~15~

At the end of the day, while I'm going down in the elevator, with surprisingly, no one else, I feel like I could just relax. I don't have to stand like one of those extremely important business men, with my hands in front of me and my weight balanced on my both feet. I hate that. I usually stand with all my weight on one foot and the other is just there. My hands are either in my pocket or on my hip. I feel so comfortable and relaxed. Today was such a good day.

The elevator doors opened and I immediately took back that thought. I quickly fix my stance and began to look down. I don't really want to see him anymore. I really would have liked for him to be my friend in this place, but I really don't want to risk my relationship with Aidan. It just started to get good. I bite my bottom lip and glanced across at him. Why couldn't he have taken the other elevator?

I really hope he doesn't speak to me. Last time we were together he was upset with me, hopefully he still is. Although I highly doubt he holds grudges, which makes me certain he'll try to talk to me. Once again, I looked across at him as he stared up at the numbers going down. Shane tapped his foot and bit his lip. I sigh softly before asking, "Are you nervous?"

He looked at me, "No... uh I'm fine."

"Do you hate me?" I hate myself for even starting this conversation, but I just couldn't help myself. I needed to know.

"No," he sighed, "I don't hate you." I blinked down and smiled. As much as I hate this and hate to say this, I'm happy he doesn't hate me. I know that I have Aidan, but there is a part of me that sort of wants Shane to like me. I don't know why, it's annoying that I want him to like me. I have a bunch of feelings for Shane and I can barely decipher them. I just wish they weren't there.

"Oh..." I mumble. I stared up at the numbers, mentally telling myself to remain silent until I'm in my car away, from Shane.

"Do you hate me?" he asked and turned to look at me. I bite my bottom lip and slowly removed it, "Uhm no..." I awkwardly answer. Shane nodded but he didn't seem to believe me. I can't tell him how I really, really feel. I can't tell anyone that. I just need to ignore it until it goes away.

"I have a boyfriend, okay," I blurt, "And I really shouldn't be talking to you."

"But you started the conversation..." Shane correctly stated. I groaned then stayed silent afterwards. I bite my bottom lip and looked downwards. He began speaking again, "Look, I'm sorry, okay. I don't want things to be awkward between us. I like you... as a friend."

"Yeah, but-" I immediately stopped speaking when the elevator stopped and the doors opened. A petite, brunette girl stepped into the elevator, smiling at us both. When she faced front, I glanced over at Shane, who was no longer looking at me. I sigh softly, wanting this ride to move faster. The girl looked at me and smiled again then back to the front.

Thankfully, to help me escape from that awkward situation, my phone began to ring. An automatic smile appeared on my face when I noticed it was Aidan calling me.

"Hey, babe," he greeted.

"Uh hi," I smile.

"You should come over," he says.

"No," I shake my head, "No. I have work tomorrow..." I blink at the girl then Shane and I began to feel awkward again. I want this elevator to just reach the first floor so I can get out and talk to my boyfriend in peace. Wow, it comes out so effortlessly. Aidan is my boyfriend... I have a boyfriend.

"You can leave early. I just want to see you," he pleaded, like a child. I laugh softly and shake my head. How can I deny him? Sometimes it feels impossible. I bite my bottom lip and glanced up at the numbers. We were finally on the second floor getting to the first.

"Fine," I tell him, "I'll come over, but I'm not staying the night – no matter how much you try to persuade me."

Aidan laughed, "We'll see."

"Goodbye," I rolled my eyes and hung up the phone, just as the elevator doors opened for us to exit. That seemed like the longest elevator ride I've ever taken. I quickly walk out of the elevator then to leave the building. I am done with work today; I just want to relax a little. Aidan helps me relax.

I took the largest steps out of that building to my car. I don't want to be here and I really want to be there – with Aidan. I quickly enter my car, with the widest grin on my face as I left to get to Aidan's place. It hasn't been a long time, but after driving to and from that place constantly, I begin to remember my way there. I feel like I've been doing this for years.

