Chapter 9
*I forgot how this episode went so I'm winging it and you're 21 now!*
Three years later...
I stood at the docks, waiting impatiently with Liochant. Today was the day Garroth, Aphmau, Lilith, and little Alina came back from their trip. I moved nervously, shifting my weight from one foot to another. "Lady (Y/N), calm yourself."
"I can't Lio... I just... what if one of them is hurt!? I know Lady Aphmau can't heal anymore!" I was practically pulling my hair out. Liochant laughed.
"Maybe you should have just gone with them."
"That's not how fate was supposed to work." I replied. He nodded.
"Sorry, for suggesting it."
"No, no, it's fine. My words become more confusing as my power grows." I sighed.
"That would make sense." He nodded. "Is that why you have so many war wounds?"
"Yes." I nodded. "My visions like to appear mid-battle. Half the time I just try to get back up though." I shrugged.
"Well, you got through guard training in record time."
"Two days it's pretty quick," I nodded, "oh, I see the boat!"
"Getting excited now are we?" He joked. I rolled my eyes.
"As if-"
"C'mon, I know you miss him."
"Pfft, whatever," I rolled my eyes. "I mean it's not as bad as Fallen."
"Right... is she still at the capital?"
"Yes, she's working on renovations I believe." I replied, not taking my eyes off the boat as it drew closer. Soon enough it was within arms reach, and Leona and KiKi had come to see Aphmau and the girls. They docked, and I helped pull out the bridge and immediately Lilith and Alina came running down the docks with Aphmau chasing them.
Garroth was trailing behind, and I ran towards him. "Garroth!"
"Hey (Y-" I jumped into his arms, and he kissed me. I pulled away.
"Later, after the party I have a surprise for you." I smiled.
"What party?"
"For the girl's birthday," I whispered.
"Oh! That'll be fun!" He smiled.
"Yeah!" We started to walk down the dock, and when we passed Liochant, Garroth tensed up a bit. I put my hand on his arm. "He really isn't bad."
"I know he just... puts me on guard."
"I understand where you're coming from. You guys have been going on trips more frequently and-" I tripped and grabbed the side of my head as my vision went blurry.
"(Y/N)!" Garroth yelled, kneeling down next to me. I grunted.
"Something's wrong... Garroth something's wrong!" I yelled. "E-Emmelyn... uh... I have a feeling." I looked at him. I managed to get to my feet. "I have to go see if she's okay!"
"Okay... just... be careful."
"I'll see you at the party!" I waved, and staggered off. I ran to Emmelyn and Kenmur's house, and knocked frantically. Kenmur opened the door.
"Oh, hello (Y/N)! Can I help you?"
"Is Emmelyn here!?" I asked quickly.
"She's reading right now. Why?"
"I just... I'm getting one of those feelings..."
"Like a bad omen?"
"Yeah... I don't know why though, usually they happen right after... she's okay right?"
"One hundred percent breathing." He nodded.
"Okay... just... just make sure she's okay. I'll come check back up as frequently as I can."
"Okay," he nodded. "I'll let you know if something happens."
"Thank you," I sighed in relief.
"Now, go do whatever it is you should be doing, we'll see you at the party."
"Okay," I nodded and ran off. The party was in about twenty minutes so I ran home to find Garroth cleaning up his sword. "Hi!" I smiled and closed the door.
"Well, hello there," he grinned and set his sword down, and pulled me into his lap and he kissed me gently. I kissed back and almost immediately pulled back as my head buzzed with pain. "Is something wrong?"
"I can't stop feeling like... Zane," I managed to get the name to spill from my lips. Garroth's grip on me tightened at the mention of his brother's name.
"(Y/N), what about Zane?"
"I'm not sure... I just I feel like his name is being drawn to me... and it just..." I stopped, and felt a stabbing pain in my chest. "My Irene," I grumbled. Garroth moved his hands to my shoulder.
"What are you seeing?"
"Shadow Knights... I see Shadow Knights, and... a man... I don't know who he is though," I explained my visions. "I swear I had this vision almost three years ago when everything was hectic with you mother." I sighed.
"Do you see anything else?"
"No. It's all gone now," I opened my eyes and stood up and punched the wall angrily. "Dammit!"
