After a few more words from Charles Goodshow the opening ceremony was over and people were filing out of the stadium. After the battle between Ash and Lance most of the people were pumped for the tournament, those competing wanting to show what their made of, while those just there to watch were excited to see more amazing battles. However there was one group that was a mixture of both competitors and spectators who, with the exception of one of them, felt very different after the match, they were the traitors and their parents along with Max. What they felt was nervous, almost to the point of fear, for they had no idea what Ash had in store for them. It didn't help that Max just wouldn't stop talking about the match. He was nervous as well, but more of an excited nervous as he wanted to see Ash again, but hoped it wouldn't be in match, as he didn't feel like he stood a chance against him. The rest of the group kept looking around, trying to keep an eye out for anything coming their way as they used the crowd for cover. Soon enough they were out of the stadium and the people started to disperse as there was now more room. The traitors started to pick up their pace to try and get to the pokemon center as quickly as possible. They just started walking on the main road that lead to the pokemon center when they became surrounded by several Gumshoos and police officers.

"What's going here!" Demanded Norman. "It's very simple. Several of you are under arrest." Everyone turned to the direction of the voice to see an Officer Jenny and Gumshoos walking up. "What are you talking about, we havent done anything." Stated Dawn's mother Johanna, slightly nervous. Officer Jenny then pulled four pieces of paper from her pocket. "I said some of you, not all. I have arrest warrants for, Norman Maple, Flint Stone, Lola Stone, and Johanna Berlitz." As she said each name a police officer walked over and put them in handcuffs. "You are all under arrest for soliciting the services of the cyber terrorist known as Fearow against Delia Ketchum." The name Delia Ketchum rang in the ears of Max when he heard it. He then ran in front of his father and the police officer taking him away. "Dad, is it true? Did you hire someone to do something to Ash's mom?" "Max, you need to understand..." "Just answer me, it's a simple question." Max was pleading with his father who just closed his eye's as he was taken away, leaving Max standing there watching. Just then Caroline and May put there hands on his shoulders. "Come on Max, let's go." Said Caroline. Max started to walk with them but stopped when a thought entered his mind. "Did you know." Max asked May and Caroline. "Max..." "DID YOU KNOW!" Max yelled this time. All the traitors looked towards him, but not at him. The police had left at this point, so Caroline spoke up, "yes Max we knew." "Why? Ash was a friend, and his mother was such a kind person." "Because Ash needed to be stopped." May chimed in. "Stopped?"Max Asked. May sighed, "Max, so young and naive. Ash kept getting involved with every criminal group he ran into and tried to stop them. It was only a matter of time before they came after us. So we tried to reason with him first," May then explained the events of five years ago, "and after that failed more drastic measures were needed." "So you went after him mom. What kind of people are you? He was our friend, risked his life for ours so many times, and this is how you repay him try and take his dreams away and try to destroy his life. Your worse than those criminal organizations you are so afraid of." May then slapped Max across the face. "Listen, we need to focus on the here and now. Ash is no doubt responsible for this, and I'm willing to bet he's somewhere near by watching." They all started to look around trying to spot him. "There he is!" Shouted Misty as she pointed. Everyone looked and saw him, Ash Ketchum with Pikachu on his shoulder, but they weren't alone. To his right was Serena with his arm around her shoulder, then was Clemont and Korrina. To his left was his mother Delia, then was Gary and Paul. "Ash." Said Max, excited to see Ash. He tried to walk to him but Brock grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back. "You. This is all your fault Ash Ketchum!" Yelled Caroline. "What, sending them all to prison? All I did was find the evidence for what they did and gave it to the police. It's their own fault that they're going to prison. The only reason your not going with them is because I couldn't find any evidence that you were involved." Ash said very calmly. "Why you. Blazikin ahhh." May started as she pulled a pokeball from her belt, ready to release it to attack Ash, but was stopped by a thunderbolt attack that didn't come from Pikachu.