I even remember his room number... or should I say penthouse floor. Again, I was in an elevator shaft, but this time, I was excited and nothing felt weird or awkward. The other two people with me had happiness and acceptance radiating off of them. They smiled at me and I did the same. I could definitely get used to this. I wave a small goodbye to them after I left the elevator. I began to walk to his front door, trying my hardest not to smile as much.

Aidan just makes me so happy. I don't know what it is about him, but he makes me happy. We obviously argue and I say things like I hate him, but that honestly means nothing. I love being with him; he makes me feel special and loved. I haven't felt that in a while – not even with my family members. I'm so glad to have him.

"You're here," he greeted as he opened the door to me. He pulled me inside and closed the door before pecking my lips softly. "What, you think I wouldn't show?" I raise my eyebrows, "That's you, remember?"

"You'll never let that go, will you?" he sighed softly. I smirk and shake my head, no. Aidan rolled his eyes and took my hand to lead me to the sofa. I immediately got comfortable, by kicking off my shoes and sitting with my legs on the sofa. Aidan smiled at me and bit his bottom lip. Gosh, I wish I knew what he was thinking...

"So, what do you do all day?" I ask him. I faced him on the sofa, with my back against the arm, while he sat square. He pulled my legs so they rest on top of his.

"I do what the fuck I want."

"Which is?" I press, with one eyebrow raised, "I mean, I know you don't work... so what do you do?"

"I have fun, Josh. I go to the gym sometimes. I can literally do what the fuck I want," he says to me, as if trying to pound it into my head. I nodded, "You definitely have the life."

"You'd think so..." he mumbled. As much as I wanted to question him on that, I also wanted to question him on something else. Something that has been buzzing around my mind for a good while now. I smile and look down before asking, "And what do you do in your father's office?"

"Masturbate," he answered in a serious tone, but I instantly began laughing. He's obviously just kidding... right?

"You're joking, right?" I try to clear up, but he seemed serious. He pulled my legs, so he was right between them and we grew closer. "What else am I supposed to do when your right outside there looking as sexy as fuck?"

I slowly pulled my bottom lip between my teeth and blinked downwards. Aidan kissed my cheek and I stared into his eyes. Next, he pressed his lips onto mine, indulging me in a slow, sexy kiss. I love that he wasn't just shoving his tongue down my throat, it took time, and the process was lovely. My hands traced his muscular arm, while his held onto my neck, slowly moving to my hair. I opened my mouth and turned my head to deepen the kiss. My need to touch his bare body overcame me as my thirsty fingers went under his plain, black top.

Unfortunately, my favorite kiss so far, was interrupted by a knocking at the door. Then a male's voice shouting Aidan's name and for him to open the door. He immediately pulled away from me and I was certain he cursed softly.

"Who's that?" I raise an eyebrow at him. Another voice called for Aidan. I remove my legs from on him and I sit straight on the sofa. He bit his lip then glanced at me, "Uh they're just friends, okay."

"Seriously?" I fold my arms across my chest. Aidan stood up from his seat and walked to the door. As he did so, he said to me, "Just act cool okay?"

"What?" I furrow my eyebrows; feeling annoyed as hell. Two guys entered the penthouse, bro-hugging Aidan as a form of greeting. I sat there, taking in the two of them. Both of his friends had dark hair and dark eyes. I stared at them as they completely ignored my presence – that or they are just oblivious to everything. Aidan glanced at me then back to his friends, "Uh guys, this is Josh."

"What's up, man. I'm Logan," he says stepping to me and putting out his hand to shake. I nod my head and shake his hand, "Josh." The other continued with Aidan, and I couldn't stop glancing over at them. I bite my bottom lip softly and tried to look away. As much as I want to stay and know what will happen between them, I also don't want to just be sitting here with absolutely no one. Aidan isn't even acknowledging my presences – although he practically begged me to come here.

"Uh, I should go..." I stand up and tell Aidan. He looked to his friends, the opened his mouth to say something, but Logan interrupted him. Logan said, "You can stay, bro. We just came to tell him something."

I furrowed my brows, wondering what it was they came to tell him. I know for sure Aidan won't tell me anything. "Okay..."

"Let's go, Logan," the other friend said, taking the lead to walk towards the door.

