Third Person's POV
"I'm pleased to announce that the class of 2019, Bighit's seniors, and some juniors, has graduated!" The students cheered, graduation caps thrown into the air at the end of his words. "To the class of 2019!" The board shouted into the microphone, followed by the students sitting in the stadium.
"We'd like to present to you, Kim Seokjin, Senior class president and his speech that he's prepared just for us today." From the row down on the ground floor of the stadium, Jungkook and his friends spotted Jin, standing up from his seat and heading towards the podium.
"Thank you," He spoke into the microphone, setting his speech onto the podium as the students fell silent at the clearing of his throat. "When we graduated high school, we were happy, because it signaled the next chapter to our story," Jin said, glancing up at the audience.
"And as we entered college, we prepared ourselves for the worst, and also for the best." Jungkook watched with an intense gaze that was filled with adoration and love for Jin. "Some entered with a goal- a plan for the future with their path already paved and achievements already set."
Cheers were heard by a few students, smiles on people's faces. "And some of us entered without that- without a clue of what we were doing. We enrolled with a hope to figure out what our paths were meant to be, what our place was in life." At this, Jin looked up at the audience, flashing a grin.
"I am one of those students." Taehyung, who sat beside Jungkook, found himself nodding at Jin's words. One, being he was that student too, and two because he knew Jin enrolled without a plan. "When I enrolled at Bighit University, I had the hopes of letting someone else carve my path and figure out who I was meant to be."
"Yet, as I walked the journey of college, I found myself figuring out the pieces to the seemingly long puzzle." Jin turned his head to look at the students sitting in the bleachers of the stadium, eyes scanning over every row. "I met people who became dear to my heart, friends who joined the journey with me and walked beside me."
"And in the midst of all the chaos experienced during my four years here, I've managed to find out just who I'm meant to be, and the role I'm meant to play." He was beaming, eyes turning glossy as his picture appeared on the big screens. "It wasn't easy, and that's because it's not supposed to be."
"College is the period in our lives where we figure out who we are, and just who we're meant to be. And as we celebrate today, with friends and family, with loved ones, we know," He paused, taking a deep breath and gripping the microphone tighter.
"We know just who we're meant to be."
Cheers were heard as Jin smiled, his eyes scanning over the stadium as the class of 2019 grew loud and joyous. "We walk out of this stadium today with new goals, new passions, new achievements, and a new purpose. We walk out of our college lives with new knowledge, the knowledge we didn't have walking in!"
"So, I'm concluding this speech dedicating my appreciation to everyone who has stepped into my life and given me a part of myself that I once didn't have." Jin could be seen tearing up, his eyes finding his friends. "I thank you, my dear friends, for showing me a world I didn't know existed."
"To our new chapters, new lives, new memories, new dreams, and new journeys!" He shouted into the microphone as he grabbing his cap and readied himself to throw it. "Congratulations, Bighit class of 2019!"
Everyone stood up, including Jungkook and his friends, clapping loudly. Jungkook started the chant, raising his fist into the air and cheering for Kim Seokjin. Taehyung followed right behind him, with their friends continuing it and eventually getting the whole stadium to cheer for Jin.
"Kim Seokjin!" They chanted, staring directly at Jin who was teary-eyed with a few tears running down his cheeks. Jungkook smiled, racing down the steps, heading for the ground floor where all the graduating seniors were. He ran, taking a turn here and there until he reached the very bottom.
Then he ran towards Jin, earning the attention of everyone in the stadium. Jin opened his arms for the younger, embracing him in a tight hug when they met, arms entangling around each other. "Thank you," Jin whispered, tears staining his cheeks. Jungkook buried his head in Jin's shoulder, hugging him tighter.
"No, thank you, Jin." As he pulled away, he took the microphone from the podium, putting it up to his lips and taking a deep breath. Jin deserves this. "Many of you know who I am, and if you don't, I'm Jeon Jungkook, the boy who's a runaway from an abusive household. Most of you know my story, but how would you react if I told you that the man who helped me get back on my feet was the one standing before you all today?"
"Kim Seokjin," Jungkook said, turning to look at his eomma. "You found me, cold and hidden in an alleyway. Despite us being strangers, and living completely different lives, you extended your hand for me to take and offered me warmth." Jin's eyes widened.
"And as if that wasn't enough, you offered me a place to stay, to call my home. You picked me up from my place on the ground and put me on this pedestal, telling me to think better of myself. I was broken, yet you never saw me that way. You saw me as me, your friend, and your son." With a smile, Jungkook took Jin's hand and raised it in the air.
"And from that day forward, you've never stopped seeing me as your child. You helped me stand when I was on the ground, building my tumbled walls back up and repairing the damage deep inside me." Jin was full-on crying, burying his face in his arm to hide his teary eyes.
"You did all of this out of the kindness of your heart because you couldn't bear to leave a teenager to rot on the streets with people who were up to no good. You took me in and gave me a new life, one with friends, family, happiness, love, and excitement." Jungkook smiled, wrapping his arms around Jin.
"Ladies and gentlemen," He said, turning to the audience. "I share this information with you, not for pity, but for the praise, adoration, and affection this man deserves. Kim Seokjin is a huge part of my life, and he deserves recognition for what he's done for not only me but for his friends too!"
"I love you, eomma," He concluded, setting the microphone down and hugging Jin tightly. The silent audience burst into applause, chanting Jin's name again as their friends joined in on the hug. Tears were shed, and smiles were shared with one another.