Everyone, including Ash's group, looked in the direction that the attack came from. What they saw was a raichu with his cheeks still sparking, behind him was his trainer, none other than the World Champion Red. Red glared at May as she got back up, "little girl, if I ever catch you trying to use a Pokemon to attack another trainer I will see to it that your trainer license is revoked, THAT GOES FOR ALL OF YOU!" Red yelled the last part. "Now get out of my sight." The traitors started to walk off, Brock still had a grip on Max's arm and tried to pull him with them, "let go of me." Max said as he tries to escape Brock's grip. "Max your coming with us and that's all there is to it." Said Brock. "Leave him alone Brock." Said Ash ready to charge at him. "You can't do anything to me Ash, or else you'll be kicked out of the tournament for interfering with another trainer. I know the rules, you can't touch me." Brock said with a smug look. "He can't, but I can." Brock quickly turned and saw Red, just inches away from his face. "I'm not taking part in the tournament so I can do something. Now remove your hand off of him or else I'll remove it for you." Said Red with a voice so cold it sent shivers down everyone's spine that heard it. It was said that Red rarely showed any kindness towards anyone other than Pokemon, and if he ever threatened you to take it as a promise. The look in his eyes confirmed this as they looked cold and distant, showing he would never hesitate or regret any action he made. Brock released his hand from Max's arm and stepped away, with Reds eyes following him as he moved. "Max," Caroline said getting Max's attention, "I know your upset right now, so just take some time to cool off ok. We'll be waiting for you at the Pokemon center." With that they all walked off. Max just stood there looking down with his fists clenched. Ash then walked up to him, "Max I'm sorry about your dad." "Why," Max didn't look up. Ash feared the worst and looked down and was about to speak, but was cut off by Max, "why should you be sorry after what they did to you?" Ash was caught off guard and looked at Max. Max then looked up at Ash with tears welled up in his eyes, "I should be the one who's sorry. I should have been there for you. I could have..." Max was cut off by Ash putting his hands on his shoulders. "If you were there you wouldn't have been able to make a difference. They knew what they were doing and nothing was going to stop them." Ash said trying to comfort him. "Now dry those eyes. We're going to go get some lunch, why don't you come with us." "Ok." Max said as he smiled and dried his eye's. "Good, Bonnie will be so happy that you decided to join us." Ash said with a smirk. Max then turned bright red. Ash then looked at Red, "Thanks for the help, things probably would have been alot messier if you didn't show up." "Your welcome." Was all Red said. "Would you like to join us for lunch, there's always room for one more." Offered Ash. "No thanks, but I would like to have dinner with you and your family tomorrow night, there's something I'd like to discuss with you. Pick any restaurant, my treat." Said Red. This caught Ash off guard, "ok, how about ummm." But Ash wasn't able to decide in time as Delia spoke up, "how about dinner at Ash's house around six thirty, I'll cook." Everyone looked at Delia suprised, but even more surprising was Reds reaction, Red actually smiled, "that sounds nice. I'll see you then." He then walked off. "Mom, what was that all about?" "I have a feeling you'll find out tomorrow night." Delia responded. Everyone was still confused, but decided to drop it and headed to lunch.

