gravity
Something always brings me back to you. It never takes too long. No matter what I say or do, I'll still feel you here until the moment I'm gone.
"John!" Sherlock's panic is evident in that baritone voice of his. His galaxy-like eyes are wild. His raven hair is messy and tousled, like he's been running his hands through it nervously.
"Sherlock..." I instantly fall into his strong arms, running my fingers up and down his spine.
"I thought you'd never return," he whispers against the shell of my ear.
"I'll always come back to you, Sherlock. No matter what happens."
You hold me without touch. You keep me without chains. I never wanted anything so much than to drown in your love and not feel your rain.
Go. Go while you still can, John Watson. Run. You'll regret it if you don't.
Sherlock was having one of his days. I knew I had to stay and take care of him. If I didn't...he would go crazy. If I did...he would go crazy...but I would be the only victim.
"STOP!" Sherlock's nimble, pale fingers are threaded through his hair. He's pulling hard, almost tugging out the beautiful locks.
"Sherlock, love. Please calm down." I carefully touch his shoulder. His refelxes are quicker than I remembered, and his fingers wrap tightly around my wrist.
Set me free. Leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity. Here I am, and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be. But you're on to me...and all over me.
I stand in front of the bathroom mirror, tracing my fingers over the bruise on the bottom of my jaw. The bruise on my collarbone. The bruise on my left hip. The bruise on my chest...right where my heart lies.
"Jooohhhnnn!" Sherlock bangs on the door, giggling loudly. Thank God he wasn't having a moment.
"Give me a minute, love." I pull on my dressing gown and open the door. The consulting detective's cheeks are blushed a healthy pink. His eyes are bright blue, resembling the sky. His hair is tangled, but I can tell he made an effort to comb it.
"I have a surprise for you John!"
"Sherlock, before we do that...can I talk to you?"
"About what?"
"About the past couple months...never mind. What would you like to show me?" Another chance had failed.
Oh, you loved cos I'm fragile when I thought that I was strong. But you touch me for a little while...and all my fragile strength is gone.
Sherlock pushes me against the wall forcefully. I can feel my whole body tremble with dread...no...anticipation.
"John, John, John, John, John," he whispers, planting open-mouthed kisses on my nose, my eyelids, my cheeks, my jaw, my neck, my lips. When he steps back, breathing slowly, I'm a broken mess.
"Sherlock." I pull his face down to mine, pushing my lips to his. It's rushed; it's filled with heat and lust and want and pure need.
"You're going to be mine, tonight, John." Sherlock caresses my earlobe with his lips, making his words hot on my neck. The feeling sends shudders down my spine, and a surge of power courses through me. I grab the back of his head, the strands of that crazy hair, and pull him into another kiss. I move us both backwards, careful not to collide with any plants or walls. Hands travel all over--to shirt buttons, to belt buckles, to skin, to the border of boxers.
I had been gone when he pushed me against the wall.
Set me free. Leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity. Here I am, and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be. But you're on to me...and all over me.
Sherlock's hands find my chest, and he shoves me backwards into the floor. I stumble, trying to catch my balance, but I end up on the carpet, trying to move quickly away from him. But he's younger and faster. Not stronger. But I never hurt him like he hurts me.
"FREAK! FREAK, FREAK, FREAK!" A chorus of the word fills my ears as Sherlock screams it over and over again. It's aimed at me. Straight for me. Straight for my already broken heart.
"Sherlock." My voice trembles. It's a sign of weakness...or so he thinks.
"FREAK!" He yells again, shoving my shoulders back into the couch. I clench my eyes shut, bracing myself for that thrown punch that is sure to come.
I live here on my knees as I try to make you see that you're everything I think I need here on the ground. But you're neither friend nor foe. Though I can't seem to let you go. The one thing that I still know is that you're keeping me down.
Dear Sherlock,
I can still remember our first case. I can still remember saving you. I can still remember murdering that man for you. I just wish you could remember that, too. I know your mind has been ravaged by drugs...and now alcohol. I also know that you love me. And I need you to know that I love you. I love you so much, Sherlock. That's why I'm leaving. It's for your own good. It's for my own good. I can't stand at the mirror anymore and count the bruises you made on my skin. A love is not supposed to be that way. It makes me sad--and angry--to see you so broken. I just knew that clever, beautiful detective. And you are still clever. And still beautiful. So, so beautiful. Remember that, at least. Please. I can't fall another moment into your gravity, Sherlock. So I'm setting myself free from you. Because I am always falling into your love. And your love has two different meanings. I might come visit. I might not. The latter is more probable...you and I both know that. I can't say good-bye to your beautiful face...so I'm saying good-bye like this. Good-bye, Sherlock Holmes.
I love you.
John Watson
~~I hope you liked it...and I hope it wasn't too angsty :)))))) It's something I'm trying out, and I really enjoy it so far. NEXT! Comment, vote, fangirl. I love each and every one of them. Oh! The first sonfic was "The Only Exception" by Paramore. The second was "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles. I also love to hear any ideas for oneshots you might have. Whether it's a song or just a plot-line, let me known, lovelies! Thanks for reading!! <3~~
