(A/N: Okay, I know I said only one chapter of a story per week. But as it's my last week of school EVER, I needed something to get my mind of that reality somehow. Because I ain't ready to grow up yet! But yeah, you guys get a new chapter with a l'il bit of romance~ So yeah, enjoy my little cuties <3)
(Megan POV)
After healing me, Gladion decided it would be best to take a small walk to cool our heads. Since it was now sunset the routes should be rather pretty to look at.
'There.' Gladion pointed towards a tree. 'That seems like an ideal spot to transform, unless you want to stay as Silvally for a while?' He looked at me questionably.
'Nah, I'll change... Don't want to attract too much attention to myself.' I shrug, before walking behind the large Palm tree. I pictured my human self in my head, and soon I felt the familiar dizziness which confirmed I had transformed. I looked down at my hands and smiled slightly, and emerged from the shadows towards my friend.
'Hey.' I smiled
'Hey.' He replied.
There was about ten seconds of silence, before both of us erupted with cheers and squeals as we ran towards each other. Gladion wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me up, spinning round in a circle while I had my arms round his neck.
'I still can't believe you evolved!' Gladion beamed. Man I haven't seen him this happy since... well forever.
'Nor can I. I was just thinking about how much I trusted you and BAM! Evolution~' I grinned, and Gladion laughed at my exaggerated hand gesture.
'Well, I'm happy you trust me.' He smiled sincerely, making me blush.
'Y-Yeah, whatever! Now are you gonna put me down?' I frowned, realising he still had my feet off the ground. (A/N: Hehe, that rhymed :3)
'I don't know. I'm kinda liking getting to hold you like this.' He shrugged, his cheeks were now pink too.
'Huh?'
'I-I mean... ugh, sorry...' he murmured, turning his head away and placing me down. Though his arms were still holding onto my waist.
'Hey don't worry about it, dude. Did I say it was uncomfortable? I don't think so!' I smirked, pinching his cheeks which made him chuckle.
'Yeah I guess not...'
Soon, our foreheads touched once again, like they did just after I evolved, and our eyes met. His bright emerald orbs showed kindness and passion, but that only masked the pain he carried from when he was a child. It still hurt my heart just thinking about what this boy had been through.
'Megan... I...' He began, but for some reason he didn't finish. Next thing I knew, the two of us slowly began leaning in closer, and our lips were about to meet, until:
*Ring* *Ring*
Gladion's phone began ringing ('Cause that's not f***ing cliché at all!) Causing him to pull away and remove one of his hands from my back to take the device out his pocket. He looked at the contact and raised a brow. 'Wickie? What could she want?' He murmured while unwrapping his other arm from my waist. 'Hold on Megs I gotta take this.'
'M'kay.' I shrugged, and gave him a thumbs up before standing under a palm tree. Then realisation hit me like a stampede of Touros.
'Holy Shinx and Eevees! We almost kissed! Omygosh Omygosh OMYGOSH!'
My face turned fifty shades of red, and I hid it in my hands from embarrassment. In the background I could hear Gladion talking to Wickie, he didn't sound too pleased....
'Hey Wickie, what's up?... Yes... Uh-huh... What?... You think it's-... No no no it's not a burden at a-....... Yeah... There's no changing your mind, is there?... Alright fine... Yeah I get it... Alright... Yeah, bye Wickie.'
He sighed and hung up, dropping his hand to his side in the process, and looked at me with an irritated face.
'What was that about?' I frowned, crossing my arms and raising an eyebrow.
He sighed again, and placed the device into his pocket. 'Wickie doesn't want us to help out at Aether Paradise anymore...' He said, grumbling.
A small part of me was glad, though I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. 'Why?'
'She thinks it's too much of a burden for children...' He replied, running his hand through his hair.
'Well...' I began 'She's not wrong. I mean, you're only fourteen Gladion. And running an entire foundation is a lot of responsibility.'
'You too?! Jeez what are you my mother or something?' He spat with irritation in his voice.
I scoffed. 'Me? The mother of a complete Edgelord? Yeah no thanks...'
He crossed his arms and grumbled, making me stifle a giggle from how childish he looked. 'But I still worry about you, Gladion. You need to worry about yourself more, or you may go way beyond your limits and end up getting hurt. I don't want that to happen to you.'
I reached my hand up and touched his cheek gently, the contact made his skin shiver slightly and his face to turn slightly pink. I chuckled at this.
'Why did you suddenly seem serious? I don't think I like this side of you....' He joked. Honestly, I was surprised he hadn't pulled away but instead seemed to be leaning more into my hand. I shrugged.
'I'm just complicated.'
Gladion chuckled, and held onto my hand, the one touching his cheek. Soon we realised what position we were actually in, making us blush bright red. We stepped back and rubbed the back of our necks in embarrassment.
'I- Uhm- I-I'm-' I stutter, struggling to find the words.
'Yeah- Uh- Well-...' Gladion seemed to have the same problem.
