17.) Beach Week

Our class somehow won a free trip to a nearby beach, so right now Nathan and I are getting packed for tomorrow.

"I can't wait!" I cheer, sitting on the rail in Nathan's room.

"I don't really wanna go," Nathan admits, packing a few clothes. "And would you please stop sitting on the rail like that? You look like your hero self. You and Chat sit the same way."

"Why don't you wanna go?" I ask. "And so? It's comfortable that way in the suit. It kinda makes me sit like this now."

"I don't wanna go because I'll feel exposed to all my classmates," Nathan says. "And it doesn't help that we have a photoshoot there at the same time."

"Luckily we only have to do it for one day," I say. "We get a whole week, so I'm not really bothered by it. Exposed? Why? Your body looks good. After weeks of being Zorro, you have grown toned."

"Yeah!" Zorra huffs. "Your body looks as good as a model!"

"Zorra, I am a model..." Nathan sighs.

"Oh, right. I knew that..."

Flamme and I laugh.

"I'm glad you think I look good," Nathan says.

"Definitely better than you did before," Flamme says. "You were a scrawny, dorky little guy. Now, you're a big muscly guy!"

"Gee, thanks," Nathan says sarcastically. "Don't you need to get packed?"

"Nope, I already finished," I say, standing up and begin walking across the rail.

"Please be careful!" Nathan fusses.

"I'll be fine, Nathan. I've taken gymnastics since I was able to walk. I've taken ninjutsu for 7 years. Then last, but certainly not least, I'm a superhero!" I fuss back.

He sighs. "I know."

"Then stop worrying so much," I say, backflipping off the rail onto the couch below. "That's my job."

"I can't wait for the beach either!" Zorra exclaims, flying towards me. Zorra and Flamme begin swirling around me as we celebrate.

"I haven't been to the beach in a long while," I admit. "I think the last time I went was before our parents' business hit off."

"It's really been that long?" Nathan asks.

"Yeah, I usually settle for the pool in the basement."

"We have a pool?!" Nathan fusses.

I giggle. "You didn't know?"

"No! Otherwise, I wouldn't of been so shocked!" he fusses.

