Chapter Forty Nine

Glimmer's hair clung to her face wet and stringy. Her head felt wet and sticky and a sharp piece of the wall jutted into her side. The dust settled. Glimmer shivered, clenching her eye's shut. She wanted to dive, swim, run away. Her head clanged as though somebody was drumming loudly. Her eye's opened. Sophie, Tam, Wylie, Linh, and Dex stood. Glimmer sat up, pressing her hand against her cheek. A warm trickle of blood seeped into her hand. Glimmers cuffs seemed to tighten painfully, as though someone was controlling her. But nobody was giving her commands. She looked down at her cuffs, gasping. They glowed purple. Glimmer remembered the words Nellie had spoken to her earlier. She told her of the others. They had so easily given up on her. They never trusted her nor liked her to begin with. She felt angry, like lava pouring through her veins. The little brats wanted to use her! Most of all they just wanted to hurt her, see her vulnerable.

"You found me." She said playfully. Glimmer felt seen as the villain by them. She would be the villain. And they would never forget that they made her that way. Tam glared at her. "What? Upset?" Asked Glimmer, making a pouty face. Glimmer felt a shiver crawl up her back. As much as she wanted it to stop, she enjoyed this evil bit inside her. Linh turned pink. "You joined the side that tortured me!" She said. "I told my brother not to trust you!" She said. Sophie and Wylie comforted Linh. "I trusted you." Said Tam. Glimmers grin widened.

"Sorry to disappoint." She said. "Weak little creatures. Never trust easy." Linh released the water, sending it crashing at Glimmer. Glimmer closed her eye's letting the salty water hit her. It flung her against the wall. As her vision began to blur she was Tam. He looked disappointed. "I'm not Glimmer, I'm Amethyst." Said Amethyst/Glimmer. She blacked out, smiling devilishly.
