Chapter 2 P.I.E

(L/N)= Last Name
(H/N)= House Number

"This is INSANE! How could I of! What am I going to do?! I can't just turn myself in, too many people would die! It's what he wants! He knows! He knows that this is driving me crazy! He wants to come out again!" Frantically Johnny Ghost had been pacing back and forth just outside Johnny Toasts, rather pink, car. Panicked about what was in store for him as he ran his hands down the sides of his face.

"Calm down sir, I'm sure it'll calm down, no one has gotten a clear shot of...him, yet so your identity is a secret! No need to panic!" Leaning back in the drivers seat Toast gazed at Ghost who seemed to be panicked even more now that he had spoken.

"WHO SAYS IM PANICKING DO I LOOK LIKE IM PANICKING?!" Turning on his heels quickly Ghost had stopped his pacing facing Toast with such wild and wide eyes. He was definitely panicking.

"Just a little bit sir." Toast gave Ghost a smile trying to seem calm, but truthfully the poor Brit was feeling a bit panicked as well, he didn't want to encounter jimmy casket again that's for sure.

"Oh," Ghost blinked taking his hands away from his face only to look up at the sky with a long groan, "what am I going to do? I should lay low for a while. Right? Right. That has to be the best thing to do."

"Well yes normally I'd agree, but it appears that the police have taken a notice to the fact that he hasn't done anything in a while. I suggest sir, that we keep working, maybe everything will smooth out like it always does!" Toast gave another smile and Ghost looked down from the sky biting the inside of his cheek.

This has to be why he's the fan favorite, he's so charming even when we should be freaking out.

Ghost thought bitterly. It was quite from there as he stared at the road, standing beside the car trying to smooth out his breathing.

"Sir?" Toast leaned a bit to get a better look at ghost who seemed to be having a staring contest with the ground beneath him.

What am i going to do? Should I go along with this or should I try to run away and let things calm down for a while. Who am I kidding I can't even relax anywhere and I always some how mange to be in some sort of situation. Just like the time Johnny and I tried to take a vacation to the Bahamas.

"Sir?" Toast tried again to get ghosts attention, but to no avail. He was deep in thought leaving toast to lean back in the drivers seat looking at the steering wheel just waiting for ghost to finish what ever inner monologue he was having inside his head.

BRING.

BRING.

The phone buzzed in toast pocket making him instantly reach for it to answer it while ghost was lost in a world of his own.

"'Ello! You've reached Johnny Toast!" He sounded more chipper than he felt.

"Ah...um." The woman's voice on the other side seemed hesitant like she was thinking about taking back her call. Then she cleared her throat.

"This is P.I.E isn't it?" She sounded a bit strained.

"Why yes it is! What can we be of assistance with!" Toast looked at ghost who was now looking at him curiously.

"This is embarrassing," she sighed on the other end before continuing on, "my house is currently being haunted by some sort of poltergeist? It hasn't been that much of a problem so I've let it be, but lately it's gotten worse the floor boards creak and I hear voices. I've tried all normal methods to get it out but I just can't get it. It's gotten so bad that it seemed to try talking to me in my dreams last night and left me a little too shaken up than I'm comfortable saying?"

"That sounds like a level 6." Ghost had leaned into the car a bit not wanting to get in it fully but was close enough to toast that he could hear the call. Toast gave him a slightly amused look before his attention was returned back to the call.

"So you're asking if we could be of assistance in helping you get it out then, yes?" After a while toast said something, leaving the woman on the other end to sigh relieved a bit. Though she still seemed hesitant.

"Please, id appreciate it."

"Alright! We'll be on our way! Just send us your name and address and we'll be over shortly!" Toast seemed eager now leaving the woman on the other line to sound even more hesitant than she had before, but regardless she agreed and the call had ended there with a text shortly after with her name and address.

"Come on sir! Get in the car." Toast lazily put his phone on the empty cup holders as ghost stared at him and then the car back and forth a few times.

"I told you how I feel about your pink Barbie car." Ghost pulled away from the window with a slightly disgusted look.

"It's not a Barbie car! This is as manly as they come sir!"

"It's PINK." Ghost raised his arms to the car.

"It's not pink!" Toast looked away with a bit of a pout creasing the edges of his lips. Ghost just stared again only to sigh out dramatically as he opened the passenger side door.