I laugh. "Then let's get suited up and let's get down there!"

~~~
After having fun in the pool, I return to my room to take a shower. I clean myself and dry off after finishing. Suddenly Flamme comes rushing into the bathroom right as I finish wrapping myself.
"Mira!" Flamme shouts.
"Flamme? What's wrong?" I ask.
"You have a visitor!"
"Visitor? Who?"
"A certain alley cat."
"Oh, jeez..." I sigh. "Well, what am I supposed to do? My clothes are out there!"
"Well, I can't help you!"
"Ugghh!" I huff. "Stupid cat."
"How are you gonna get out?" Flamme asks.
I sigh and head to the door, opening it slightly. "Hey, kitty cat?"
"Purrincess!" his voice perks up. "What's wrong?"
"I kinda need to get dressed..."
"U-uh o-oh...." he says. "Oh! I k-know! How about I choose something for you to wear?!"
"I-I don't think that's such a good idea..."
"Oh, pish posh. I'm better at picking out clothes than you'd think!" he says.
"I bet you could..." I mutter. "Fine, go ahead..."
"Sweet!" he cheers and rushes off to my closet. "Ooh! You have a lot of pretty clothes!"
"Of course I do, I'm a model! Don't choose anything ridiculous!" I fuss. "All I need are pajamas, nothing dressy!"
I can hear the cunning in his reply. "Don't worry, purrincess. I won't." After a while, he comes down and places the clothes into my outstretched hand. "I'm sure I won't disappoint."
I shut the door behind me with a click of the lock, looking at the clothes. "Not bad."
"Now hurry and get dressed! I have something to tell you!"
"It sounds like he's come to profess his love to you!" Flamme teases, turning away with his eyes closed.
"Flamme! Oh jeez," I whisper with a sigh, changing into the clothes Chat gave me which included undergarments. I groan. "This is so embarrassing..."
"Not as embarrassing as Kitsune seeing me naked," Chat comments from the other side of the door.
My face heats up. "K-Kitsune s-saw you n-naked?"
"We weren't ourselves," Chat says. "We got really sick and turned into our animal selves."
"O-oh yeah, I r-remember that from the news."
"Please, don't find it embarrassing."
I step out of the room after changing, not looking him in the eye. "There's no way I can't not be embarrassed. What did y-you come here to talk to me about?"
"I hear that you're going on a trip for a week," he says.
"Yes, I am," I say. "Our class won a free trip to the beach for a week? Are you coming with?"
He gasps. "W-what do you mean by that?"
"I figure you are around my age," I admit. "I wondered if you were in the same grade as I."
"I-I- um..." he awkwardly scratches the back of his head. "Do you know who I am?"
"How would I know that if you don't tell me?" I ask.
He sighs in relief. "I thought I gave it away..."
I choose to ignore me hearing him, otherwise, I'd give myself away. "So I'm gonna take that as a no?"
"No, I'm not going," he lies.
"Aww," I pretend to be sad. "Will you miss me while I'm gone, chaton?"
"Dearly," he replies.
Suddenly my door swings open and Chat hides. "Mira!"
I turn around at Nathan's voice. "Nathan? You okay?"
I hear Chat sigh in relief as he steps out from behind the curtain. "It's just your brother."
"Chat Noir?!" Nathan fusses, making sure Zorra is hidden. "Mira, what is he doing here?"
"He heard about the trip we're taking," I say.
"Again, I ask, what is he doing here?" Nathan complains.
"What are you doing here?" I ask Nathan.
"I came to ask you if I should pack more than one bathing suit," Nathan says.
"One should be good," I say. "We should be able to use all the bathing suits that come with the shoot too. We should have more to come. It's best to wear a different bathing suit every day to help show off our parent's business."
"Is it true that we have to model with your boyfriend too?" Nathan asks.
I feel my face heat up, especially since who he's talking about is in the same room.
"She has a boyfriend?" Chat asks.
"Idiot..." I hear Flamme mumble from my sleeve.
"Yeah, this guy we go to school with. His name's Adrien Agreste. Of course, you would probably already know that since you basically stalk my sister," Nathan scoffs.
I see Chat smirk. "Oh, reaaally?"
"He's not my boyfriend!" I fuss. "You're not funny, Nathan! Get out and go finish packing!" I chase him out the room. He giggles the whole way.
"So you like blonds with green eyes?" Chat teases. "So I have a chance?"
"As if," I scoff. "I'm not dating Adrien, he's just a friend. You out of all people should know that."
"H-huh?! W-why's that?" he squeaks.
"Because you always watch me," I say. "Like my brother said."
"Oh... Oh, yeah, about your brother, why doesn't he like me?" he asks.
"Why do you think that?"
"It felt that way."
"Sure you're imagining things," I lie, looking at my clock. "Hey, Chat? Don't you have somewhere to be?"
He looks at the clock on my wall to find that it's almost meet up time. "OH crap! Kitsune will kill me if I'm late!" He walks up to me and kisses my hand. "Have a safe trip, purriness. Adieu!" He quickly leaves from my balcony.
I head to Nathan's room. "Hey, Nath?"
"Please don't kill me I was just messing with you!" he shouts, hiding behind the couch in his room which looks a lot like mine.
I laugh evilly. "I have to go on patrol right now. I'll kill you when I get back..." I growl, heading out the room back into mine. Once inside, I laugh. "That idiot. Alright, Flamme! Let's go!"
"Ready!" he says, coming to me.
"Flamme, tricks out!" I shout, leaping off the balcony mid-transformation and blasting off to the Eiffel Tower.
"Looks like you're a little late, little vixen," Chat says once I land beside him.
"Had to pack for our class trip," I say with the pop of the p.
"Is that my little hint for the akuma from yesterday?" he asks.
"Yes, now let's go patrol," I say, leaping off the tower.
...
The next day arrives and we all arrive at school early to get the bus loaded up. Our whole grade is coming and we're using only one charter bus. That one bus can hold our whole grade. We have a small amount of kids for our grade.
"Mira? You okay?" Nathan asks.
"Yeah, patrol was long last night. We had lots of burglaries," I whisper.
"Guess it's good that you can sleep on the bus then," Nathan says.
"And that's exactly what I'm planning to do."
"Alright! My homeroom, gather around!" Miss Bustier says with a hat in hand. "Our class gets the very back seats of the bus and to not have a fuss over who gets what seat, we will draw numbers from this bag. The person who has the same number as you will be your buddy on the bus. The number also is what row you will be in. Three people will have the same number because the very back row has three seats. Let's get this settled."
How is that I get put with Adrien? Honestly, it's ridiculous! Marinette got paired with my brother. Sabrina and Chloe, luckily. Alix and Kim. Rose and Juleka. Nino, Alya, and Max. Ivan and Mylene. Even though it was all drawn fair and square, it all feels set up. It's like a certain someone wrote it that way.
"So, Mira, do you want the window seat?" Adrien asks.
"Please," I plead. "I'm gonna take a nap."
"As long as you don't mind me falling asleep on you," he says.
"Huh?"
"Sorry," he chuckles. "I meant it as a precaution because I didn't get much sleep last night, so I might fall asleep on you."
"I won't be mad at you if you just fall asleep during the conversation because I probably will too." I smile at him before grabbing my bag, pillow, and blanket as we all get on the bus. "That is if we even have one."
I hear Adrien mutter something behind me, but I don't hear it over the other students as we get to our seats. "That's not what I meant..."
I prop my pillow against the window and cover myself with my blanket. "I'm not gonna waste any time and get right to sleep. I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted."
~~~

