Chapter One: Ball Preperations
Every six months, a ball was held. During this ball, royalty from all over the world would gather under one castle, enjoy a good drink, and for once, be care free. The said ball just so happens to be happening tonight, and this year, it's to be held in the Franco-British castle.

This years ball really snuck up on us, Alex thought to herself. At least Father and I still have time to hide the magic books. God knows what would happen if word got out that magic is practiced in the castle, it'd be havoc.
Knock
Knock
She jumped in surprise, quickly hiding her spell books under the bed.
"Who is it?" She asked.
"It's your father." Arthur's English accent spoke from the other side of the door.
"Which one?" Alex giggled, she could tell by the accent it was Arthur, but it was fun to joke.
"The French one." The Englishman said in the worst French accent ever.
Alex laughed at the the 'accent'. "Come in."
Arthur smiled, walking in and closing the door behind him. He didn't want any of the guards or servants overhearing the conversation, especially none of their relations. Well, at least the ones they weren't close to. Davie, Joan, and Elizabeth already knew that members of the family posses magic, and they've done outstanding at keeping it a secret.
"Do you have your spell-books hidden yet?" He asked his daughter.
She nodded. "Yes Father," she replied. "Have you?" A nod came from the king. "Good."
Down in the kitchen, Francis was assisting the chefs, or attempting to anyway. Sometimes he hated being royalty, it met he couldn't cook most of the time!
Matthew had been watching from the doorframe. He rolled his eyes at his father.
"Come on Papa, you need to get ready." He walked over to the Frenchman, taking his hand and leading him out.
"You should be on my side Matthew," Francis told his son. "My cooking is way better then theirs, right?"
"Oui, of course Papa," Matthew smiled, giving the Frenchman a kiss on the cheek. "But we need to get ready, or else Father will get mad at you." He giggled.
"True, true..."

Later that night, the royal household had finished preparations. Then, the carriages arrived.
To be continued.
