Chapter 20: Pastel

(Sun POV)

'I'll get it!' I yelled through the house as the doorbell rang, and sprinted downstairs to see who it was. Though I already had a pretty good idea. As soon as I made it to the door I took a moment to regain my breath, before placing my hand on the handle pushing it.

'Lev!'

'Sun!'

I hugged my boyfriend, which he happily returned. We pecked each other on the lips quickly before pulling away.

'Ahem.'

A cough came from the person next to him, causing me to turn my attention to her. A woman, about twenty five was staring at me with an awkward grin.

'Oh, sorry I didn't see you there. You must be Pastel.' I smiled gently, holding out my hand.

She seemed to relax at my words and nodded 'That's right. I assume you're Sun?' She asked, shaking my hand.

'Yes.'

'It's a pleasure to meet you. Leven's told me so much about you.'

I blushed, scratching behind my ear and giving Leven a side glance. 'O-Oh. I see...'

Pastel giggled 'They were all good things, don't worry.'

Soon another cough made me pause what I was doing, this time coming from my blue-haired nerd. Pastel and I raised an eyebrow at him.

'Sorry to interrupt your introductions, but we are here for a reason.' Wow someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning...

'Ah, right!' Pastel snapped her fingers 'So, where's the new mother-to-be?'

'She's in the front room with Gladion.' I answered 'I'll take you to them if you want.'

'Yes, please. This house is huge!'

'I know right?' I chuckled 'Anyway follow me, you two.'

The three of us walked down the hallway, passing doors until we found ourselves outside the living room. Gladion and Megan were on the couch, but even though the tv was on they weren't watching. They were too busy making out!

(Megan POV) (Bit of fluff coming. Just warning ya)

I was currently pressed against the arm of the couch, Gladion hovering over me, his mouth melting in mine, my hands tangled in his hair as I hummed against his lips. My eyes fluttered open as he gently kissed my jawline and neck. I was totally aware that anyone could walk into us like this, but I didn't care right now. I felt like the two of us were completely alone.

I giggled as his lips brushed against a certain spot behind my ear, and I slightly pushed him away by placing my hand on his chest. 'Gladion, stop~' I squeaked between laughs, as butterflies continued to fly around my stomach.

He chuckled, gently kissing my collarbone, which was exposed since I was wearing my tank top. 'I can't help it. You're just so beautiful.'

'Ew, cut the PDA!' A disgusted voice said from the doorway, causing the two of us to shoot up and peek over the couch. There stood Sun, staring at us with his nose wrinkled and arms crossed.

'This is our house, Sun.' I pout.

'Don't matter, you have guests that are staying over. You're lucky it was me who caught you snogging and not Lillie! Poor girl would've been mortified!' He scolded 'Ugh, you know what whatever. You have a visitor.'

Gladion and I glanced at each other from the corner of our eye. Both of us were frowning in confusion 'Who?' We asked in sync.

'Remember when I asked Leven if he knew anyone who can help with your pregnancy a few days ago?'

'...Yeah?'

'Yeah, that person.'

'Oh.'

'You can come in now, Pastel.' Sun called, and in came a young woman. She seemed to be in her mid-to-late twenties, and had short white hair with pink tips, dark green eyes and pale skin. She was short, about Sun's shoulder height, and was slightly plump. She had a very pretty face, I must admit.

I was snapped out of my daze as another person walked in. This time someone I wasn't happy to see.

'Leven...' I growled under my breath.

'Guys, this is Pastel. She'll be helping you from now on until the big day.' Leven introduced, completely ignoring the death glare I was sending him. I did cease it however to send 'Pastel' a warm smile.

'Welcome, Pastel. Please make yourself at home.' I told her politely.

'Thank you.' She bowed slightly 'I hope I'll be of assistance to you. After all, I'll basically be your 'pregnancy therapist' for nine months.'

Gladion chuckled, wrapping an arm around my shoulders 'Yeah, I guess you will be.'

'Well then, I guess we'll leave you three to it.' Sun stated, taking Leven's hand and leading him out the room 'Good luck, guys.'

'Thanks, Sun!' I called to him.

'No problem!'

'Now then!' Pastel clapped her hands together 'Shall we get started?'

Gladion nodded 'We shall.'

(Ashley POV)

Tick. Tick. Tick.

That was the only sound that could be heard. The clock working perfectly, with its handles slowly turning round in a clockwise pattern to show the time. How long has it been? Days... Weeks... Months...? However long it is, it seems like an eternity to me since Luke and Laura went missing. Yes, I know their real names. I have for some time now. I know their secrets, and why they hide themselves behind a mask. I know why they disappeared from their home those seven years ago. I know of theirs and Megan's past and what all of them went through. I have no idea why they- well, Luke trusted me with this information. But he did. 'I'd rather not hide things from the one I care about so much.' He told me. That was the day he revealed his face to me. The day we went from friends to lovers. I remember we were watching the sun set while leaning against some railings. The sky was orange, and so was the sea. And Luke- he looked like an angel. The orange light reflected off his skin and flowing hair, and caused his eyes to gleam. I remember his sheepish smile and tinted pink cheeks when he confessed to me. I remembered his soft touch when he held my hands in his. It was a perfect moment. One straight from a movie.