My eyes slowly open to an unfamiliar surrounding until I remember that we're on a charter bus to the beach. I look beside me just to come face to face with Adrien. I make a quick intake of breath as I feel my face heat up. His eyes are closed and his breathing is even, meaning he's asleep on my side. He propped up on his own pillow which is leaning on my hip. I let out the breath I was holding. This must be what he meant. He must be exhausted from patrol last night too. It was a long night. I turn to the other side to look outside to see nothing but trees. I look around the rest of the bus to see nearly everyone asleep. A few remain awake but further up away from me.

"You awake?" Flamme asks, coming from my bag.

"Yeah, well rested," I say.

Plagg floats out from Adrien's shirt to join us.

"Mira? Do you have any cheese?" Plagg asks.

"Actually, I think I do," I say, pointing out my bag of snacks. "Flamme can you get that. I don't want to wake up Adrien."

"Yeah." Flamme lifts the lunchbox full of an assortment of different foods and places it on the seat in front of me.

I rummage through the bag and pull out a wheel of camembert. "Here."

"Yes!" Plagg cheers, grabbing it and sitting on my side, the part Adrien isn't taking up, to eat.

"I got you some blueberries," I say, giving them to Flamme. "Zorra, come eat."

Flamme sits on the small patch of seat left in front of me.

Zorra races up and sits beside Flamme to eat them. "Thanks, Mira!"

"Tikki?" I whisper. "Tikki! I have some cookies if you want some. Everyone's asleep."

She floats over, sitting herself next to Plagg as I hand her a cookie. "Thanks, Mirabelle!"

"Hi, sugarcube!" Plagg perks up.

"Plagg, I told you not to call me that!" Tikki huffs.

I eat a cookie myself as I watch the Kwamis talk and eat amongst themselves.

I hear Adrien mumble something from beside me. "Purriness, don't... do it..."

"Huh?" I say confused, looking to him.

"He talks in his sleep a lot," Plagg says. "Usually about you or Kitsune. Sometimes it'll be him fighting with Zorro."

I giggle. "That's cute."

"It's not cute, it's annoying. I can never get any sleep with his mumbling," Plagg complains. "Sometimes he'll just bolt straight up and shout whatever, startling me awake."

"He has nightmares?" I ask.

"About losing you, Ladybug, Kitsune, and rarely of Zorro."

