"Fear cuts deeper than swords."

Monica POV

Walking into the kitchen Alexander was standing in front of the stove with an apron on. The sight was somewhat funny as it was way too small on him. He did not even tie it at the back. 

"I hope that food is not going to kill us," William muttered. 

"I can't guarantee that," Alexander said, turning around. He gave me a nod and turned his attention back to his 'cooking'. What a strange man...

William placed his hand on the small of my back guiding me to the table in the kitchen. A loud growl filled the kitchen which made me almost fell off my seat. 

"Oh Hush now, Alpha," William said smirking. "Just because you can't appreciate beauty, does not mean I can't," William mumbled again. Which made Alexander angry. uh...why.

He slammed into William, sending him into the wall at the back of the kitchen. "You dare, William, don't you dare!" he growled. His eyes flaring from their normal blue, to black, to gold. 

"And you say you don't want her, your mate, but a simple small remark sends you and your wolf blazing! Stop kidding yourself, Alex!"

"Alexander! Stop it!" I said, "Please, let William go." 

The idiot did not let him go. He kept growling and snapping at William, daring him to challenge him.

William on the other hand was in a calm state of submission. He did not dare challenge Alexander, his Alpha, his King.

"Stop him, now" Ella snapped me out of my state of horror.

I rushed to his side and without thinking, I placed my arms around him from the back. "please, he did not mean anything by it." I said pleading. At first, he got stiff, then he relaxed, dropping William to the ground.

I pulled my arms away from him, realizing that I just hugged the man who said he never wants to kiss me. Guilt traveled through my mind as I took a few steps back. "I'm sorry," I said, head low, in submission. I was just a lone wolf, who just touched, no hugged the King of the Alphas. "I'm so so sorry, Alpha."

I felt his body against mine as he pushed me into the wall. His breath was out of control and mine was not any better. He lifted my head to face him, his hands sending sparks through my face, eyes locked. Once again the world stopped and it was just the two of us. 

My heart rate was already way past its normal phase. His eyes flashed again, I don't know why but it was beautifully strange. 

"As I said, the sexual tension between you two... it reeks!!" William said from behind Alexander. Which made both of us return from our state of.. well I don't know. 

He took a few steps back and turned to face William. "Did you take your medication today, William" Alexander asked him.

Huh... medication? what is he talking about?

"Shut up Alex!! Don't act like I'm crazy!! I'm hungry!! You promised me a meal if I could get her out of the room." he said pointing at me.

"That does not mean you get to hit on her William!" He snapped again. Gosh... men are so confusing.

A loud crying sound filled the kitchen.  The source. A baby monitor that stood on the kitchen table. 

"I'll get her," I said. 

"second room on the left side," Alexander said to me, continuing his cooking.

I opened the door to Lily's room and turned on the light. Once she saw me she was all smiles, but her face was red, and wet from all the tears. "Hello, my angel," I said picking her up from her bed. She giggled and put her arms around my neck. I took in her sent, she smelled like roses with a hint of mint. I slowly let out a breath and placed a few kisses on her cheek, which made her laugh even more. I grabbed a blanket from her bed and a stuffed teddy bear. "Let's go see daddy," I said placing the blanket over her tiny body. 

"Mama," she said once we entered the kitchen. William gave me a knowing look of 'I told you so' and Alexander kept a close eye on Lily. Her tiny hands reached for Alexander and I handed her over to him, her father.

Dinner was served and I could not believe William said that Alexander never cooked, which by the way I think was a lie, on William's part. I did not talk too much during dinner. I was still confused and Ella was phasing around the entire time, she was restless and that made me on edge. 

After dinner William left, leaving me alone with Alexander and Lily. Currently, we are both on separate couches in the living room.  Alexander put on a movie for Lily, she was laying with her head on my lap, clinging onto her teddy and blanket, her eyes slowly giving into sleep.

Once she was asleep and the movie was at the credits, my eyes were slowly starting to betray me.

I was tired, it was past 10 in the evening and Lily was already asleep. I finally gave in to the sleepy darkness, when the front door slammed open with a loud bang. 

Alexander was on his feet immediately, standing beside me and Lily, who was still blissfully asleep.