"I guess I don't have much of a choice do I?" Sliding in and putting the seatbelt on ghost opted to ignore toasts pleased look with the fact that he had finally caved.

"Stop staring at me like that! Let's just go already!" Ghost looked away quickly feeling a tinge if a blush from embarrassment cast across his face as he looked out the window wanting to pull the hood of his hoodie more over his head than it already was.

"Right away sir!" And with that the car was taken out of park driving away from the empty parking lot it had been hanging around in to drive to the road. Ghost felt even more embarrassed with the looks some people gave the car as it passed by, but other than that he shouldn't of cared so much.

Stab, stab. Stop staring at me!

The thought as quickly as it came, left, the eyes of other people making him feel as though he was starting to have a hard time breathing. Why did toast have to have a pink car? Out of all the colors? Why not a nice color? Like blue? Or what about red, he liked red.

Blood red that is.

A shiver of fear ran across ghost's spine as he pressed his lips into a thin line just watching the buildings pass him by on the road. This other side of him, he felt like a real life Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He kinda was, minus the doctor part, and minus the whole experiment too. He was just, insane he guessed. He should probably seek help but with his profession if he can't get through this, what would happen if a ghost possessed him?! He didn't want to think about that.

His mind needed to wander to something else and not focus purely on the fact that he was guilty for the murder of around 15 people, most of them police officers. He felt so guilty about it all, but how could he stop it? Let alone do anything about it. He killed them, he killed them in cold blood all because he felt threatened. Scared. His brain just snapped flipping the switch to an insane episode that lasted for a week. A week. Jimmy Casket was in control for a week.

He didn't like that at all, having him out was like being trapped in the toilet toucher's house! No wait, even that's tamer than Jimmy Casket. What was he going to do? Should he even be ghost hunting right now? Was this the right thing to do? Was this what he should be doing? He should be hiding out, left alone to his thoughts. But then again, his eyes shifted over from the window to watch toast drive, he didn't want to be alone. He'd rather have toast with him than be left alone.

He had even lost it one time hopping dimensions because toast wasn't with him! It was hard to be with out his best friend. Best friend, toast wasn't his first, ghost could vaguely remember a girl who used to talk to him. She used to come over a lot to his old home, but that's as far as the memories went. He assumed that she was a friend. But then she moved. And then the memories cut from there.

Everything's fuzzy up until age 8, or he thinks. He's not sure how old he really was he's just throwing out a number. Looking away from toast, ghost gazed back out the window narrowing his eyes suspiciously as the city was starting to become less and less replaced with a few trees scattered about. They weren't far from the city per say, but, if this was a trap for him to be caught. This would be the perfect place to keep him from going and killing anyone else.

"Something the matter sir?" Toast glanced around ghost mainly keeping his eyes on the road as a few bumps were hit in between the smooth concrete.

"Yes! Well, no." Ghost answered truthfully sitting at his full height rather than slouched as he watched the streets slowly start to thicken, a few dirt roads and a few houses with a mailbox and their house numbers passed by.

"You don't think this could be a trap, do you? What if an officer really did see me? What if he left one alive?" Anxiety peeked in ghost's chest as he turned to fully look at ghost who scoffed a bit playfully.

"Psht, don't be silly sir! Everything is fine! You're just a bit on edge that's all!" What was toasts secret to being so chipper all the time? There was never a moment that he wasn't a happy or relaxed guy. Actually ghost can't remember a time where toast was angry, or even upset with anything. It's hard to get a read on him sometimes even if he's known him so long. Despite that he was still an optimist.

"Yeah, yeah everything's fine, I'm-im just on edge." Ghost echoed Toast's words sinking down in his seat as much as he could pulling his hoodie a little more over his face, his hair being the only thing that was peeking out from under with how far he had tried to pull it over his face.

"Ah here we are! (H/N)! Just like Ms. (L/N) said!" Toast hummed in satisfaction as he turned the car into one of the dirt roads passing by the mail box displaying the house number. Ghost peeked out from under his hood looking a little curious. Sitting back up again he eyed the slight forest like area.

"Wait what's the name again?" Ghost looked to toast now curiously as the car drove through.