"This is the first I've heard of this," I say.

"He doesn't like to talk about it," Plagg says. "I mean who else could he tell besides me?"

"Kitsune," I say.

"He feels as if he'll make you worry about him if he tells you," Plagg says.

"I always worry about him," I say, concerned. "That goes for my brother and Marinette too. I'm also worried about what might happen since all four of us are going on this trip. What if Hawkmoth attacks Paris while we're gone?"

"I feel that he'll stop once he realizes that nobody is coming to help," Tikki says. "That is if he does."

"Not really helping, Tikki," I chuckle, handing her another cookie.

"Thank you!" she squeaks and begins munching on her cookie.

"You're welcome," I whisper, trying not to wake Adrien.

"Do you ever have any nightmares?" Plagg asks.

"I wouldn't call them nightmares just bad dreams. I have those every once in awhile but not really," I say.

"I feel Adrien is carrying a heavy weight on his shoulders," Plagg says. "I don't know why he does."

"It's just a guy thing," Zorra says, mouth full as she munches on a blueberry. She swallows the fruit and continues. "Nathan does the same thing every once in awhile. Boys are all just a bunch of worrywarts."

I giggle quietly. "That's very true."

"Yeah, Marinette occasionally will have a nightmare about losing one of you, but it's not common," Tikki says.

"Boys that care are the ones that worry most," Flamme says. "Just to let you know, everyone now has a picture of you and Adrien sleeping together."

"That's so embarrassing!" I fuss and have an idea, pulling out my phone. "Flamme take pictures of Nathan and everyone else sleeping together."

He grins. "Hai!" He takes my phone and begins to snap all the bus seat couples. "Alright, completed!"

I scan through all of the pictures before I send them to everyone. "Payback's a bitch."

"Language, Mirabelle!" Tikki fusses with me.

"So, you're one of those Kwamis," I fuss.

"She does what she wants, Tikki," Flamme says.

"Yeah, yeah..." Tikki huffs.

I feel Adrien stir and watch his eyes slowly open. The Kwamis quickly disperse.

"You finally awake, sleepyhead?" I ask, looking at him.

"Purriness, you look lovely..." he yawns, rubbing his eyes then widens them. "Oops... Uh..." He quickly sits up, turning his face away from mine.

"If you keep saying things like that, I'm going to start thinking that you are Chat Noir," I mumble, but he obviously hears because he turns around. I adjust myself to sit upright.

"Uh... Haha, you like my Chat Noir impression?" he asks.

I sigh and laugh. Impression my butt... "Who wakes up and says something like that?"

"Me apparently," he sighs in relief.

"You've been on that Ladyblog too much," I chuckle. "Making googly eyes at the female superheroes."

"Maybe so," he admits, looking around. "Looks like everyone's asleep."

"Yeah, we had to get up too early," I chuckle.

"Very true."

"It seems as if we have a few more hours before we arrive," I say, reading a passing sign.

"How do you know?"

"I just read a sign," I say as if obvious.

"Oh right..."

"Well, I'm gonna go back to sleep," I admit. "Just wanted a quick snack." I pack all the snacks up and put them back in my bag. "Night or whatever you call it when it's not nighttime." I rearrange my pillow and pull my blanket up to my neck then close my eyes. I feel Adrien's eyes on me, and I even my breaths out to seem as if I'm asleep.

"She falls asleep fast," Adrien says. "It's a good thing she didn't connect the pieces."

"You need to stop acting like your hero self in front of her or she will find out," Plagg scolds. "Idiot."

"I know," Adrien says. "She just brings out my other side."

"That's great and all, but can you trust her?" Plagg asks.

I feel his gaze turn to me. "I believe I can, but I won't until I'm ready to tell her."