After a few minutes they arrived at Ka Papa Hana Hou, where there was a huge line out the door. "Please tell me as the Alola Champion you don't have to wait." Max said to Ash when he saw the line. Ash smiled, "I don't have to wait, but not because I'm the Champion. I'm part owner so all I have to do is give them a heads up that I'm coming and how many people and they reserve enough space for me." Max gave a sigh of relief upon hearing this, as he was quite hungry and didn't think he could survive waiting through that line. They walked inside to the host desk where Ash announced himself to the host, "afternoon Meowth." A face looked up to reveal a meowth wearing a tropical flower themed short sleeve button down shirt. "Hey there Ash, the rest of your group is already at your table outside." Replied Meowth. Max then realized why the blue haired man looked familiar. "Wait a minute, your the meowth from team rocket, that means the guy with the blue hair must have been James." "Very astute pint sized twerp." Said Meowth. "Max," said Ash, this caused Max to look at him, "keep it down, I'll explain everything later, don't worry." Max was confused but decided to trust Ash. Meowth lead them outside where they saw Miette, Lillie, Shauna, Tierno, and Bonnie waiting for them. Upon seeing Max Bonnie quickly got up, took his hand, and lead him to a seat right beside her. Clemont who had Bonnie proposing to so many women for him in the past teased her a little bit, which brought laughter to the whole table. After the laughter dies down and everyone is given a water to drink by a Mimy Jr using physic, Max decides he needs to know what's going on. "Ok Ash, spill it. What's with team rocket doing here." Ash took a sip of water, "first Max, team rocket isn't anywhere anymore remember. The league champions and elite fours took care of team rocket and all the other criminal organizations." Ash said with a smile. "You were the one who got them on that didn't you?" Max deduced. "That's right. It all started about three and a half years ago, I just got the champions to agree to taking down the criminal organizations. We decided to start with team rocket since they were the biggest, so Lance sent his G men to find where they were held up. Unfourtnitly that was easier said than done, they spent months trying to find their headquarters but came up empty handed. Then we caught a lucky break, an officer Jenny caught Jessie, James, and Meowth in the Johto region. Considering my experience with them they sent me to try and make a deal with them.

Flashback
"Right this way the the interrogation room Mr. Ketchum." Said a Johto region Officer Jenny as she lead him through the police station. He was soon lead to a dark room with a one-way mirror allowing them to look into an interrogation room. Inside the room was Jessie from team rocket, and a police officer playing bad cop, trying to break her, but not having any luck. He then got frustrated and left the room and entered the observation room, "she won't crack, none of them will. Let's just lock them up already and quit wasting time." Said the officer who was clearly angry. "Not yet. Now it's my turn." Said Ash calmly. "Who are you?" Asked the officer. "Ash Ketchum, the Alola Champion, and the guy who's going to get the information we need." "You think you can do better than me? I've been doing this for twenty years. There's just some people who won't break." The officer said smugly. "We'll see. I want all three of them in the same room, a box of donuts, and four cups of coffee." The officer shook his head and sent a younger officer to get the donuts and coffee. A few minutes later Jessie, James, and Meowth were in the interigation room, and Ash was walking in the donuts and coffee. "Hey guys." Ash said casually. "TWERP!" They said in unison, shocked to see Ash walking in. "What is it, are you a cop now?" Jessie asked. "No, I'm the Alola Champion. I'm just here to make a deal." Ash said as he put the donuts and coffee down. Ash took one coffee and took a sip as the others took a donut and coffee. "Well as we told the flat foot, were not making any deals." Said Meowth. "I know, I saw him trying to get Jessie to take the deal. I understand why you wouldn't, he offered you all the deal as individuals, first one to take it gets it. The thing is I understand you better than he does. Your not three individuals, your family, and neither of you will take a deal that leaves the others high and dry." They looked a Ash suprised that he actually understood them that well. "That's why I'm here with a better deal. All three of you cooperate and tell us everything we want to know, and you all get a clean slate, records wiped clean, and full immunity when every other member of team rocket goes to trial. You get to walk away free people." They looked down and at each other, it wasn't that they didn't want the deal, they did. They were treated like dirt, bearly get paid enough to survive on even when they put their money together, there lives are even threatened regularly. "There's one problem," James said as he looked at Ash, "what happens after." Ash was confused, "what do you mean?" "Our criminal records are our resumes. All our lives we've been criminals, we won't be able to get a decent paying job anywhere." Said Jessie. "Well just be in a similar situation as we're in now, and will probably become criminals again to survive." Meowth added. Ash crossed his arms and started to think, understanding the issue and not wanting them to go back to crime. That's when it hit him. "Ok, let's sweeten the deal a bit then." They looked eager, as they expected Ash to offer them alot of money as well. "Do you remember Kalos when you three impersonated chefs at professor Sycamore's summer camp? Everyone loved the food you made." They nodded and Jessie spoke up, "remember what we said we aren't trained, no restaurant would hire us." Ash smiled, "I wasn't done. Here's the sweetened part for you. I don't fully trust you so the only way you get this part is you must agree completely to my terms." They nodded. Ash then continued, "You move to Alola so I can keep an eye on you. Then I will cover the initial expenses for you to start a restaurant of your own. I will be part owner because of the investment I'm making, but you will pay me ten percent of your profits every month until you pay me back the amount I invested. After you pay me back the restaurant will be completely yours. But, if you do anything illegal, I will have you arrested immediately. What do you say, do he have a deal?" They were looking down, James was the first to look back up, with his eyes fill of tears. "Deal, we'll do it." He tried to get up to hug Ash, but couldn't due to his cuffs being secured to the table. Ash looked at the others and could see them wiping the tears from their eyes.