I faced the front door, only to see William and Cole. My body relaxed, they weren't bad...so why should I worry about it.

"You need to come. Now, Alpha." William said. He was out of breath... okay, whats with the formalities now?

"NOW." Cole snapped. "They are here, its happening again."

"What is happening?" I butted into the conversation.

Alexander took my wrist and picked Lily up with his other arm. "Come," he growled, dragging me behind him like I was a bag of potatoes he could just drag from the one room to the other...

"I need you and Lily to stay in this room. You do not exit this room, Monica. DO you understand me? This is an order, a command." he said opening a large steel door.

"Why? what is happening? I can help Alexander. Please." I begged, taking Lily from him.

"NO! I won't allow it. You cant even shift." 

"I don't need to shift to be able to help Alpha! I helped Lily without shifting. I'm not useless." I said.

"This is much more dangerous. I won't risk it." he snapped. placing his hand against my face. " I won't risk losing you," he said softly, kissing my forehead, his eyes held too many emotions to tell what he was thinking. 

Okay...hold up. What the hell.

"Careful, Alpha King. Your wolf is showing, again." I said sarcastically, how dare he play with my feelings.

"It's all me," he said, slamming the door and locking me in, not even giving me the opportunity to respond.

Okay, so maybe he was just distracting me from the darn problem at hand. I hate to admit it... it worked.

Alexander POV

I rushed down the stairs, out of the house towards the northern borders. 

"William, send 10 guards to my home. NOW!" I mind linked William. I can't leave them there, defenseless. 

Vampires and darn rogues, working together! For what?! Every time I think they are dealt with they end up coming back. Its been a month this has been going on, back and forth.

I gave over to Zane shifting into my midnight black wolf. I've had more than enough of this. Tonight they will die... all of them.

A group of warriors ran behind me as most of the others are already at the border. The sound of leaves crushing beneath our paws echoed in the forest through the silence. The moon was brighter tonight, lighting the forest a little more than usual.

"William. You need to get all the women and children to safety. I don't know whats going to happen, we need to be prepared" I mind linked him. 

The silence was broken by the crashing sound of bodies being mauled, growls, and the snaring remarks of bloodsuckers! 

The warriors were handling everything pretty well. A second of surprise was on the faces of the enemy as my presence could be felt. I let out a deafening growl alongside Zane. Once Zane starts, there is never a stop to him. He is ruthless, like me, never backing away from a fight. 

I locked eyes with a familiar face... where have I seen this person before... a smirk was placed on her and she vanished. Into thin air. 

I ignored her, linking William to get the word out to Maxine, our pack witch. 

Blood was covering my fur as Zane mulled into the crowd, ripping the heads of twenty-five rogues at a time. I smirked in satisfaction. The warriors were keeping a good fight. They knew to not hold back, but the more we killed the more appeared.  

"They have a portal" William mind linked me, "Maxine is working on closing it."

"That gives me time to play," I said back

BAM! I felt my body slam against one of the territory walls. I stood up to face the idiot who decided to take me while I was not focusing. 

A loud growl echoed through the forest when I saw the guilty parties... Cecile, Tim, and dickhead! What the hell.... since when do they know each other... 

"Wanna play?" Cecile said. "But where is the princess? Or the 'Queen' hmmm, not very original Zander!!" 

I leaped towards them when I was slammed in the face by a fucking tree. 

Gone.. they were fuckin gone!!

"William!!! Where the fuck is Maxine? Why do they keep disappearing?" 

"Teleport. Dark Magic." He linked back.

FUCK!!

Maxine appeared from the Forrest, closing their portal with a big thud and a few hocus pocus words. Thank the Goddess.

Now, let's finish this. 

Within two minutes the remaining rogues and vampires were killed. But then it hit me... why did they make their presence known, then only ask about Lily and Monica, then disappear...

This is not happening.. no. no. no...  FUCK!!! " William!!!" I growled, he knew... thank Goddess he was not that stupid.

Monica POV

The banging sound at the door grew louder and harder. 

then it swung open, only to reveal the last person I would ever expect to see here.

"Well there you are"

HI All. So... who do you think was at the other side of the door?  and who could the possible 3rd person be with Cecile and who is Tim?  I would love to hear your thoughts