That's the last thing I hear before I fall asleep.

~~~
The next time I wake, we have arrived at the hotel. I nudge Adrien awake. He rubs his eyes with his arm, which I find strangely attractive.
"We have arrived," I tell him, rubbing the sleep from my eyes as well.
He blinks for a few seconds, trying to let his eyes adjust. "Where?"
"The hotel, silly. Do you not remember?" I ask.
"Oh... Right..." he chuckles. "It's dark."
"It's nighttime," I say.
"Wow, you guys must've been really tired," Nino's voice comes from behind us. "You guys slept the whole trip."
"The exhausting life of a rich kid," Adrien and I say, looking at each other after and chuckle.
"Don't forget about Marinette and Nathan," Alya says from beside him. "They've been asleep most of the trip too."
"My brother is still trying to get used to the modeling life," I say. "It wears him out occasionally."
"She's not lying," my brother's voice responds sleepily. We watch him rub his eyes to clear the crusties. "I don't understand why it does but it does."
Miss Bustier walks down from the front to us. "We have arrived at the hotel. Principal Damocles is checking us all in right now. We're heading out now to get our luggage then wait while he finishes checking us in."
We all stand-up, grabbing whatever stuff we brought with us and head out to the side of the bus to grab our larger luggage.
"I really hope they serve blueberries for breakfast," Nathan whispers to me after getting his luggage.
"Me too."
I see Miss Bustier come up to us. "Mirabelle and Nathaniel, you are going to room together since you're brother and sister and that there's an uneven amount of boys and girls. Are you two okay with that?"
I look at Nathan and smile as he smiles back. "I think that would be fine. It would probably be best to do it that way anyway for the shoot tomorrow. We can get ready together."
She smiles. "Glad you're okay with it. I'll get that put together right away." She heads off to wherever.
"Well that makes everything a lot easier," Nathan says. "We won't have to keep our Kwamis hidden from others."
"For real though," I sigh. "What a stroke of luck."
We all eventually get our room key cards and all head to our rooms.
"I call getting the window bed!" Flamme shouts.
I give him a little high five. "Oh yeah! Dibs!"
"No fair!" Nathan fusses, throwing his stuff on the bed closest to the door.
I throw my stuff on the bed and head out to the balcony to see our view of the sea. "Wow! How beautiful!"
I hear Nathan shuffle out behind me as Zorra and Flamme float beside us. "Paris may be beautiful but there's something better about seeing the neverending vast of sea."
"Definitely," I respond.
"Are you tired?" Nathan asks.
"Def not," I respond. "I slept the whole trip, so I'm wide awake. Wanna explore after the room checks?"
He grins. "Sounds fun to me."
After all the room checks are completed, we transform and leave to the beach.
...
The next morning, we're awoken to knocking coming from our door.
"Nathaniel and Mirabelle, it's time to get ready. Your modeling session begins in two hours," Gabrielle's voice comes from the other side.
I lazily sit up, rubbing my eyes. "Alright, we're up and moving."
"Good," she says and we listen to her fading footsteps.
"You can take the shower first," I say. "I take a while."
He chuckles. "I know." He gathers his things and heads into the bathroom.
"Meanwhile," I say, looking at Flamme. "Wanna go mess with Chat?"
"You know where his room is?" Flamme asks.
"Yeah, it's right next door," I say. "I thought you knew at least that."
"It's true!" Zorra perks up. "Just visited! Nino just went to shower."
"Purrfect," I say, transforming. I leap from our balcony to his and knock on his door. Zorra follows us by sitting on my shoulder. We see the curtains shuffle and Adrien's face appears.
"K-Kitsune!" Adrien fusses, opening the door. "What are you doing here?!"
"Hello, chaton! I wanted to greet you good morning," I say with a wink, walking into the room. "Just wanted to tell you that I'll be watching you model today. I'm excited to see the Chat Noir in a swimsuit," I tease.
I watch as his face turns pink. "R-really?"
"Of course," I say and grin mischievously. "I don't know why you're so embarrassed. It's like you've said, 'it's not like I haven't seen you naked.'"
"Y-you can't just–!"
"Hey, Adrien?" Nino's voice calls out.
I hide next to the bed.
"U-uh, y-yeah?" Adrien replies.
"I forgot my shampoo in my bag, could you get it for me?"
"S-sure..." Adrien says, grabbing the shampoo placed on top of a bag and handing it to Nino's outstretched hand.
"Thanks, dude." He closes the door behind him.
Adrien sighs in relief. Plagg comes from wherever he was at and Zorra comes to greet him.
"Your brother's Kwami?"
"He's in the shower, so I decided to come mess with you until he's done," I admit.
"That explains it..." he huffs with an eye roll.
"What?" I ask. "Are you not happy that I'm here?"
"I'm worried you'll be caught by Nino," Adrien huffs. "It's always lovely to see my little vixen though."
I smile. "Good."
"M—Kitsune!" Plagg greets. "Do you have any cheese?!"
"It's back in my room," I say, slightly glaring at him for the slip up. "I'll bring it next time."
His ears droop. "Aww..."
"You eat too much cheese, Plagg," Zorra says.
"There's no such thing as too much!" Plagg huffs.
I chuckle. "Now I don't need you two to fight like your holders do," I comment.
"Jeez, they fight over the stupidest things," Zorra huffs.
"Very true," I laugh. "Well, Zorra, let's go. I believe Zorro is out of the shower now, meaning it's my turn." Zorra floats over back to my shoulder. "I'll see you later, my kitty." I leave back to my room, making sure Adrien isn't watching.
"Mirabelle?" Nathan calls.
"Yeah?" I reply, detransforming.
"Your turn," he says, coming into the room from the bathroom.
"Alright, be out later," I say, gathering my things to take a shower and making sure my shaver is in the mix of items.
~~~