"Hmm? Oh, Ms. (Y/N) (L/N) she's the one who called about her level 6 ghost problem." Toast kept his eyes on the road now careful to follow the messy road before him, but the car was swerving a few places. Ghost guessed he hadn't improved too much in his driving, honestly how did toast even still have a car.

"That name, just sounds really familiar to me. Have we done a case with her before?" Ghost blinked as he looked at toast carefully watching as the Brit stuck his tongue out in concentration as he took a turn to reach the home.

"No, I don't believe we have sir." Carefully trying to park his car next to the car in the drive way toast turned the ignition off removing his keys to look back at ghost who seemed to still be thinking.

"Well okay then." He seemed satisfied with toast's answers opening the car door to step out getting a good look around. This was a nice size home, older but well kept. The forest, that's what he's going to keep calling it but really it's only a handful of trees here and there with a lot of shrubbery, seemed quaint enough.

But if past experience has told him anything places like this were crawling with the paranormal. Creatures like Toast's friend Rake likes to roam around at night around here. Not to mention the tall creatures that loomed just behind trees watching any movement anything mortal made.

While ghost had been getting a better look, today had gone to the trunk of his car beginning to unload some equipment that he always kept on him, gearing himself up while ghost started to walk to the door.

"Sir! Aren't you going to "gear up"?" Toast tilted his head to the side as ghost stopped in his tracks. Why had he started walking to the door? He just sort of started to like he was being lured to it.

"Oh right." Turning on his heel ghost went back to the car quickly getting what he thinks he'll need for this case. Clearing his throat he locked eyes with toast.

"Now we can go to the door." Walking ahead toast stifled a laugh following behind.

"Right sir."

Ghost hesitated at the door lifting his fist to knock only to think about it. He couldn't help it, what if this was a trap? What if this was a set up by the police so that they could at long last catch their killer. While ghost agrees Jimmy Casket should be behind bars, it's still apart of him. And ghost would never want to harm an innocent person. Sure at times people annoy him and he wants to slap some of them for being so stupid. But that's apart of being human he wouldn't actually want to kill any of them!

So with that thought in mind he was afraid that this was a set up, too afraid that his hand started to shake from where he had it lifted up to the door. His heart was beating heavily against his chest and toast took notice of the nervous expression on his friend's face.

"Actually sir why don't I knock?" Toast gently brushed ghost behind him watching as he vaguely nodded lost in a trance.

"Yeah, that...that sounds good, you knock." Ghost couldn't speak above a whisper as he gazed steadily at the door backing up to be just a bit ways away from toast who now began to knock against the wood of the door. It wasn't long until it open. Ghost couldn't see the woman who stood at the door but she seemed to be a little shaky her self.

"Hello?" Her voice was alluring to ghost all of a sudden, he could practically feel his heart leap into his throat creating a lump. He's never felt this way before, she was like a siren for some reason. What is with him?

"'ello! You must be (Y/N) (L/N)! Im Johnny Toast! We spoke on the phone." Toast seemed to give the woman a warm smile as she stood at the door. Ghost needed to make his choice now, should he hide out in the car or should he make his presence known? If this was a trap they'd of surrounded him already by now wouldn't they? Sucking in a breath ghost approached the door now standing besides toast.

"I'm Johnny Ghost paranormal investigator extraordinare, we got your call about your level 6 entity that seems to be haunting your house." Ghost finally locked eyes with the woman who stood at the door. She seemed to stare at him hearing his voice only to freeze on the spot. She seemed overwhelmed sucking in a breath while she stared at him, she looked like she couldn't breath. But in that moment all ghost could think were two things. How she looked a little familiar, and how almost breath taking she was. After coming back from her moment she let out a heavy breath giving an amused smile like she was trying to brush off some sort of fear that washed over her.

"You're both names Johnny? Doesn't that get confusing?" Her eyes flickered between toast and ghost curiously.

"No not really ma'am." Toast's smile never faltered as he spoke.

"Sometimes, but it's fine, right Johnny?" Ghost looked to toast who nodded.

"Right sir!"

"Okay...well won't you come in?" (Y/N) parted from the door lazily moving her arm to invite ghost and toast inside to her seemingly cozy home. Right, this wasn't a trap, ghost just had to keep telling himself that. But now a new thought was sort of floating around in his mind, why was this woman before him so familiar?