Back to present
"After that they gave us more than enough information, including the locations of almost two dozen team rocket bases world wide. It only took us a week after that to catch Giovanni and the entire team rocket leadership." Ash said finishing his story. "What about the other organizations?" Max asked courious on what happened. "They were easy compared to team rocket. The G men are were very helpful there as they ensured nobody got away." Ash said. "So Jessie, James, and Meowth actually behaved?" Max said sounding suprised. "Don't be so shocked." Max turned and saw Jessie, James, and Meowth walking up. "We know a good deal when we see one." Meowth added. "Thanks to Ash life for us couldn't be better, business is booming, we get to lay out on one of the best beach's in the world weekly, life is good." Said James. "Ash, they released the the first round battles." James said handing Ash a tablet. Ash looked for his name, "looks like I get tomorrow off and my first battles the day after." Because of the number of participants the first round will take two days, while the others will only take one. Ash smiled as he handed the tablet to Max. "Ash, it says your first opponent is Iris," Max says in a serious tone. "That's right, she's where I show them all how wrong they were," Ash said confidently. Max looked for his battle, and a look of dread came on his face when he saw his opponent, "Oh no. I'm against Misty in the first round." "Is that the loud mouth with the orange hair?" Asked Bonnie. Everyone laughed at the remark."yea that's her," Max's smile was gone now, "I can never manage to beat her." Ash put his hand on Max's shoulder, "Well this time, your going to win. James?" James then handed Max a box. Max looked at the box, then at Ash, confused about the box. "It's just a little something to give you an edge." Max started to open the box as Ash continued, "I've been keeping up with your time in the leagues over the years and I think those will work." Max opened the box and was in complete shock at what he saw. "Ash, are these...." Ash smiled, "a key stone, Gardivoirite, and Sceptilite. Congratulations Max, you can now Mega Evolve two of your pokemon." Max couldn't take his eyes off of the stones as he smiled, "thank you Ash, thank you so much." "Don't mention it. How about we head back to my place after we eat and we try those out." Ash offered. Max then looked sad, "my Pokemon are at the Pokemon center. I'm going to need to grab my stuff while I'm there. I don't want to stay with them any more." "Well where are you going to stay?" Ash asked. "I brought my camping gear since I was planning on taking on the Alola league after the tournament, so I guess I'll camp out somewhere." Max replied. "Well you can camp out at my house or you can use the guest bedroom, which ever you prefer." "Thanks Ash, I think I'll take the guest bedroom." Soon after the group ate, they headed to the Pokemon center where Korrina ended up putting Brock in a head lock when he was making it difficult for Max to get his things, and partly for him flirting with her the day before. Upon seeing this everyone backed away and let Max get his things and leave. After, they all headed to Ash and Serena's house so Max could test out his new Mega Stones.