After eating breakfast, we all head to the beach to play. Except, Adrien, my brother, and I don't get to play and instead have to model. Nathan and I left our Kwamis in the room to do whatever. Most of the students stick around to watch from a distance. Before us stands many different people, costume, makeup, photographer, bodyguards, and our assistants, Gabrielle and Nathalie.

"Here," a dresser shoves bathing suits into our arms. "The changing tents are over there. One is for girls and one for boys. Go."

"I'll take this tent," I say, heading inside. I change and head back out, apparently finishing before the guys. "Where do you want me to go?"

"Go down to the water," the photographer says, picking up a few things while his assistants grab the rest and heading down to the water.

I follow behind them and Alya and Marinette come up to me while I wait for the boys.

"Girl, how are you guys so ripped?" Alya asks both Marinette and I.

Crime fighting. "Have to," I reply.

"Trade secrets," Mari says with a wink.

"Yeah, okay, that makes sense," Alya says, referring to me. "But when do you ever have time to work out, Mari?"

"Secret!" Mari squeaks with a laugh.

"Ooh, speaking of working out, damn," Alya says, nudging Mari. We turn to what she's looking at to see Adrien and Nathan walking towards us.

"Damn indeed," I admit.

I watch Nathan smirk with confidence until he sees Marinette and immediately flushes. I look back at Mari to see her just as red as Nathan. I look back to the two and my eyes drift to Adrien. Holy hot damn. Adrien notices my gaze and his face flushes. I don't know if it's from me looking at him or the fact that I'm in a bikini. I immediately feel my face flush as well.

"Mirabelle, Nathan, Adrikins!" Chloe's voice shouts, rushing up to us. "Look at the bathing suit I bought for the trip!"

"You look nice, Chloe," Adrien says, trying to be nice.

"Of course I do!" she says, sauntering off with Sabrina in tow.

"Weirdo..." Nathan says.

"At least she doesn't have a cheesy nickname for you," Adrien comments.

I snicker. "Yet."

Nathan groans. "Please don't say that..."

We all snicker as our photographer shoos Alya and Mari away. "Alright, let's get this photoshoot rolling!"

"You know, I wonder if the free trip was jinxed by our parents?" I wonder out loud as we pose for the camera.

"Maybe so," Adrien says.

"Something's not right," the photographer says, pausing taking pictures.

"Is something wrong?" I ask.

"We need another girl," he admits. "One girl just doesn't work with two boys."

"We don't have another female model," Gabrielle perks up.

"No, but I know the perfect person!" I squeal, running off.

