Now that she's dead her territory is left unprotected."
"But when a villain dies all of its territory vanishes within 24 hours." Sorrows said.
"I think that would make our search easier, it makes sense that whatever this hidden territory is would vanish last." Everybody nodded.
"Either way, we should get going."
