Chapter 9
Author's Notes:
I'm back. I know that there have been a lot of people waiting on this story to start back up again for a while now. To those people, I want to say thank you for your patience. I hope you all enjoyed reading The Secret Prince while you waited, I know I enjoyed writing it.
Now back to Justice. I want you to know, I changed something in one of the previous chapters. Originally I had Ash's first match to be against Calem. I believe that was part of my problem before, because I tried to come up with a way to write him in. The thing is I couldn't come up with a way to do that that I was satisfied with. Then I started to not hate his character and saw him more as a favorable character. So I decided to spare him the humiliating defeat he was going to suffer at Ash's hands, and instead make his first opponent be Iris. After this change the rest of this story began to flow much easier. Now there isn't much of this story left, but I hope you all enjoy it.
If you enjoy my work, please vote, feel free to leave comments, and please share my work with your friends. I now present to you chapter 9, enjoy.
Ash woke with his left arm wrapped around Serena, his left hand on her stomach, with his right hand on her butt. It was morning now, the sun was only starting to rise. Ash looked at his phone to see he woke up a few minutes early. He turned off the alarm so it wouldn't disturb Serena, and sat on the edge of the bed. Last night Red confessed that he was his father, and explained what happened all those year ago. Ash couldn't explain it, but he felt lighter, happier, as if a great weight was taken off of him. He then felt some movement and a pair of arms wrap around him and a head rest on his back.
"Good morning Ash," Serena said.
"Good morning beautiful," Ash said, then took one of Serena's hands and kissed it. "Sorry for waking you."
"No, you didn't wake me. I was already waking up when you took your hands off of me," Serena replied.
"Well if you want we can get back to that," Ash suggested.
Serena sighed, "I wish we could, but you have a match this morning. We need to get moving," Serena replied with a sad groan.
Ash then helped her out of bed, and into the shower. He wanted to join her in there. He enjoyed helping wash her naked body, which before this late stage in pregnancy, would often times lead to shower sex. But Serena made it clear this morning that they didn't have time for that since he had a match later, so she chose to shower alone. Ash got ready quickly and grabbed him phone before he headed downstairs to make breakfast. Just then his phone dinged, notifying him he had a text message.
Ash looked and saw it was from Clemont,
Bonnie didn't come home last night, is she at your place?, the message stated.
Ash walked over to the room Max was using and knocked, "Max, Bonnie, are you in there?"
No response. Ash then nervously grabbed the door knob. He suddenly remembered how he and Serena were when they started having sex. Ash took a deep breath and opened the door. Ash breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the room was empty, and the bed looked like nobody had slept in it. Ash was about to check the other guest bedroom when he heard some noise coming from downstairs. Quietly Ash walked down the stairs and to the living room to see the TV was on, and it was on the title screen for a movie. He looked down on the couch to see Max laying there asleep, with Bonnie asleep on top of him with her head on his chest with her arms wrapped around him, both, much to Ash's relief, were fully clothed.
Ash pulled out his phone, took a picture of them, and sent it to Clemont. Clemont responded almost instantly with a smiling devil emoji.
"Aww, they look so cute," Serena whispered as she walked into the room.
Ash and Serena then heard some noise coming from the kitchen. They walked over to see Delia making Kalos toast. This wasn't surprising, as she often came over and made breakfast for them, especially after Serena became pregnant. What was truly surprising was who was helping her. Red was there cooking bacon and cutting fruit.
"Good morning," Ash said in a curious tone.
Delia quickly spun around. "Good morning to you both," Delia said with a smile.
"Good morning Ash, Serena," said Red.
"Good morning," Serena replied, also surprised to see Red was there.
"Breakfast is going to be ready in just a minute, why don't you two go take a seat outside," Delia said as she flipped a piece of Kalos toast in the frying pan.
Ash and Serena then proceeded outside where Mimey was setting the table. They sat down and looked out to see all the Pokémon were already eating their breakfast, including Bonnie and Max's. Delia and Red then came out carrying breakfast and placed it on the table.
"Wow this all looks so good, thank you for making it," Serena says as she starts filling her plate.
"Yes thanks, we appreciate it. And thanks for feeding the Pokémon. You must have woken up early to make it here this early, Dad," said Ash.
Red chuckled nervously as he scratched the back of his head, uncertain of how Ash respond to him. "Well actually I didn't go back to the hotel last night."
"You didn't?" Ash questioned.
"No he slept on the couch at my house," Delia chimed in.
"Really. Ok then. You could have just stayed in the other guest room at our house, but whatever," Ash replies casually.
"So that's fine with you, that he stayed at my house?" Delia asked.