'Sorry.'
We paused, surprised that we said the exact same thing, at the exact same time, in the exact same tone! •0•
'Woah!'
'We just said-'
'The same thing-'
'Okay stop that!'
'No I'm-...
'Serious-'
'Oh my Arceus-'
Gasping, we covered our mouths and stared wide eyed at each other. This had never happened before. But then, it started, the biggest laughing fit ever.
'Psh HAHAHAHAHAHA!'
'That was weird...' I snorted, wiping away a few tears. 'It's like our minds were connected or something.' (Star vs the forces of evil :3)
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Gladion gasped. This made me tilt my head. 'What was that for?'
'I forgot to mention, that Wickie also wanted us to go to Poni Island to help Sun and Lillie. Since they probably have the Moon flute by n-'
Before he could finish, I let out the biggest yawn in history which cut him off (Overstatement... it wasn't that big of a yawn) 'Sorry...' I apologized, rubbing my eyes. Gladion chuckled softly and placed his hand onto my shoulder.
'It's alright. I honestly don't blame you for being tired. A lot did happen today.' He said in a comforting voice, with his emerald eyes glimmering in the sunset and his platinum locks waving slightly in the warm Alolan breeze. I can't lie, he looked beautifully handsome.
I mean he always does-
Wait...
Do I...
Oh coconuts...
The blushing... the heartbeats... the comfort... the almost kissing!
I... I'm in love with Gladion... aren't I...?
It makes sense. The way I feel about him is greater than any other feelings I've had towards anyone else. He just makes me feel... different. Like my life actually means something. Being close to him makes me feel safe, like no harm can come to me with him by my side. Does that make sense? He's like... the light in my darkness, the sun to my moon. I don't know what started it but I just love being around him.
But he'll never feel the same way, there is no chance he'll see us as more than just partners... I'll just have to accept that. He doesn't have to know.
I'll... be happy just being around him.
'Uhh, Megan? You still alive in there?' a voice asked along with a finger poking at my cheek, pulling me back into reality.
'Hmm? Oh, yeah... just-' I yawn again 'a little out of it...' I wasn't lying, being exhausted can make anyone's mind muddled. Yeah, that's it...
Gladion chuckled again, before picking me up bridal style. 'Don't worry, I gotcha...'
His cologne tickled my nose as I buried my head into his chest. 'Heh, thanks Edgelord...'
'No problem, Lady Sarcasm.'
'Did you just think of that now?' I asked with a smirk, turning my head only slightly to look at him from the corner of my eye.
'Maybe~!' He replied, sounding rather amused at himself.
'Pfft, you're a dork...'
'Well, you're a klutz.' be retorted, making me cross my arms and turn my head away, sulking.
'But you're my klutz...' he muttered with a volume which was just barely audible. This made my heart feel like it was gonna leap out of my chest. Did he really say that? Or was I imagining? I really wish I wasn't... but no point in holding on to something that isn't there...
'You are just partners, Megan... do you really want to lose what you already have over some feelings he probably doesn't return?'
I knew my brain was right... but why was my heart thinking otherwise...?
Before I knew it, I drifted off into a dreamless sleep. Safe in Gladion's arms.
(Gladion POV)
Megan grew quiet and still in my arms, making cute little noises which told me she was asleep. I sighed, and made my way to the docks. There I bought two tickets to Poni Island, boarded the ferry, and sat down with Megan's head resting on my lap.
This reminded me of something. The day I saved her from Aether Paradise those two years ago. We were in the exact same position, except for the fact she was a Type:Null back then...
I smiled at the memories we had made over the years, and began softly stroking her hair lovingly. This seemed to make her even more relaxed than she already was, so I continued.
'It's strange...' I thought 'How did these feelings come to be?'
(Megan POV)
I woke up, but didn't open my eyes since the light surrounding me was bright. And judging from the slight rocking, and the amount of people around, I would say I was on a boat of some kind.
The next thing I noticed, was the fact that a hand was gently caressing my hair. The touch sent tingles down my spine, but it wasn't uncomfortable in any way, in fact it was pretty enjoyable. I wanted to know who was doing it, so I cracked my eye open slightly to glance at the the person. And behold, it was none other than Gladion. Closing my eyes again I let out another big yawn, which seemed to catch Gladion's attention.
'Megan? Are you still asleep?'
'Whoops...
'Yes...' I replied groggily, turning my back to him.
'Then why did you reply?' He asked smugly, making me mentally roll my eyes.
'Because ex machina...' I muttered, while opening my left eye to look up at him.
'What...?'
'I dunno-' I yawn again 'Luke told me that whenever someone asks me a question I don't want to answer, I should answer with that...'
'You're weird...'
'Why thank you.'
'That wasn't a compliment.'
I pout. 'Wow, Frenchfry... why so rude?'
'Did... you just-'
'Yes. Yes I did.'

Gahhh, the feeeeeeels ;-;