"See you around," Logan says to me. I nod my head once and bit my bottom lip, like I usually do. Aidan walked them out, then came back in some seconds later. I took my seat once again on the couch, staring at him as he walked to me.

"What is it?" he asked me, with a sigh.

"You're fed up of me?" I raise an eyebrow.

"I'm fed up of this," he motioned between us, "The constant arguing. If you have something to say, just tell me."

I fold my arms across my chest and blink away from him. Aidan sighed softly and began to walk away. I immediately look back at him as he went into his kitchen. I didn't even need to see to know he was getting alcohol. I sucked my teeth and rolled my eyes.

"Don't get upset with me if you know you're just going to sit there and not say anything at all," he says. When I turn around, I saw him with elbows leaned on the counter, facing me. Just as I guessed, he was drinking alcohol.

"Stop drinking," I start.

"Fine," he actually listened, then put the bottle down on the counter top. "What now?"

"Are they like your little sex buddies?" I ask, with all the confidence I have in my body. Aidan scoffed and rolled his eyes, "First of all, they're both straight, and secondly, they're just.... business partners."

"Wow, 'business partners', right?"

"You're arguing for nothing, Josh," he picked up the bottle again, "You don't see me arguing over your 'business partners'."

"That's different.... and there is nothing going on between us," I say to him. He nodded and walked to me, "Of course not."

I took in a short breath and bit my bottom lip. I don't want to say anything anymore. I don't know what I feel for Shane and I don't know why. But I do know that I don't want it to be there. I know if I continue speaking I'll spill everything and it will end horribly for me. So, I hush. Aidan stared at me, taking a sip of his drink ever so often.

I sigh, "I'm sorry."

"Yeah," he nods. I step towards him, wrapping my arms around his waist. "I'm sorry," I say once again. Aidan doesn't say anything and I look up at him. I don't want to fight. I came here to spend time with him, not argue.

"You accused me of cheating," he reminds me.

"I'm sorry," I say for the third time.

"Stop apologizing, Josh," he sighed. Aidan moved passed me and went to the sofa. I groaned softly, hating that he's upset right now. I turn around to face him, then called his name. just as expected, he ignored me. I crouch down in front of him, resting my elbows on his knees. I knelt down and ran my tongue along my bottom lip slowly. "Well can I at least show you how sorry I am?"

He blinked at me, "Josh-"

"Can you just let me do this?" I raise an eyebrow. He stared at me intently. His hand cupped my cheek and he softly placed a kiss on my lip. "You're not doing that."

"Why not?"

"Because you're new to all this," he sighs, "I need to be sure you're ready and don't want to just make me feel better."

"It doesn't matter," I roll my eyes and lean in to kiss him, making sure my tongue goes into his mouth the very second our lips come in contact with each other. I pull away, "I'm so sorry."

"Stop saying that," he says. I know he doesn't have the slightest clue as to why I'm apologizing and I feel so horrible about that. I feel so confused.

"I'm sorry," I mumble again, with my voice sounding a bit softer. I bit my bottom lip, trying not to even let out one tear. I don't even know what I'm doing. I wish I didn't have these feelings for Shane. I wish he wasn't so nice, and good looking, and working the same place I work. I wish I could just be happy with Aidan. I should do that. I should just acknowledge Aidan. He's my boyfriend and I should only be thinking about him... so then why is Shane still on my mind?

"Babe, are you crying?" Aidan asked and gently pulling me up.

"No..." I answer.

"What's wrong? I'm not really angry with you."

"I know, I just... I..." I stopped myself by biting my lip. There is no way I am going to tell him how I feel right now. "What is it, Josh? Please just tell me." Aidan passed his thumb under my eyes, taking away my stranded tear. I shake my head at him, "It's... It's nothing..."

He glared at me, and I could tell he knew I was lying. But thankfully, he probably just tried to ignore it. He leaned in and kissed my forehead. I wrap my arms around his neck, moving my hands up and down behind his neck, as I leaned in closer to connect our lips. I tried to just focus on my boyfriend only right now. I'll think about Shane tomorrow when I try to figure things out. Right now, I should only be focusing on this sexy beast I have the privilege of calling my boyfriend.