"Mom, you are an adult. What you do in your house is your business, not mine. Red if my Dad and your first love, I'm honestly not surprised in the slightest by this," Ash replies, then began eating his breakfast.
Delia and Red smiled, both because Ash didn't have a problem with Red staying, and because Ash called Red his Dad.
Just then the door opened, and Bonnie and Max walked out.
"Good morning," they both said groggily.
They both were a bit of a mess with their hair looking crazy and their clothes wrinkled, and Max had a big wet spot on his shirt where Bonnie's head was as while they slept.
"Good morning," everyone else replied looking at them.
They both instantly woke up as they heard multiple voices, and saw them all looking at them. They were especially surprised when they saw Red was there too, and were also thankful Clemont wasn't there.
"Come on and take a seat you two, there's plenty of breakfast for everyone," Red said.
Bonnie and Max joined them and eventually relaxed and joined in on the conversations. The real shocking topic for them was how Red was Ash's father.
Eventually Bonnie received a text message from Clemont, Good morning Bonnie, did you sleep well.
Bonnie in that moment went chalk white. She didn't know how Clemont found out, but she knew now, that all those marriage proposals she did for Clemont were about to come back to haunt her.
Upon finishing breakfast, and Max and Bonnie freshening up, they all headed to the stadium. Since riding on a flying type probably wasn't the best choice for Serena considering her pregnant state, Ash and Serena drove in their jeep. Red and Delia flew in on Red's Charizard, who was very happy to see her again after all these years. And Max and Bonnie flew in on Max's Staravia.
Upon arriving, they waited for Ash and Serena, since driving was slower than flying. When they finally did arrive, Red and Delia help Serena out of the jeep.
"Ok, this is it, time for a little poetic justice. Iris said it was a problem that my Pokémon weren't evolved, time to show that little kid what my under evolved Pokémon can do," Ash replies confidently.
"Good luck Ash, I know you'll show her," Serena said and gave Ash a kiss, which he returned.
"Good luck Ash," said Red as he extended his hand.
"Thanks Dad," Ash replied as he shook Red's hand.
Red smiled agin upon being called dad by Ash. Everyone else wished Ash luck, then made their way to the league suite while Ash walked to the locker room.
————————————————————————
Upon reaching the league suite they made their way to a table near the window to watch the match. As they walked many people took notice of the fact that Red was walking with them. But what really shocked them was how he was holding Delia's hand, and was smiling. Some people also started to take notice of how much Ash resembled Red and whispers circulated around the room.
"Why are so many people looking at us?" Asked Bonnie.
"Two reasons. One, we are walking with The World Champion, Red. Two, well look at him, he's smiling. It's said he never does that," Max whispered to Bonnie.
Bonnie looked over at Red, and sure enough, he was smiling. And this wasn't some small weak little smirk. This was a big, ear to ear happy smile, with his teeth showing a little.
Bonnie looked forward again, and saw someone else with a big smile, Clemont. However his smile wasn't happy like Red's it was more of a devious grin. For the second time today Bonnie's skin went chalk white and she stopped moving.
"Bonnie? Are you ok?" Max asked.
"It's Clemont. He knows. I don't know how, but he somehow knows we're a couple now," Bonnie responded with her voice shaking.
"So what? Are you embarrassed by me?" Max asked in an almost hurt tone.
Bonnie noticed this and almost instantly the color to her face returned and she felt she could move again.
"No not at all. It's just well, when we were younger I used to propose to every pretty girl I met for him to find him a wife. It embarrassed him so much, and I just know he's going to embarrass me some how now," Bonnie explained as she looked into Max's eyes.
"Ok then, we'll let's just disarm him then," Max replied with a smirk as he pushed up his glasses.
"How do you plan on doing that?" Bonnie inquired.
"Like this," Max said as he put his hand on Bonnie's cheek and gave her a deep loving kiss, in front of everyone there.
Many of the people who were in the area saw this and cheered while others whistled. Clemont stood there with his eyes wide, as his chance to get Bonnie back for years of embarrassing proposals blew up right before his very eyes.
When the kiss was broken both Max and Bonnie were as red as tomatoes, and had big smiles on their faces. They then continued to on to catch back up with the others. As they walked people clapped and patted them on the backs. They just walked by Clemont who still had a shocked and defeated look on his face.
————————————————————————
"Attention everyone, todays first match is about to begin," said the announcer over the loud speaker.
Everyone quickly got to there seats, all of them excited to see the Alola League Champion battle.
Ash was waiting on his end inside the tunnel with an official, waiting for his time to exit. Then in the form of a booming voice the signal came, and Ash started to walk out.
