4: Father

I remember how you used to tell my brothers never to underestimate an enemy. I only ever heard it when I listened through a door, kneeling outside as if I had dropped my fan. But sometimes, if your enemy really is an idiot, then we ought to take advantage.

While I'll admit that it made sense at the time to force Liliana (one of my servants, the peasant girl who attacked the tax collector a few years ago) into my service, since you had her father as prisoner, it doesn't quite make sense why my enemies have done the same thing. They have no leverage over me, and I'm fairly sure that their pride drive them in this direction.

Fools, just like you. I can say it now, without you backhanding me. You're a fool for underestimating me, Father. All of you were.

And now, you're regretting it, if you can feel such a thing. I told you once that I would give you a knife in the back. Is this it, you wonder?
