Chapter 5
Here's another update for you guys! I'm starting to get better at this...or at least I think so.

She heard the explosion. Her wings automatically appeared and something new happened. Her senses sharpened. She heard much better and saw nearly every detail of just about anything she looked at. She could smell the faint scent of smoke. The air around her seemed slightly warmer.
(Y/n) got a little curious and decided to walk around her new room to test out her senses despite the explosion and smell of smoke. She trusted that Add would be okay on his own. He seemed to know a lot more than she did and she had seen him fight before. (Y/n) was near the door when she heard it though. It was even fainter than the smell of the smoke but she heard someone. Someone was hurt. How could that have been so if she and Add where the only two in the library. Of course she had just guessed this since he didn't exactly answer her when she had asked him about it.
"...Add, you're in trouble aren't you," she whispered as she purposefully went against Add's direction to stay in her room until his return. Quickly, she opened the door to her room and headed back the same way Add had brought her. She didn't hesitate to run and when she finally made it to the edge where the other floors were visible, (y/n) looked up and saw him.
Add was falling and there were these flying things following him. None of them seemed friendly nor where they tryingnto save him. On instinct, she took flight. Her wings guided her and (y/n) flew as if she had done it a thousand times before. She successfully grabbed Add by sliping her arms under his and pulling to the side so that she would avoid the things that were following him down.
Once she got to the fifth floor, she immediately went to its left side and sat Add down with his back to a bookshelf. She only had time to notice his wound and his slightly suprised look when he looked at her. The things that were following him had follwed her.
"Fugitive. Come peacefully and we will spare the attacker," they said. There were five of them in total.
When (y/n) had killed that researcher back before she had escaped, she'd struck him in the chest. Perhaps this would work on these things, whatever they were. She of course had no idea what she was doing but she let her wings guide her as she sprang forward and kicked one of them using both her feet. When she shot backwards, she was being shot at so she did the same thing she did when the guy from earlier tried to stab her.
She folded her wings in front of her and actually blocked the bullets being shot at her but the aftermath force of those shots blew her backwards as they exploded. They obviously hadn't used these type of bullets to harm Add.
(Y/n) landed on her side and slid towards Add. She got recovered from the attack as quickly as she could. When she looked at Add again, she saw that his wound was worse and his shirt had more blood on it. She'd witnessed someone bleed to death before so she knew what was going on with Add's wound.
"I won't let them hurt you anymore," she said before getting up. This time (y/n) decided to try the same attack that she had performed in the woods. She flew between two of them as the other three went after Add. She spined in the air and released her wings, sending black and white feather shaped spikes in nearly every direction. She hit the two that she was between along with the other three with at least seven of the feathers of energy.
One crashed into the rock of the fifth floor that separated it from the sixth floor. The other two were hit in the center of their chests and they fell down below with the other two that (y/n) had hit. She watched them fall for a little bit before remembering that Add was hurt. She rushed over to him and found him with his eyes closed.
"Add...are you dead?" she asked with a bit of worry. He opened his eyes and stared at her intently before saying, "No." She nodded but then when she looked at his wound, she didn't know what to do. (Y/n) had no idea how to help him. She decided to trust whatever her wings led her to do since it had been working so far. She thought about saving his life, but nothing happened so she placed her hands onto his side which only resulted in her hands being wet with his blood.
"What are you doing?" he asked her. He had his eyes closed again but opened them once he felt her contact. It must have caused him a little bit of pain for her to have rouched him.
"I don't really know," she said but then her hands started glowing. Well no, Add's side began to glow with silver light. (Y/n)'s eyes widened and Add just closed his eyes as his wound began to heal. (Y/n) kept her hands on his side until the silver light disappeared revealing that there was no blood on her hands and Add was no longer hurt. She willed her wings to disappear and they actually did. Add's shirt was still torn and stained with blood but he was otherwise fine.
"W-what did I just do?" she asked herself as she held her hands out in front of her face and looked at them curiously. Her momemt of awe ended when Add spoke again.
"Why did you leave the room? I told you to stay there until I got back," Add said as he tried to stand but failed.
"Hey, you're still suffering from blood loss. You shouldn't try to stand just yet," (y/n) informed. Add looked at her as if she'd said something strange.
"How do you know something like that?" he asked. Perhaps he didn't think (y/n) was just making things up. She thought about it for a moment before giving her answer.
"Well, my mom was the village doctor but she didn't get paid much. She let me watch her treat the visitors. That was when I was almost three. I'm suprised that I even remember that," she said.