"First in the red corner, from Melemele Island, your Alola League Champion, Ash Ketchum!"
Ash walked out of the tunnel with Pikachu on his shoulder, to the cheers of the crowd as he approached the trainer box.
"And in the blue corner, from the Village of Dragons in the Unova region, Iris Dent!"
Iris also walked out to cheers as she walked out to her trainers box, although not as loud as for Ash.
Iris looked at Ash and smirked, "well Ash I hope your ready to lose, go Excadrill!"
Excadrill emerged from his pokeball, gave a battle cry, and took a battle stance.
Ash looked at Iris and just smiled at her remark as he released his first Pokémon.
"Ivysaur, I choose you!"
Ivysaur also let out at battle cry as he also took a battle stance.
"Well, atleast that bulbasaur evolved once," Iris scoffed, "but honestly it should have fully evolved by now."
Ash shook his head as he smirked, "such a little kid."
"What!" Iris spat angrily.
"You heard me. You told me before that because my Pokémon weren't fully evolved and that I was ok with it meant I was a bad trainer. But in actuality that is what made me a better trainer than you," Ash said calmly.
"How do you figure that!" Iris yelled back angrily.
"Simple, because I understand my Pokémon. It wasn't that Bulbasaur didn't want to evolve, he just didn't want to evolve until he was the strongest bulbasaur he could be. Now he doesn't want to evolve until he's the strongest Ivysaur he can be," Ash explained.
Iris didn't have a response to that, she merely grit her teeth in frustration. She wanted to say something back, but everything she came up with would either make her sound like a little kid or just make her look bad.
"This will be a three on three battle with no time limit, substations will be allowed. The match will end when one trainer is out of Pokémon able to battle. Are both trainers ready?" Announced the referee.
Ash and Iris both nodded.
"Battle begin!"
"Excadrill mud-slap, then follow up with metal claw," Iris yelled starting the battle.
Excadrill thrust both of his claws into the ground and pulled out a ball of mud in each claw, then started charging at Ivysaur. Then as he was running he threw both mud balls as his claws started glowing white.
"Razor leaf to counter the mud-slap, then use vine whip to send yourself up into the air to dodge, followed by seed bomb," Ash called out.
Ivysaur fires two razor sharp leaves from the leaves on his back. They slice threw the mud balls causing two small explosions. Ivysaur then extends all four of his vines, and sends himself into the air as Excadrill comes in for the strike. Then while still in the air the flower on Ivysaur's back glows white as he spins around mid air, aiming the flower at Excadrill. Then five green glowing balls fired from inside the flower at Excadrill. The first seed bomb hit at Excadrill's feet, sending him onto his back, the rest landed all around or right on top of him creating a dust cloud. As the dust cleared Excadrill was still conscious, but was struggling to get up.
"Come on Excadrill get up, we can't lose to him," Iris pleaded.
Excadrill heard Iris and forced himself back on his feet, ready to continue the battle.
"Not bad, Excadrill is definitely no push over," Ash commented with a smile.
This made Iris's blood boil, in her mind this just made him sound cocky.
"Excadrill use dig," Iris yelled.
Excadrill jumped into the air, puts its arms by it's head, and begins spinning like a drill as he hits the ground and begins tunneling.
"Not bad Iris, but that won't work here. Ivysaur stick your vines into the ground and feel for the vibrations of Excadrill tunneling. Then use those vines to pull him out," Ash called out.
Ivysaur sent out all four vines out and into the ground as he closed his eyes and focused. After I few seconds Ivysaur's eyes shot open and the vines began to move. In moments the ground started to shake as the vines quickly retracted. Then, like an explosion, Excadrill burst out of the ground, wrapped up in Ivysaur's vines.
"Excadrill no!" Iris cried out in shock.
"Ivysaur repeatedly slam him onto the ground," Ash yelled.
Ivysaur did as he was told and raised Excadrill fifteen feet off the ground and then slammed slammed him down hard, then repeated, again, and again.
Iris watched helplessly as she tried to figure a way out, but couldn't in time. After Excadrill being slammed down five times, it was over.
"That should be enough Ivysaur, let's send him back," Ash commanded.
Ivysaur used his vines to then toss Excadrill towards Iris. Excadrill hit the ground and rolled to a stop in front of Iris with swirly eyes.
"Excadrill is unable to battle! Trainer, please send out your next Pokémon," announced the referee.
Iris returned Excadrill and glared at Ash, who was just smiling back at her. Iris reattached Excadrill's pokeball to her belt and reached for her next pokeball.
"Haxorous time to battle," Iris said while throwing her next pokeball.
Haxorous landed on the field with a loud roar.