"Let's go celebrate," Namjoon said, breaking the silence between all seven of them. They nodded, walking out of the stadium, cheering for the newly graduated students from Bighit university. They split up, heading to their cars and agreeing to meet up at Jin's cafe.
And so they did, the blond and the pink-haired male heading towards Taehyung's car and getting in. Taehyung tapped his fingers against the steering wheel, staring ahead at the parking lot that was filled with cars. "You know," He said, breaking the silence. "What you did for Jin, that was really nice of you."
"For years, Jin put himself down and degraded who he was. He didn't have a purpose, according to him, and he almost ended things as they were. Namjoon and I helped him out of that, but since then he's never gotten the true recognition he deserves." Jungkook watched his lover, keeping his mouth clamped shut.
"And today, he received it, not only from his graduating class but from everyone in the bleachers. Thank you for giving him that. He deserved it." Jungkook nodded, leaning over and planting a kiss to Taehyung's cheek, then to his lips as the blond turned his head.
"I did what I felt he deserved, what was right. He helped a lot, you know? You did too, but without Jin, I can't say I'd be here with you today." Taehyung nodded, turning on the car and putting it in drive. "Did you finish up your surprise for Jin and Namjoon?"
"In fact," Jungkook said, grinning widely, "I did!" The blond smiled, pressing on the gas as he turned out of the parking space he was in and headed for the exit. He spotted Hoseok's car not too far away along with Yoongi's and Namjoon's. He followed behind them, heading down the street towards Jin's cafe.
"And the stuff for the party? All setup?" Jungkook asked, leaning back in his seat, taking a quick glance out of the window. "All set. I got Hoseok to help me with last-minute decorations, so it's all set up. The baseball team is already in and ready to surprise them."
"Perfect!" Jungkook exclaimed, glancing in the backseat to find his and Taehyung's formal attires laid out for the party. It was still early in the day, but they were dedicating the rest of the hours for the newly graduated students.
And so, when they arrived, the seven got off the car and unlocked the cafe door, walking into the darkness. Jungkook flicked the lights on and they all yelled surprise, startling Namjoon and Jin. But, as everything calmed down, Jin shed some more tears and thanked everyone.
The party began and they celebrated, changing into their fancy attires and dancing the night away- quite literally. Jimin made the cake, with Jin's recipe which he stole, and Taehyung made the food. Jungkook organized the party and planned out the decorations. Yoongi and Hoseok bought them and helped set them up.
And Yoongi was in charge of the music.
So, when the night began to near its end, at around 10:38, Jungkook dimmed the lights and made everyone sit at the booths except for Jin and Namjoon. They received special chairs just for them, positioned in the center of the room- where they got the best view of the projector.
"Kim Seokjin and Kim Namjoon," The video began to play, Jungkook's voice ringing through. "Where do I even begin?" There's a little giggle that fills the speakers, and Jungkook doesn't even have it in him to feel embarrassed, too engrossed in his own video. "First off, Congratulations!"
"You two have worked hard and you deserve this, your diploma and your very own graduation surprise party." The pair in the center of the room smiled, watching the video closely. "Kim Seokjin, I want to thank you for everything you've done for me, leading up to this very moment."
"From our first encounters in the alley down the street to here, to graduation day, all of us gathered in the Cafe." There was a pause, Jungkook's smile seen on the wall from where the projector was displaying the video. "Thank you for taking a peek into the alleyway that morning. Thank you for offering me a place to relax that day, and handing me free hot chocolates."
"Thank you for allowing me to stay, then asking me at the end of the day if I had a place to go home to. Thank you for offering your home to me." Jungkook looked at Taehyung, grabbing his hand and intertwining his fingers. "Kim Namjoon, thank you for allowing me to live with you. Thank you for supporting me, for giving me a shoulder to cry on when I had no one."
"Thank you both for the clothes you bought me, the food you made me, the home you gave me, and the love you planted inside of me. Thank you for showing me your friend group and taking your time with me. Thank you for every memory we made together, for every laugh, every tear, every smile, everything." Jungkook glanced at Namjoon and Jin to see them teary-eyed.
"I wouldn't be who I am now if it wasn't for you. You closed the old chapter of my story and opened the new, helping me write the first words then letting me take off on my own. You may have not written my story, but you're definitely a part of it. Thank you. I'm forever grateful for both of you." There's another giggle that rumbles through the speakers as everyone stares at the video.
"Congratulations on your graduation. We'll definitely miss you at school, but we're happy to see you start the new chapter of your lives, together. I appreciate both of you, and I appreciate everything you've done for me up until now." The music in the video began to die down, signaling the end. Jungkook squeezed Taehyung's hand, watching his own recording with anticipation. This was it.
"Namjoon and Jin," The video paused for a few seconds, Jungkook's smile seen on the wall again as he picked up a picture and put it to where the camera could see it. "I may not have had the best family with the best parents, but I have you both." Jin's tears fell faster and a lot harder as he put a hand over his mouth.
"You're the parents I never had, but the ones I've always wanted." Then, Namjoon cried too, glancing at Jungkook. "And now, well," Another giggle, "Now I have the parents I've always wanted." The video faded, Jungkook's final line ringing throughout the cafe.
"I love you, eomma and appa. Thank you."

I am so drained. If this chapter isn't good I'm so sorry. I tried my best to make it sentimental and really special but I'm not sure if I succeeded.
Also, if there are errors in this chapter, forgive me. I'm too lazy at the moment to check.
I purple you 💜