"Mirabelle!" Gabrielle shouts behind me.

I run up to Marinette. "Mari! Come with me!"

"Why? Wha–?!"

I grab her arm and pull her behind me, taking her away from a confused Nino and Alya. "Just come with me! We need you!"

"What for?!"

"Another girl!" I reply, pulling her all the way to the changing rooms. I grab one of the bikinis and shove it and her into a changing room. "Hurry and put that on!"

"Why?"

"Just do it!" I huff.

"Fine."

After a few minutes, she comes out.

"Perfect!" I say, grabbing her arm and tugging her to the shoot. "She can be our other girl!"

The photographer examines her. "She has a good body, very much like a model. Great! Makeup! Hair! Get busy!"

Marinette is whisked off to get prettied up.

"The perfect person also happens to be who I like," Nathan mumbles. "Coincidence? I think not!"

"You like Marinette?" Adrien questions.

"Oh crap, I said that out loud?" Nathan asks.

I nod my head with a laugh. "Nath, I did it for you. You should be happy!"

Adrien grins and looks at me. "So, are we gonna set them up?"

"Definitely," I respond with a grin of my own, fist bumping Adrien.

After a few minutes, Marinette comes out and Adrien and I immediately pair up.

"New girl, pair up with Nathan," the photographer instructs.

Adrien and I snicker at their red faces as they not so secretly check each other out.

"Looks like they might need some sunscreen," I tease.

"That might be for the best," the photographer says, calling someone over.

"N-no! I-I'm fine!" Mari squeaks.

"Where's that confident flair my little brother uses during photo shoots?" I ask him.

He sighs and tries to regain his confidence. Tries being the key word here. "Mira!"

I giggle. "Okay!" I walk up to him and whisper in his ear. "Imagine you're Zorro."

He sighs. "That's easy for you to say..."

"Of course, I've been doing this way longer than you have," I say. "And remember, you've been doing this a lot longer than Marinette, so you need to show her the ropes. She's counting on you."

He sighs and his confidence slowly returns. "Fine."

"Alright, let's do this!" I cheer.

~~~
After the interestingly awkward photo shoot, we had fun with our classmates on the beach. Marinette, Alya, and I built a sandcastle while Nino, Adrien, and my brother went with Kim to try to boogie board. We are free to do whatever we want until 9 o'clock, when we have to meet up at the hotel to get ready for dinner at 10. We have to get dressed up all fancy for this dinner because it's at one of the fanciest restaurants at this beach.
"Hey, you guys hungry?" Nino asks with Nathan and Adrien in tow, carrying their boogie boards under one arm.
I look at the time on my phone to see it's 2 o'clock. "I could get a bite."
Marinette's stomach growls in response and she chuckles shyly. "I guess that's my answer."
"Sure, I could go for some food," Alya agrees. "Where are we going?"
"I could go for some pizza," Marinette says.
"Eh, not really feeling pizza," I complain.
"I could go for a sandwich," Adrien suggests.
"Ooh, that sounds good," I say.
"I could go for pizza too," Nathan says.
"I'm not that hungry, so a hotdog stand will work for me," Alya says.
"So glad I'm not the only one!" Nino cheers. "I guess Alya and I will stay here with our stuff. There's a hotdog stand right over there."
"I guess Adrien and I will go find a sandwich place," I admit. "Marinette and Nath can find a pizza place."
"Sounds like a plan, dudes," Nino says. "I'll go get the hotdogs. Alya, do you want anything on it?"
I don't hear her response as it's drowned out by all the people that Adrien and I are weaving through after I grabbed his arm and ran.
"Whoa, Mira slow down!" Adrien shouts.
I stop and he runs into my back. "I found a sandwich shop."
"What?" he asks confused and looks around. "Subway?"
"Have you never been?"
"No, I don't eat out a lot."
"Then you're in for a treat."
~~~

After eating lunch, we wander around, looking at all the shops.

"This is nice," Adrien comments.

"What?"

"Being able to relax," he admits. "Being able to walk around with you and just having fun. I never get to do anything like this at home."