Iris smiled confidently at her loyal dragon. However he smile disappeared when she saw Ash clapping with a big smile.
"Congratulations on your evolution Haxorous, I'm sure your proud of yourself," Ash said to Haxorous.
Haxorous stood a little taller and smiled back as he nodded.
"Haxorous, focus. This is a battle and he's our opponent," Iris yelled.
Haxorous nodded and entered a battle stance, ready to battle Ash, but was surprised when he didn't see a Pokémon on Ash's side.
"Wait, when did you return your Pokémon!?" Iris asked.
"While you were busy yelling at Haxorous," Ash replied nonchalantly.
He reattached Ivysaur's pokeball to his belt and pulled off his next choice.
"Gabite, I choose you!" Ash yelled as he let the pokeball fly.
Gabite took the field, fighting the urge to bite down on Ash's head. He knew who his opponent was, and what his trainer did to his. The last thing he wanted was to make Ash look bad, and besides, this trainer spoke negatively of him too, so it was pay back time.
"So your Gible finally evolved too," Iris commented.
"Yup, he was just a late bloomer. He was really strong when he as a Gible, actually professor Kukui said he was the strongest Gible ever recorded. For some reason he just didn't evolve until last year, but it of course doesn't matter. All that matters is he's happy and healthy really," Ash replied.
Iris realized what Ash was doing, using not fully evolved Pokémon against her just to get back at her for what she said at the betrayal. Iris knew she was overconfident before with Ivysaur, but now she learned how that could hurt her. This time she was going to take this more seriously even though she feels she has the advantage.
"Both trainers ready?"
Ash and Iris nodded.
"Battle Begin!"
"Dragon Claw!" They both yelled.
Both Pokémon's claws glow light green as they charge at each other. Once in range they both swing their glowing claws at one another. The two Pokémon clash, swing after swing is either blocked or dodged. As this is happening, Iris is getting frustrated that a lower evolved dragon type Pokémon is able to hold its own against her fully evolved one. Then Ash says something that shocks her.
"Gabite, quit fooling around. Stop holding back and hit him," said Ash.
Everyone wasn't sure if Ash was trying to motivate Gabite or if he was being serious. Gabite jump back from Haxorous, sighed that he couldn't play anymore, and charged right back in. Haxorous swung a dragon claw at Gabite, but he easily dodged by jumping to the side. Gabite then lunged at Haxorous and slashed him in the face with both claws. Haxorous fell back and cried out in pain from the attack.
"Gabite, keep up the pressure with dragon tail," Ash called out.
Gabite's tail glows green as he charges in as Haxorous was getting up from the previous attack.
"Haxorous, look out, dodge it," Iris cried out.
Haxorus looked, but all he saw was green dragon energy from Gabite's tail as it hit. Haxorus was knocked back several feet and landed with swirly eyes.
"Haxorus is unable to battle, the blue trainer is down to her last Pokémon," said the referee.
Iris returned Haxorus in shock. She was not battling Ash Ketchum, loser trainer who competed six leagues and couldn't win either of them. Now here he was a league champion, and he has been moping the floor with her, most recently with an under evolved dragon type.
Iris shook her head, "so what if he beat two of my Pokémon without losing one, he just got lucky. Yes that's it, he's just been on this big lucky streak since he disappeared. Well now its going to end here with me, and I have just the Pokémon to do it," Iris thought to herself.
She grabbed her next pokeball and let it fly, "Garchomp, time to win!"
Garchomp entered the battlefield with a powerful roar directed at Ash. The roar was intended to try and intimidate him, but it had no affect. Instead Ash was focused of the mega stone hanging around Garchomp's neck.
"So, you have mega evolution on your side," Ash commented casually.
"That's right, and with it Garchomp is going to beat your whole team," Iris boasted arrogantly.
Ash raised an eyebrow. "Iris, you've only seen two of my Pokémon. I still have four more to choose from. I could easily have a Pokémon in that four that could take your Garchomp out and defeat you," Ash explained mater of factly.
Iris sweat dropped. "I know that. That's just how confident I am in Garchomp," Iris said, clearly embarrassed by the fact she missed that little fact.
Ash sighed, "whatever. Gabite you did great, return."
Ash reattached Gabite's pokeball and looked over to Pikachu down by his feet. "So who do you think buddy?"
"PIKA PIKA!" Pikachu yelled up to Ash as he made two fists.
Ash chuckled, "you read my mind buddy. Pickachu, I choose you!"
Pikachu jumped onto the battle field sparking his cheeks.
"Ash you do know that Garchomp is immune to electric attacks right?" Iris asked, her confidence fully restored.
