Omkara was once again sitting in a restaurant waiting for another one of his mother's "chosen" one to arrive. This was becoming a weekly thing for his mother who has nagged him for the past month to hurry up and get married. Why wasn't she happy that he was taking over the company? At first that was her goal and now it seems that since he was doing pretty well she had found something else to focus on. Unfortunately for him he was a big part of that focus. Ever since his mom returned from her friend's dinner party she had been complaining "All of them were sharing pictures of their grandkids. Omkara when is it my turn?" He was only 27 and was in charge of Oberoi Corps. Did his mom forget that he had been overseas for the past 6 years and had just now return to help them after father's stroke? How could he even have time to meet women? So far every women he'd met had money signs reflecting in their eyes.
From just a few feet he could already see another one walking towards him. Designer clothing from head to toe. A tight black dress that left little to the imagination and that was already a big turn off for him. He could still hear his mother's voice ringing in his ear from this morning. "She is the daughter of Auntie Pinky! Do not be rude to her like you have the others! Omkara...she is the third one this month. You better not try anything!"
How could his mom rid him of such fun. He had been busy at work for the last year and found that this was the only time he could loosen up. Granted it made the women run out feeling extremely angry but it was not his fault. Who knew women didn't like it when he started to eat like an animal. Or slam his drink down hard while berating the waiter or waitress. Just thinking about their expressions made him laugh. "They must have thought I was an abusive man." What was even more troubling was that these women would turn a blind eye just because of his status. In the end he would have to resort to turning them down straightforwardly but that was always a guarantee to get a glass of water splash in his face. He now had a reputation among his mother's group of women... "cocky, arrogant, disrespectful..." the lists goes on but then it was pointless since they still kept sending their daughters on blind dates with him hoping he would change after meeting the one. How could he change when they don't even take the time to know who he really was? For example the woman who just sat down now.
Omkara stands up like a gentlemen to greet the young lady who had too bright of a red lipstick that took away from her natural beauty. Ishana has been waiting to meet Omkara ever since she saw a photo of him from her mother. He was extremely handsome and now the owner of Oberoi Corps. What woman wouldn't want to be his wife?! Now that she was sitting across from him the photo did not do him justice. He was a fine man. Long black hair tied in a half pony with not a single strand out of place. His dark chocolate eyes was sucking her that she almost forgot to exchange greetings.
"Ah...I hope you didn't wait too long."
"Not at all. I took the liberty to order you a glass of red wine."
"Thank you."
Omkara slide over the restaurant menu to her hoping that he could get through this dinner in one piece. The only problem was without his antics he had absolutely nothing to say. So when the waitress came Omkara felt relieve that the silence was broken.
Waitress: Could I take your order?
Omkara: Are you ready? Or do you need a few more minutes?
Ishana smiled and proceeded to order herself a chicken salad. Omkara already could tell that this was not the woman for him. How could he order a big meal for himself if the lady across from him ate like a rabbit. He didn't want his mom to yell at him for eating like an untamed animal again. When the food came out Omkara stared at his pathetic bowl of soup while the woman picked at her leafy greens.
"I heard that you are looking for a wife Omkara and I hope to be that woman."
Omkara almost spit out the hot soup. "What?"
"I believe with our status we would become the perfect couple. I see no other man matching me as perfectly as you."
"But you don't even know me. Trust me I am not the kind of man for you. You will be unhappy."
When he heard her laugh mockingly Omkara felt the sweat behind his neck.
"Unhappy? How can that be? You work and I stay home to be your trophy wife. I bear you children to keep your parents happy and I get to hold the title of Mrs. Omkara Singh Oberoi."
Omkara took a big gulp of wine to calm his mind. This woman was talking crazy and he didn't know how to deal with crazy.
"Ishana. That title would be meaningless if we don't love each other."
"You can learn to love me. I'm beautiful and smart. Am I lacking anywhere?"
Omkara felt like he was grasping at straws. Why did he have to listen to his mother and act normal. He should of tried to scare her off in the beginning but now it was like karma was hitting him. She was now the crazy one and he wanted to run out the door ASAP.

"Damnit Bhavya! Who is he! Show me! He knocked you up and don't want to marry you?! Point him out to me right now!"
"Please sis! Don't do this! He will hate me!"
"Hate you?! That's the least of his worries! I am going to kill him!"
Bhavya could see how crazy her sister was right now. Her hair was a mess from dragging her hear and her eyes look like they could burn a hole into a person.
"Please Gauri! Let me handle this! I promise I will bring him home tomorrow!"
"Don't try to fool me! He say's he's embarrass of you and dare to go on an arrange date for marriage?!"
"His mom is forcing him! Please!"
Gauri pulls Bhavya into the 5 star restaurant which was filled with people that were all dress in high end clothing. So when the host saw her in a white t-shirt and ripped jeans they immediately tried to block her way.
"You better get out of my way....."
Bhavya was panicking because she could see Rudra staring at her.
"Point him out now!"
In a panic Bhavya pointed randomly at a man with long black hair and in her mind she was already apologizing profusely. " I am so sorry sir but to save my love I had no choice!"
Right when she pointed him out Bhavya struggled away from Gauri's iron grip and ran out the restaurant.
"Bhavya! Damn that girl!"
Gauri looked over at the man who was chatting with a beautiful woman and it just made her blood boil. "My sister is an embarrassment huh?! I'll show you embarrassment!"