I missed moments like that. I missed moments like that with him. Without him here, I felt almost empty. Of course Megan and her friends can put a smile on my face, but the misery remained in the back of my head. And it would only go away if those two are found.

My eyes didn't shift from the window, as they watched the day slowly go by. I suppose I was hoping for a sign. A sign that my fiance and his sister would be found. I blinked slowly, struggling to keep my eyelids open as I waited. I had been living off one hour of sleep a day, as the rest of the time I am either too scared to sleep, or calming myself from the nightmares I keep getting of what might be happening to Luke and Laura during their absence. It was horrible. But it was even more horrible that when I woke up, Luke wasn't next to me to assure it was only a dream. What if it wasn't? Or what if something similar was happening. I whimpered at the thought.

'I miss you...' I whispered 'If only I had a clue... Something to send me on track...'

I suddenly jolted out of my seat, as a yellow head popped up from outside. It was obviously a Pokemon, and it was staring at me as if it was waiting for something.

'An... Ampharos?' I mumbled, raising an eyebrow at the electric type. Ampharos tapped on the window with its hand(?), as if to tell me to open it. I did so, and rested my crossed arms on the windowsill, not breaking eye contact from the Pokemon. 'What are you doing here? Do you have a trainer? If so-'

Ampharos held up its hand to signal me to stop, causing me to stare in confusion. It then lifted its other arm and held a piece of paper out to me. Hesitantly I took it and glanced at it suspiciously.

'What's thi-' I was cut off as Ampharos scampered off, leaving me on my own once again 'Oh... Well, it's gone. Didn't even answer my question.'

I once again looked at the paper and examined it. It was folded in half, and one of the sides had a logo of some kind imprinted on it. It looked like a star constellation, which was shaped into the letter 'A'. A? What did that mean?

'I guess... I should open it?' I asked myself.

Do it! My mind screamed at me.

Letting out a deep breath, since I was holding it for some unknown reason, and slowly unfolded the paper. Or rather, the note.

Dear Aether,

I'm sure this note has come as quite a shock to you, huh? I hope my Ampharos didn't cause too much trouble while delivering it to you.

Anyway I'll get straight to the point. You have something we want. Or rather, someone. You may know her as the youngest child of the Artemus family.

Just so you know, we have those two Zarack nuisances. They're currently under our 'care'.

You want their pain to stop? Hand over the girl! I expect your decision by the end of the month.

Sincerely,

Aries

Scientist of the A.L.I

PS - Don't even think about showing this to the police. Because we will know. Oh, and, give Megan our congratulations on the baby.

My eyes widened as I finished reading, and I covered my mouth in horror. These... A.L.I f*ckers had Luke and Laura. I know, because 'Zarack' was their fake last name.

'The youngest child of the Artemus family...' I read out loud, squinting at the phrase before letting out a loud gasp. 'Megan! They want her!'

It made sense. The search for the three siblings was still on even after seven years. They already had two, so it's no doubt they'd want the third. But... this meant...

'I have to tell everyone...' I muttered to myself 'Megan could be in danger.'

(Megan POV)

'So... the symptoms I'll be feeling are: Morning sickness, food cravings, aching back and feet, and eventually mood swings?'

'Yes.'

I hunched over on the couch, groaning into my hands 'I am not looking forward to this...'

Pastel chuckled lightly 'Trust me, sweetheart, it'll be worth it as soon as the little gumdrop arrives.'

'I sure hope so...'

'Don't worry, it will.' The woman stood, taking her handbag and slinging it over her shoulder 'Anyway, I think that's enough for today. You have my number, so feel free to call me whenever you need to talk.'

'We will. Thank you Pastel.' Gladion nodded, sounding sincere even though he kept a straight face.

We waved at her, as she saw herself out. For some reason she insisted we let her do that. I breathed out, staring down at my legs. I couldn't help but feel nervous.

'Hey it'll be fine,' Gladion assured, resting his hand on my thigh 'After all, It's not like I'm not gonna help you through this. I'll be right by your side, whether you like it or not.'

I giggled lightly, resting my head on his shoulder 'How will you deal with the mood swings?'

'Oh I'll just get Crobat to use Supersonic on you.'

'What?'

'Love you~'

I rolled my eyes playfully, and felt Gladion wrap his arm around my waist. Quiet moments like this with him are perfect, no matter where we are. It was short lived however, as four people slid into the room.

'Guys!' Sun wheezed, bending over and holding his knees as he tried regaining his breath.

'We- Note- Problem!' Was all Hau could get out, as he was breathing heavily.

'What...?' I whispered, staring at him in confusion. I literally had no idea what he was getting at.

'Hau, what did Lillie say about talking and breathing at the same time?' Gladion sighed.

'Thank you!' Lillie yelled. She was also panting. In fact, so was Ashe.

'Why the heck are you all so winded?' I asked, as both my boyfriend and I stood from the couch. 'Is there something wrong?'

'Yes.' Ashley stood up straight and held up a sheet of paper between her two front fingers, a stern expression on her face 'Guys, we have a problem.'