"You still didn't tell me why you left that room. I told you not to leave until I got back," Add said as he tried to stand again but was unsuccessful.
"If you let me help you up then maybe I'll tell you," she said frowning. Add's persistence was admirable but it was obvious that he didn't want to accept any help.
"If I recall, I was the one giving the orders around here," Add said as he slightly glared at her. His piercing gaze made her flinch and he certainly noticed.
"Are you afraid?" he asked as he leaned closer to her. It was all to obvious that he wanted her to say that she was but she didn't want to give him that satisfaction.
"No...it's just, your eyes. If you look at someone a certain way, you can make them uneasy," she said with a shaky voice.
"Hm, I see," he said in response but he still stared at her right in the eyes and he didn't back away from her. (Y/n) wanted to show that she wasn't scared so she didn't move either but she could only last so long so she hit him in the side that she had just healed. He recoiled from her and winced while letting out a small wimper.
"What did you do that for!" he growled as he glared at her again but it was more menacing this time which made her flinch again.
"You kept glaring at me like you are now. You really shouldn't do that," she said feeling a little guilt for harming him although he sort of deserved it.
"And why not?" he asked. She looked away from him before saying, "Because it scares me." Add smirked at this but (y/n) did not see it because she wasn't looking at him. Omce again, he tried getting up again and actually succeeded this time though he leaned on the shelf behind him instead of standing up on his own. (Y/n) remained seated on the floor in front of him.
"Are you going to stay there or are you going to come with me?" he asked. He looked her in the eyes again but it wasn't the same piercing gaze that he'd used before. He seemed to be back to normal but something was off.
"Where are you going?" she asked. The library was huge so (y/n) couldn't help but ask him this.
"There are ladders in each corner of this library. They let you get from one floor to another without having to go that way," he said as he pointed towards the direction of the waterfalls.
(Y/n) stood up and asked, "Do you need my help to get there. You don't have your float things anymore." Add used that same piercing gaze of his before turning away from her.
"I can get around just fine, thank you," he said but he didn't go anywhere. He just leaned against the bookshelf and held his side. His breathing was normal but she could sense his pain. It was like when she was help captive. Whenever any of the people around her felt pain, she was able to sense it.
"It still hurts you doesn't it," she said. Add didn't say anything. She got up and walked over to him so that she was now standing in front of him but his eyes were closed so he didn't see her.
"Add are you okay?" (y/n) asked noticing that his pain was growing. He was sweating now and his breathing had become shallow. (Y/n) poked his arm and he didn't really do anything but open his eyes to look at her. They were glazed over as if he suddenly got sick.
"I think...they poisoned me," he said. Then he fell to his knees right in front of her. He was still leaning onto the bookshelf as he tried getting back up but of course he couldn't.
"Poison? But I thought I fixed it. You aren't even bleeding anymore," she said. She didn't know what to do.
"An antidote. I need an antidote," he whispered. Without warning, (y/n)'s wings appeared and she sat on her knees in front of him.
"I wish I had an antidote for you but I don't know what that is or how to get one," (y/n) said. Add didn't say anything and his eyes were now closed. His white hair fell over them slightly. She shook him a little.
"Add?" she said. "Hm?" he weakly responded. "What's an antidote?" she asked. When he didn't answer, she asked him again. This time he responded by saying, "It's a cure...for poison." (y/n) had heard that word being used by her mother before but she had forgotten what it meant. "Cure?" she asked unsure of herself.
As soon as she said that, her wings glowed brighter and a symbol appeared above Add in silver light. When it disappeared, Add opened his eyes and looked at her intently like he did earlier.
"What did you do?" he asked. He sounded much better and his eyes had returned to normal.
"I don't know. All I said was 'cure' and then this thing showed up and I don't know what happened...are you okay now?" (y/n) said as she examined him for any other signs of harm.
"You talk too much ya know," he spoke before falling forward causing him to land on her. His head resting on her shoulder and (y/n) didn't dare move.
"Add?" she called. She called his name three more times before she heard his soft breathing indicating that he was asleep. Now that (y/n) knew this, she carefully moved away from him and rested his head on his arm that he wasn't using to hold his side. Crawled to the opposite side of the bookshelf, she sat with her back to it and pulled her knees to her wrapped her arms around them. She rested her head on her knees as she watched Add sleep. "Maybe, just maybe I can trust you," she whispered to herself.
