(Y/N POV)

All that was on your mind was Luke. What was up with him? When he was at school, he was so closed off from the world and only stood and nodded. But, when it was just the two of you, he would be back to his old childish self. It just didn't make sense... You furrowed your brows as you were cooking yourself dinner, until strong arms wrapped around you and a husky voice spoke into your ear.

"Whats on your mind?" Kaneki spoke as he rested his chin on your shoulder. You smiled as you turned in his arms so that you were facing him. 

"Wouldn't you like to know?" You giggled pushing him away as you continued to prepare your meal. But he was right, you did have stuff on your mind, and it was bothering you to the point you were just anxious to get answers. Kaneki watched you closely as he tried to read you. 

"What are you hiding from me?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

You stopped in your tracks as you sighed softly and put what you were doing down. You had an unsure expression on your face as you turned around to face Kaneki with your arms crossed as you leaned against the bench.

"I don't know... Luke seems to be off recently and I don't know what its about. It is unusual to see him this distracted from others..." You finally looked up to Kaneki to see a calm expression. That expression changed when you mentioned his name. "And then there is Hide..." Kaneki's eyes widen and then he slumped back and looked to the ground. "He is so worried about you Ken, when are you going to see him? Isn't he your childhood friend?" There were no words from Kaneki. All you could think of was if you were Hide, you would be worried sick about Luke if he just disappeared out of no where with no information on where he went or did. This made you slightly agitated. You stood up from leaning on the bench. 

"Does he really not mean that much to you?" You questioned as there was still no response form him. "Kaneki?!" He sighed and closed his eye. "Its not that simple (y/n)..." You furrowed your brows. "Why isn't it that simple? Your fine hanging around me, why is it so dif-" You were cut off when Kaneki ripped off his eye patch. "You think its easy to have control over my hunger?!" He yelled as his eye was blood red and pitch black. Your eyes widen as you stepped back until your back hit the edge of the counter. "You think its easy to not try and rip you apart just to taste your sweet delicious blood and flesh?!" He started to growl as he almost began to drool. You were scared, really scared... 

You watched as Kaneki grabbed hold of his hair and tried to control his hunger. As you watched him in pain, your swiftly grabbed a knife for protection and hid it behind your back, knowing that showing Kaneki a weapon will put him into a more head strong emotion. Holding the knife tightly in your right hand, you watched Kaneki struggle. You were slightly starting to shake as Kaneki began to straighten up his body. His eyes still the monstrous red and black with veins under his eye. His expression completely changed. 

"I... I should never have come here..." He mumbled to himself as he looked at you and your condition, knife in hand, heavy breathing and shaking form. "I've put you in to much danger..." His breathing got faster and his eyes were darting across the room looking for an escape root. "I can't stay here... I need to leave..." Your eyes widen as you watched him scramble to the door. You instantly dropped the knife and fell to the floor in tears. "Kaneki!" You yelled after him but he was gone, all that was left was his eye patch. You clutched it close to your chest as you gritted your teeth and balled your eyes out. This was your fault... You pushed him too far...

And now he's gone.
