VI ~ Demons
"Finally, I think we made it to the end of the stairway!" Damien exclaimed from down the hall, his voice echoing. Malachi and I quickly made our way down, "What the hell..?" Malachi straced off as he admired the surroundings. A huge black abyss went for what looked like forever down. Cracks of light and liquid dripped from the ceiling. There stood a huge stone bridge in front of us which lead to the middle of the room. At the end there was a floating purple book, with purple mist floating around it? The bridge looked delicate and was falling apart with moss and vines all over it. What the hell is this place? This has to be another dream I wondered. Movement stirred in front of me and snapped me back to reality. What the? Malachi had jumped
He jumped across a broken part of the bridge and landed across the hole. As he landed the bridge underneath him begun to collapse. Shit! "Malachi!" I yelled. But Malachi appeared to knew what was going on. His eyes widened as he jumped backwards back to the stair case. He spun around in midair and grabbed onto the platform. Damien and I pulled him back up and looked back to the bridge. The bridge continued to collapse from the sudden weight. Until there where just vines and pillars of the bridge. "There is no way" Malachi sighed. I looked over at him, "Malachi do you know how risky that was??" Malachi looks over at me. His eyes had changed, the light had vanished from them, as if he just completely switched. "Lets just go, this is suicide if any of you even try to cross that now." Malachi narrowed his eyes at me, giving me a hateful look and walked on ahead back up the staircase.
Damien followed along with him. I looked back at the enchanting room. I sighed and walked up the staircase, running to catch up. Malachi wouldn't usually give up like this, but then again. There is no way to pass the bridge. The book is probably corrupt anyways.
"Malachi, why are you so... how do I put this?.." I questioned. "Don't even bother" Malachi strictly replied. Damien quickly pushed passed Malachi and ran ahead again. But Malachi just let Damien push him aside, as if it didn't even happen. "This was a waste of time" Malachi mumbled as he went back to walking up.
Suddenly Damien fell through the floor, the floor had given out on him and broke. "Damien!" We ran up to him, he had landed in a room that was just tall enough to stand up in. It was completely dark. Malachi and I jumped down, after him. Landing on our feet but and Damien was gone.
"Damien?" Malachi sounded a little worried. Where is he now?? There was a huge coat of dust on the floor, "footprints" Malachi pointed out human footprints on the floor. "This might be his, at the same time it would be someone else's." I started at the footprints, "Do you really think anyone else could've gotten here before us? Let's follow it" Malachi rolled his eyes as he trailed the footprints, so I just followed him. I looked around for a quick glance, there weren't any walls that I could see. Just the unsettling darkness. I looked back ahead of me and I couldn't see Malachi anywhere. The room felt as if it had gotten colder. The room had gotten even darker, I couldn't even see my own hands. I tried not to panic, panicking would just make this situation even worse. So I kept my cool as much as I could as I felt around for a fall that I would follow along, or something at least.
My hand fell upon something ridged, I traced my hand on the side until I felt something Is this a doorknob? I attempted to turn it to see if it was, but to my luck it is a door. I opened it, the sudden light hurt my eyes so I quickly covered them. I walked out and looked around. But I was right back at the pond. I was right back in the same spot before I met up with Damien and Malachi?
I looked back but the door was gone. This is a dream, there isn't any other explanation for this a deep hissing came from the hallway from behind me, I ran into the hallway to investigate and being a dumbass. There was a floating purple mist at the end of the hallway, the mist spiraled and swirled around the hallway, creating the creepiest noises. It then started hurdling at me.
I tried to run away but it was unbelievably fast, plus it didn't help that I was already injured. It surrounded me, I felt as if a dagger was stabbed into my chest and I screamed in pain, my vision was becoming purple. I couldn't feel my heartbeat anymore. I almost collapsed to the floor but quickly picked myself back up.
I found the strength and broke out of the mist and started to run away, I was running faster then before. Well what do you know, it got rid of my injuries, but why would it do that I couldn't find any answers but I just kept running, and running. I still couldn't feel anything inside, my heartbeat, or anything really. But the only thing I could feel was fear.
I out ran it and hid into another room off to the side. The demonic sounding mist sounded like demon screams from hell as it passed the room, very slowly. It is looking for me. My vision started to return back to its normal state. I could also feel my heartbeat again, it was racing. I waited in the room for what seemed like forever, hours, I didn't have a whole lot of patience, but depending on my life I waited. After the time passed I couldn't even hear the demonic mist anymore. I slowly left the room. I looked both ways just to make sure, but it really is gone.
