"Explain,"My mama gritted.

I looked around and scratched the back of my head. My mother can't know that I was holding this girl hostage.

She would beat the black off of me. Hell she would beat the white off of me after she finished beating the black off of me.

"I want some damn answers Ace!"She shouted.

I sighed, "Why you gotta look at me man?Why couldn't it be her fault?"

"Because you always start shit Ace.I know this girl did not just beat your ass for no damn reason!"She shouted.

Pops pulled her back down by her arm so she would calm down. Maddy was mugging me across the room. Obviously she was pissed off.

She mad because we both got our asses beat. Hell no one won but by the looks of it we both lost.

"Ok mama, her boyfriend stole some coke from my office. I kidnapped her burned her house down and she was supposed to be helping me find hi-"

"You kidnapped this child? BURNED HER HOUSE DOWN?"My mama shouted.

I flinched when she raised her hand to hit me but pops pulled her back down once again. Call me scared but my mama is crazy.

Growing up I got whooped by her with a belt, switch, extension cord, shoes, and the one that hurt the most her hands. My pops was in the army so he wasn't really here. My mama had to raise two children in one home by herself. My brother moved somewhere and haven't heard from him since.

Hey maybe he might just pop up one day.

"Mama her boyfrie-"

"Does she look like her boyfriend? No! You go to this young man and discipline him for his actions!"She shouted. "This woman has no place she can call home! From now on she stays with you and you supply her every need! No matter what ever the hell your doing you will be by her side. Even if it's the simplest thing as getting the remote. You will re-build her house, and you will apologize for ruining this young ladies life right now!"

I smacked my lips "Ma that a-"

She shot me a look. I straightened up real fast.

"Of course mama,"I turned to Maddy who a had sly smirk on her face.

Honestly I didn't give a fuck.

"Madison I am truly sorry for all the harm I have caused you. You may stay with me for however long you want. Plus you can drive my Mercedes. All of your needs will be met."

"It's ok,"She smirked.

My mother got up and hit the back of my head. That shit hurt man.

"Now go pack her stuff! If I hear you try anything and I mean anything with her, I will strangle you with my hands,"She whispered in my ear.

I flinched and stood up. If it's anyone I'm scared of its my mama. She crazy. I went to the guest room and placed all of her bags in my car. She had a whole lot to only be here for one night.

I leaned against my car and lit my blunt. I put it in between my lips and took a pull. This was relaxation right here.

"Ready for a roomie?"I heard someone say.

I turned my head and saw the devil herself. She had Layla in her arms. My baby was sleeping. She had a Prada bag with her. Who bought it, I don't know but I hope it ain't come out of my bank.

"Put my fucking daughter in the car,"I gritted.

"Not until that blunt is put out. She's taking in second hand smoke,"She replied smartly.

I sucked my teeth, "I know how to parent!Put my daughter in the car."

"MAMA!"She shouted.

"Ok, put her I'll put it out!"

I quickly got rid of it. My mother stuck her head out of the door.

"Problem?"She asked.

"No ma'am,"Maddy smiled.

She placed Layla in the car and sat in the front seat. She placed her phone in her pocket. I reached my house in less than ten minutes. I stopped at Wendy's to get something to eat. I had to get all of her bags out of the car.
Maddy had fed Layla and disappeared with her. Since it was Thursday, I would let Layla stay home from daycare.

I heard soft giggles coming from the bathroom. I peeked my head through the door and saw Maddy giving Layla a bath.

"Daddy neva take baths!"Layla giggled.

Maddy hummed softly "That's why he stink."

"Sing me a song."

Maddy giggled, "I don't sing baby."

"Come on! Sinnngggg."

"Alright what do you want me to sing Layla?"

"Hmmm,"She placed her hand on her chin. "Ooooo, I know! Sing let it go."

Maddy sighed, "The snow glows white on the mountain tonight

Layla threw her hands up as Maddy sung. I chuckled at how dramatic she was.

"Don't let them in
Don't let them see-"

"Be the good girl
You always have to be," Layla shouted.

"Conceal don't feel
Don't let them know
But now they know,"Maddy sung hitting every note perfectly.

"LET IT GO! LET IT GO!"Layla sung terribly.

I smiled and noticed how their singing started to get worse. It was giving me a mad headache. Acting like I was never there I knocked quietly on the door.

"Aye! Y'all good?"I shouted.

"We're great!"

I was met face to face with Maddy who had a clothed Layla. Layla's eyes were beginning to close.

"I'll take her to her room,"I said taking Layla from her.

I placed Layla in her bed and said a prayer over her before walking back out to meet Maddy face again.

"Hey I was won-"

I grabbed her hand forcefully trying to take her to the guest room.

"Don't fucking drag me bitch,"She said snatching her hand back.

"I ain't mean t-"

"Show me the fucking room, and go some fucking where,"She gritted.

I shrugged and pointed to the room. She flicked me off before walking in there.
