Chapter 15

I wanna clear something up before people start asking cuz it might be confusing. X3 So, Astral took the form of a Barian, and the reason I call him "he with no name" is because Astral is in a different body; therefore, he is technically another person. Since that person has no name, he's called "he with no name." :3

King Pluto automatically jumped to his feet, startling the one with no name. As soon as Pluto saw this stranger, he drew his sword.

"Who are you and what do you want?" the king demanded.

The being looked up at him and said in a hushed tone, "Prince Astral of the Cosmic Kingdom, known by your guards as Ortza. I came to help."

"With what?" Minerva asked as she delicately stepped out of the bed. "Kai has succeeded in making the castle his, with the servants ignorant to his deeds."

"I can help," he insisted. "If I can wake up Black Mist and Vector, then they'll be able to help, too. Black Mist has some information that he would like you to know, as well, Pluto." He didn't know how he knew that Black Mist and Vector were asleep. He just had a feeling, and he was never wrong to ignore strong feelings like this one. "If you can distract Kai while I undo the spell, he can tell you."

The king and queen of the Obscure Kingdom shared a glance, thought it over for a second, and nodded. The first thing was to seek out Kai, which would be easy enough. Minerva was skilled in summoning creatures, particularly snakes, out of the special black ooze all 96s possessed, so she summoned one and sent it out. The disguised prince then closed his eyes and sent them out to the snake so he could see.

The snake slithered throughout the halls, unseen and undetected. Finally, it stopped at an opened room, where Kai was sitting beside Black Mist's bed. He was saying something that couldn't exactly be made out, not with the snake's limited knowledge of language. Still, they now knew the location of the traitor. The snake's work was done; it dissolved back into the shadows, returning the eyes back to the owner.

He with no name opened his eyes again and looked at the king and queen. "He is in Black Mist's chamber."

Pluto nodded. "Thank you." He growled. "And to think I trusted the weasel! He and his family will pay. Come, dearest." Pluto and Minerva stormed out of the room, leaving him alone.

He took off his cloak and shifted his form to a Number, particularly the Number 83. The feeling of having a mouth and nose was relieving! Of course, it came with taking the form of a woman, but this form was better suited with weaving spells effortlessly.

Number 83 waited until she was sure the king and queen lured Kai out of the room. Then, as quick as possible, she darted out of the room, down the hall, and into the room if Number 96. She closed the door, barred it, and sat down beside the sleeping form.

~.Unknown.~

The thing beside him was taunting, accusing him of being unable to help, but the thing about spellweavers was that they knew what was real from fake in a dream realm. What Black Mist saw, what he called "Durbe," was nothing more than a dream demon with the voice of a childhood friend, to who he felt no connection. Any other person would see the owner of the voice, but not sorcerers.

Suddenly, everything went dark. That was new. Black Mist wondered what was happening until he saw a Number 83 standing over him with eyes full of wisdom. That wisdom was familiar...

"Black Mist?" The being formed back to his first form in the Obscure. "Are you okay?"

"Astral?" Somehow, he knew it was Astral in there. "How did you come here?"

"My body is still home, but I made myself a vessel to come here. We do not have much time here, though. Where is Vector?"

"I don't know, but I'm sure we'll find him somewhere in here."

The nameless one nodded. "I haven't the time, though. You have to do it yourself, Blackie. Here." He touched Black Mist's forehead and gave him the knowledge of how to shake Vector out of the dream. "It doesn't require a spell. Just a little push."

Black Mist nodded. "I think I can do this."

"Your mother and father are distracting Kai at the moment," he said just as his body was disappearing. His eyes curled into a smile. "Farewell." They hugged before he completely disappeared.

~.Pluto and Minerva.~

Pluto sat at his throne as Minerva scouted the area, discreetly directing Kai to the throne room with her pits of snakes. Soon enough, there he was.

"Uncle, Aunt," he said smoothly, as if nothing was wrong. "How are you feeling?"

"Cut the bullshit," Pluto snapped calmly, using the language Black Mist loved so much. "I know what you want, and you will not get it."

"What would that be, dear Uncle?"

Minerva, with a graceful sway in her hips, made her way to her own throne. "You want our throne. You want your family to rule. This is fairly evident."

"My, my, I do not understand. I-"

"Well understand this." Pluto suddenly stood to his full, imposing height and drew his sword. "I will deal with you, and then I will go after your family, just as you wrongfully killed Vector's family!"

"Wrongly? Dear uncle, he and my little cousin helped a Cosmic escape. That is counted as treason, is it not?"

"Then you should have brought the matter to me, and I would have handled it better!" With a heavy hand, one that could crush just about anything, he forced Kai to his knees. Kai obviously put up a struggle, but ultimately, he was forced to his knees. "And for your incompetence, you will perish!"

Kai only grinned, and then there was blackness that erupted from his chest. The next thing they knew, he was gone.

~.~.~

Black Mist and Vector hurried to the throne room only to see a sea of black sweeping around their ankles. Fearing the deaths of the king and queen. As soon as they arrived, though, they only found them confused but intact. Black Mist, in a wave of relief, ran to his father and hugged him, something that hadn't happened ever since he was little.

"I'm glad you're okay!" he nearly sobbed. "I thought he had killed you!"

Pluto was surprised by his son's sudden actions, but he didn't fight it. "No, he did not harm us in any way."

"Black Mist," Minerva spoke up. "Your...friend, I should call him, came to us saying you had something to tell us. Would you like to say it?"

The prince nodded slowly, separating himself from his father. "Astral helped me dig up memories. While we were watching, I noticed something, so we investigated. We then saw Kai with the boy and girl involved in the incident. They seemed to be coordinating the whole thing together."

Pluto nodded. "I see. That is how it is, then." Anger flashed over his features. "And he has escaped!"

Minerva placed her hand on her husband's shoulder to calm him. "Patience, Pluto. We will find him." Her eyes reflected worry. "I worry, though. I fear he has something dreadful planned."

Pluto nodded. "As do I."

~.Cosmic Kingdom.~

Astral awoke, blinking in the light of his room. Zeon was sitting beside him with a smile. "Astral," he playfully scolded. "What have I told you of body shifting?"

Astral chuckled and sat up. "That I should never do it unless it is for a good cause."

"Was it?"

"Of course it was."

"Did you destroy the body you created?"

"Yes, Father."

"Good." He stood up. "Come with us. We need to discuss something with Astralena and Astrid."

"Why?" Astral stood up and followed Zeon out of the room. "Did something happen?"

"Just now, I felt something malicious brewing from afar."

The prince's blood ran cold. "In the direction of the Obscure?"

Zeon shook his head. "No, which is why it is curious. It came from the opposite direction."

"This does not bode well, does it?"

"No, which is why we must address it with the counsel and your mother and sister."

Astral looked down at his hands worriedly. His fingers worked nervously, constructing small, insignificant spells to keep his mind off of the impending doom.

I was listening to Pentatonix while I wrote this! <3 They're amazing!!