"I get what you mean," I reply. "Do you ever wish that you weren't born into a rich family?"

"All the time."

"Me too. It's a reason I feel a little jealous of Nathan sometimes. He was born from a rich family but he wasn't brought up as one. He grew up normal and was put into it. I feel bad for him."

Adrien chuckles. "That's just like you."

"What?"

"To be worried and jealous at the same time," he says.

We enter a nearby store which turns out to be a candy store.

I puff my cheeks out in annoyance. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing bad. It's just... cute in your own sort of way."

I turn away from him to look at the candy to hide my growing pink face. I completely forget about what he said as I spot the candy in front of me. "Jelly Bellies!"

"Jelly beans?" Adrien says, looking at all of the jelly beans on the wall. "Do you like jelly beans?"

"Love them!" I exclaim. "Strawberry shortcake is my favorite!"

"I haven't tried that one."

I pick one out from the container and bring it up to his mouth. "Here, try it."

His ears turn a little pink as he opens his mouth. I quickly pop it in and wait for his reaction as he slowly chews. "Mmm, yummy."

I chuckle. "I know right. I'm gonna fill a bag up. You should get something too."

"I'm not allowed to eat candy."

"Neither am I," I snicker, filling a whole bag full of my jelly beans. I grab another bag and fill it with watermelon for Nathan. "What's your favorite flavor?"

"Toasted marshmallow."

"Haven't tried that one," I admit. "Of course, I haven't tried most of them."

He takes one out of the case and does the same thing I did to him. "Here, try one."

I gladly accept it. "It tastes just like a toasted marshmallow!"

He laughs at my expression. "Of course it does."

We get our candy and leave, walking around aimlessly like before. We end up at a park full of people.

"Oh my God! Is that Adrien Agreste?!" a girl squeals.

"And look who he's with!" another shouts.

"It's Mirabelle Renard!"

"Time to run?" Adrien suggests.

"Time to run," I confirm.

We bolt out of there and end up under a bridge still in the park, away from the horde of people. We begin to laugh after all the fangirls and boys pass overhead of us across the bridge.

"That was close," Adrien says.

"Too close."

"We should head back to the beach," he says.

"Which way is that?" I ask.

He chuckles awkwardly. "I-I have no idea..."

After a while, we eventually find our way back to the beach, only to realize that it's time to go get ready for the dinner tonight.

"Where were you guys?" Nino asks.

"We got lost," I admit, pulling out the jelly beans for my brother. "I got you some jelly beans."

"Sweet!" Nathan cheers, grabbing the bag and eating a few.

"Have you asked her yet?" Nino asks Adrien in a whisper, but I still hear it.

"Oh, I forgot!" Adrien exclaims and rushes up to me. He chuckles awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Umm, w-would you be m-my date for the dinner tonight?"

"D-date?" I ask. "This is a d-dinner date dinner?"

"Yeah, only the guys were informed so we'd ask the girls," Nino says.

"What if we were lesbian? That's kinda unfair to them," I admit. "Not that I am! I was just saying!"

Alya and Marinette laugh. "You haven't answered him," Alya says.

"Oh!" I exclaim and turn back to Adrien. "I would love to!"

"Awesome!" Adrien and Nino cheer.

I walk up to Nathan and whisper to him. "Did you ask Marinette?"

"Yes, and she said yes."

"Awesome."

"Alya and Nino are going together too."

"I figured. I gathered that much."

~~~
After getting ready for the dinner, we are all on the bus, heading to the fancy diner. We arrive and all separate to our 'dates.'
"Is that a dress from–?"
"One of the fashion lines? Yes," I nod. "I'm assuming the same goes for your tux."
"Yep," Adrien confirms. "Well, you look very beautiful in it."
"I could say the same to you," I laugh. "I-I mean handsome! N-not beautiful cause t-that's weird to say to a guy u-unless he's trans or whatever, but you're not so...!"
Adrien snickers. "I understood what you meant."
"Good, I'm glad that's cleared up," I sigh.
The night ended with laughs and delicious food.