"I'm aware, but typing doesn't mean everything. If Garchomp is immune to electric attacks, then we won't use electric attacks," Ash replied calmly.
"Fine then, it's Pikachu's funeral," Iris said as she revealed her keystone necklace. "Garchomp mega evolve!"
Garchomp mega evolved and gave a powerful roar, but Pikachu was unfazed as he continued to stare down Garchomp.
————————————————————————
Up in the league suite, everyone was looking down at the battlefield as whispers began to circulate about the match up.
"This doesn't look good," Max commented.
"What is it," asked Bonnie.
"The match up. Garchomp is immune to electric attacks, and Pikachu is an electric type," Max replied.
"True, but Pikachu does know more than electric type moves," Bonnie replied.
"I know, but still I don't know if it will be enough. I mean, Garchomp is immune to electric attacks and is mega evolved. If it was only one of those I would feel Ash has a chance, but both, I just don't think Pikachu can do it," Max explained.
"This is Ash and Pikachu here, they can do it," Serena added.
"What do you think Red," Delia asked.
Red looked down at the battlefield with a serious expression as he sized up the Pokémon and the trainers. All eyes were on him, awaiting his answer.
"The thing is Max you haven't seen Ash battle in years, we have. And I even saw both him and Cynthia both go all out last year at the Pokémon League headquarters," said Red.
"What!" Max commented surprised that he hadn't heard about this.
"In the battle with Lance, Ash didn't go all out," said Red.
"What?!" Max shouted in shock.
Red then smirked, "This isn't a fair match up. I feel sorry for Garchomp, but he's going to lose bad."
———–————————————————————
"Both trainers ready?"
Ash and Iris nodded.
Battle begin
"Pikachu run around Garchomp as fast as you can," Ash yelled.
Pikachu darted off towards Garchomp.
"Garchomp stop him with dragon pulse!" Iris commanded.
Garchomp opened his mouth and as a multicolored ball of dragon energy formed, then a dragon shaped beam fired at Pikachu.
"Pikachu dodge with agility, then use quick attack to counter, then proceed with our original plan," Ash yelled.
Pikachu appeared to disappear as he easily dodged the dragon pulse. Then he had a white outline as he slammed into Garchomp's chest, knocking him off his feet and onto his back. When Garchomp recovered and was back on his feet he saw what looked like multiple Pikachu running around him due to Pikachu's high speed.
"Pikachu, throw in some iron tails," said Ash.
Suddenly Garchomp stumbled forward after being hit in the back by iron tail. Then he was hit again at his left leg, bringing him down on one knee.
"Garchomp, use draco meteor to carpet bomb the area," Iris cried out.
"I don't think so, Pikachu use thunder to detonate the draco meteor as it's fired," Ash yelled.
Pikachu fires a massive bolt of electricity as an orange ball of energy forms in front of Garchomp's mouth. The thunder hits the draco meteor just as it was fired causing a large explosion, creating a massive dust cloud that hid the fate of Garchomp.
After a few seconds, enough of the dust had settled to see Garchomp was breathing heavily, but still was standing and ready to battle.
Iris breathed a sigh of relief that Garchomp wasn't knocked out. She looked up and saw Ash was messing with what looked like a watch.
"Excuse me, sorry if we're making you late for an appointment, but how about you give this match your attention and not your watch," spat Iris.
"This isn't a watch, it's my Z-ring," Ash said as he held up his wrist to show her.
"Z-ring? What is that?" Iris asked.
"Tsk tsk, what a little kid. Coming to the Alola region and not even knowing what a Z-ring is. I imagine you don't even know know what Z-crystals or Z-moves are do you?" Ash said in a slightly condescending tone.
Iris just scowled as she slowly shook her head.
Ash smirked, "ok then. In that case, I'll show you a steel type Z-move. Ready Pikachu."
Pikachu nodded, also with a smirk on his face. The two then began to make their coordinated poses, as beams of energy left from Ash and went to Pikachu.
"CORKSCREW CRASH!" Ash yelled.
Pikachu shot off like a rocket towards Garchomp, then jumped into the air going into a spin, still moving towards Garchomp. Pikachu hit Garchomp hard, sending him flying past Iris and into the wall behind her.
Iris's eyes were wide open as she continued to face forward. She was frozen in place as she tried to process what just happened. She then turned her head to see Garchomp stuck in the wall and reverted back to his original form with swirly eyes.
"Garchomp is unable to battle. Making Ash Ketchum the winner!" Announced the referee.
The crowd roared in approval. Iris fell to her knees as she returned Garchomp back to his pokeball. She looked over to Ash, only to see his back as he walked away, waving to his fans.