Shoving the host to the side Gauri angrily walks over to Omkara's table.
"You! How could you do this? How could you?!"
Everyone at the restaurant turned their attention towards the corner table. Omkara and Ishana could already hear people whispering nearby.
"I'm sorry Miss but do I know you?" Omkara asked.
In Gauri's mind she was going to make the biggest scene for everyone to see. So tears started to pour down her face as she points to her stomach.
"You don't know me?! All those nights we were together? How can you answer to the bun in my oven?!"
Ishana was in disbelief. Did someone already beat her to the punch?!
"Omkara! say she's lying!"
Gauri's inner thoughts "So his name is Omkara?!"
Omkara was now just staring at another crazy woman and was speechless. Especially when this stranger threw herself into his embrace.
"Omkara! How could you leave me? Am I not beautiful enough? Is it because I'm poor? I know your parents look down on me but you said you would be responsible for me!"
Ishana was clenching her fists as she hears people already gossiping. Who didn't know that she was here to meet the heir of Oberoi Corps. Everyone in this restaurant was part of her parent's social circle. She could even see the wait staff snapping pictures with their phones.
Ishana: Omkara! Explain!
Omkara remained silent as he tried to pull the crazy woman off of him but she was like a leech.
Ishana took a deep breath to calm herself. "Omkara....if she was your past I can accept it but just promise me that you will cut ties with her and the baby and we could still proceed with our marriage."
Omkara stared at Ishana in shock. "What the hell? Even with this she would be okay with it?" Even Gauri was in disbelief. "Damnit! I need to up my game!"
Gauri placed her hands onto Omkara's cheeks to force him to look at her tearful eyes.
"If you dare listen to her I will park my ass in front of your workplace everyday with a big sign that you have abandoned your pregnant girlfriend! Everyday! Up to the very last second!"
"Last second?"
"Please...I will not kill myself. Even if I go into labor I will not budge! You will be there to witness it! Witness what you've done to me!"
Ishana could not handle the humiliation any longer. She could hear people calling her a home wrecker behind her back.
"Omkara! I will tell my mother about this!"
Ishana stormed out of the restaurant leaving Gauri to laugh evilly inside. As for Omkara he felt that karma was really coming after him for all those times he pretended and scared off those women his mother set him up with.
"I am sorry but I think you have mistaken. I really don't know you."
This time he saw no more tears. It was like she transformed into a different person. Her eyes were sharply staring at him and her expression was rather frightening for a petite woman.
"Of course you don't know me! But I bet you know my sister! You bastard!"
When she was about to go off on him she felt someone pull her back.
"Gauri! Stop..."
Bhavya had felt so guilty that she ended up returning only to see her sister who was an aspiring actress creating such a scene.
"Good you came back! We are going to settle this!"
"That's not him!"
Gauri froze as she stared at her sister and then back at Omkara.
"Not.....him...?"
Looking apologetic Bhavya nodded her head. " It's not him. I was scared and just pointed randomly."
"You what?!"
Gauri was so angry she felt like vomiting out blood. What had she just done?! Turning her eyes towards the tall man who was still standing there.
"So....I'm sorry?"
Before he could say anything the two women ran out of the restaurant like their life depended on it.
"What the hell just happened?"
When he returned home his nightmare had just begun.
Jhanvi: Omkara....have you watched the entertainment news today or check the net?"
"No..why?"
"Apparently my son has gotten his girlfriend pregnant! Pinky called me and said Ishana was crying the entire day! Explain!"
Omkara knew he had to be very careful with his words because he still didn't want to marry Ishana.
"I...must have forgot to mention it?" Omkara figured maybe this was a blessing in disguise. Mumbai was so big that there was no way he would bump into that crazy woman again. If he just went along with this ruse no woman would want to be his wife. This was great! That meant no more blind dates! No more arranged dates! WooHoo.
"Forgot?! So it's true?! She is carrying my grandkid?"
"I'm sorry mom. It was an accident...I drank too much at an office party."
"Accident or not you need to bring her here! How could she think we would not accept her? This is nonsense."
"Well the problem is....I don't know her last name nor do I know where she lives."
"But she said she is your girlfriend. Doesn't make sense."
"I..I....kept to first name basis only. It was yesterday that she told me she was pregnant but then you had set me up with Ishana. So.....she went crazy. Pretty sure she will not want to see me ever again."
"What?! So she hates you for meeting with another woman? Damnit Omkara I would too!! She was pregnant and you even went to attend an arrange date for marriage! Are you trying to drive your me insane? How are we to find her?!"
Omkara was now happily smiling to himself because he had found the solution to his problem. There was no way his mom could find this crazy woman. Then suddenly he could feel the blood drain from his face. There she was on his family's 86 inch flat screen TV.
Jhanvi: Isn't.....that her?
Omkara couldn't believe it! His world was crumbling because of a shampoo commercial!
"Uh....you are mistaken mom."
Jhanvi stares intently at her son. "Do not lie to me. Everyone has seen that footage in the restaurant! That is her! Tomorrow I will call up whoever shot this ad. I will bring home my daughter in law!"
"Shit...."
*******************
Gauri was getting ready for bed when she felt a gust of cold air behind her neck.
"Man....someone must be talking ill of me. I better go pray tomorrow....repent for my wrong deeds today."
**Hope you guys enjoy this small idea that popped in my head. Just a drabble. Suppose to be a bit entertaining. Hope it made you smile.**