"(Y/N), calm down, you're still learning like the rest of us. We just need to do our best to stay in control."
"No you don't understand... I had it, it was... there was another man, but I couldn't see his face very well... I almost had him. I seriously almost knew what was happening!" I growled.
"It's okay. For now let's just try to remain calm."
"I just... okay," I nodded.
"The party's about to start so why don't we head over?"
"Okay," I nodded, and grabbed my new sword that I had just recently made.
"You're bringing your sword?"
"Yes, I'll meet you there, I have to change!" I ran upstairs and slipped on some light armour over my regular clothes, and hooked my sword to my side and ran to the party.
On the way there I found Dante. "Hey, Dante!" I smiled.
"(Y/N)!" He smiled. "Anything going on?" He poked my stomach lightly. I laughed, and swatted his hand away.
"Stop! Garroth doesn't know yet!" I smiled.
"So, what's up?"
"Well, I had another vision earlier, could you keep a close watch for shady characters, I have a bad feeling that somethings going to happen to Emmelyn."
"Of course. You're feelings are usually right." He nodded.
"Thanks! I got to go find Garroth!" I started to run, but stopped and pushed my hand against a tree and my vision went black.
The nether portal was still open, but something was off. I felt like... there was a Shadow Knight standing at the edge of the portal. Then he took down all the guards-
"(Y/N)!" I felt someone shake my shoulder and I slapped my eyes open. I saw Donna standing in front of me.
"Donna?"
"C'mon sweet child, I'll walk you to the party."
"Thank you," I nodded. We made our way to the party, and she stood at the front. I headed in to the barn and found Garroth quickly.
"Hey what took you so long?" He smiled.
"I... I got side tracked." He nodded.
"Okay... what happened?"
"I ran into Dante, and then I... I saw something again. I didn't see the whole thing because Donna snapped me out of it."
"I see, what do you remember?"
"Zane... I swear it's him."
"I really hope not." Garroth sighed. I squeezed his hand.
"If it is him, then we'll handle this together."
"Yeah, we always do... by the way what was it you wanted to tell me?"
"Garroth I'm-"
"Aunt (Y/N)!" Levin yelled, and him and Malachi ran over to me, and embraced me in a hug.
"Hey boys!" I laughed, hugging back.
"What's going on Aunt (Y/N)?" Malachi asked.
"Nothing much!" I smiled. "What are you two doing here?"
"We're here to see our baby sisters on their birthday!" Levin smiled.
"Well, why don't you go say hi to your mother now," I suggested. They nodded and ran off. I turned to Garroth who was holding back a laugh. "What?"
"Those two think you're the greatest thing ever."
"Well, who can blame them?" I smiled. Garroth rolled his eyes.
"Anyways, what was it you were saying?"
"Well I'm-"
"Lady (Y/N)!" I heard Liochant call my name I turned, and immediately knew something was wrong.
"Garroth, get Aphmau, and meet Liochant and I at the docks!" I snapped. "Lio I'm coming!" I yelled. I caught up to him, and we ran down to the docks. I saw Katelyn on the boat, and a man in a cell.
I charged up to the cell and pulled the bars open enough for me to slide in, and forced him to his feet. "Look I know who you are, and I know what you've done-"
"Save the talk spark plug-" I punched him in the face.
"I know everything you're going to do right before you so it," I sneered, lying slightly. I stepped out of the cell and fixed the bars, and walked up to Katelyn. "Can I see the object you found on him?"
"Be careful, he seems jumpy about it."
"For reasons you wouldn't understand." I grumbled as she handed it to me. I examined it carefully.
"Katelyn!" Aphmau yelled running up to us. I turned to Garroth and saw him staring past me, at Zane. He looked shocked, and I suddenly felt awful.
"Are we moving him to the jail cells?" I asked Aphmau. She nodded grimly. "Here," I handed her the object and she took it carefully.
"Here (Y/N) let me open that-" Katelyn started. I tore open the bars, and grabbed Zane by the ear like a mother, and started to drag him to the jail cells. Garroth ran up next to me and walked along next to me quietly.
I tossed Zane into the cell, and locked the door. I looked up at Garroth. "Now what?"
"We question him," Aphmau stated.
