Today was the day Tony would steal your heart and wipe that smug look from Loki’s face. He kept a vigilant eye out for you as he combed through your favorite places. It took him forever, but he finally found you in the lab with Bruce and Loki. Tony’s eyes narrowed at the intruder, Loki never came to the lab ever. You were doing your normal job of cleaning science supplies, far from where Loki sat eyeballing you. You hummed as you worked seemingly oblivious to the longing gazes that were on you. After Tony’s initial glare at his competition his eyes didn’t leave your body.  It wasn’t until the last scientific instrument was dried and put away did he address you.

“How are you (y/n)?”

“What do you want Tony?” You sighed as you headed for Bruce and Loki. You gave both men a gentle smile and Tony’s jaw clenched at your indifference for him.

“Well, I felt bad that you weren’t able to keep the cat from the other day so I’m taking you to the pet store to get a non-diseased animal.”

“Really?” You nearly squealed as a large smile formed on your face and your eyes lit up. You flung your arms around him for a hug after he nodded his head. He allowed only a few seconds of shock before he returned the embrace.

“We should probably get going.” Tony stated while sending a haughty smirk over your head To Loki, who merely rolled his eyes. You excitedly bobbed your head as you let him lead you out the lab door.

“They are so cute!” You squeaked as you took in all the fluffy goodness surrounding you. Your eyes were everywhere as you searched for the perfect kitty. You sat on your legs beside the cage of a small orange kitten. You wiggled your fingers at it, but when it refused to respond you shrugged your shoulders and moved on to the next cage. Tony watched in silent amusement as you repeated the action with every single feline in the store. It took nearly an hour, in which Tony did not complain once, but you finally held a sleek cat in your arms.

“Does it have to be black?” Tony whined as the small animal cracked open a green eye. Anger formed in the pit of his stomach as you nodded with a smile. It figures you would pick the cat version of Loki. He mentally sighed as he paid for the cat you were currently cooing over.

“Thanks Tony.” Your voice was gentle as you came up behind him and wrapped your free arm around him. He twisted in your arm so he could smile down at you but before he could do much of anything else you leaned up and pressed a soft kiss on his cheek.

“You have to shift into an animal to get kisses, while all I have to do is be me.” Tony declared happily as he laughed in Loki’s frowning face.

“Yes, but now she has a cat, that will sleep with her, that will see her most of the day and I can easily pretend to be that cat.” Loki’s face took on an eerie grin as he plotted what all he could accomplish now.

“I hate you.”
