Chapter 10
"Let me try to talk to him. I am his brother after all." Garroth urged.
"I'm going to stay with you," I clenched my fists.
"Okay," he nodded. We walked up to the cell to find Zane pacing. I felt very uneasy around him. Garroth opened my mouth to say something, but I grabbed his arm, and pulled him back. "(Y/N), what's wrong?"
"Garroth... I... maybe I should talk to him." I bit my lip.
"Why?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows
"...Well... I don't want you to get hurt-"
"He's in a cell-"
"I meant emotionally." I managed to spit out.
"...What could he say-"
"Garroth... trust me, I don't want to see you upset. You trust me on everything else, just trust me on this, I can see the future, I know what he's going to say, and I know how it's going to effect you. Let me try."
"Okay." I turned to face Zane, but Garroth grabbed my arm.
"What?" I asked.
"What was that thing you were going to tell me?"
"Uh... it's nothing, it can wait," I shrugged it off.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah." I nodded. He let go of my arm, and I walked up to Zane. "Why are you here?"
His head snapped up, and laughed. "Lady Lezina's daughter I presume."
"You don't get to speak to me in that tone!" I snapped. He sauntered toward me, and pressed his face up against the bars.
"You know, you're on the wrong side."
After he said that something clicked, and I stepped closer.
"I see where you're coming from."
What!? What am I saying!?
"You should be working with Shad." He said, lowering his tone.
"I'm trying to get out of here."
What!? No I'm not! Stop!
"Then you should let me out," he grinned.
"Of course," I nodded.
Grah! Why can't I control my actions!? Stop moving! Don't open the cell! Stop it!
I reached the door, and my hand lifted shaking as I tried to force it back down. I cried out in pain as my mind and relic conflicted. I felt two arms wrap around my waist, and pull me out of Zane's view.
I collapsed onto the floor breathing heavily, sweat dripped from my face. "(Y/N) what happened?" Katelyn asked kneeling next to me.
"I don't know," I shook my head, trying to hold back tears. "I just, he was talking, and I was... I was going to let him out! I don't, I just, I couldn't control myself."
"What do you mean?" Aphmau asked kneeling down next to me.
"I don't know, it's like my relic was trying to tell me something by taking control, I... it was like telling me I should be on Shad's side-"
"Shad!" Garroth yelled.
"He's back." I looked at Aphmau. "But not in the way I saw."
"What does that mean?" Katelyn asked.
"It'd be easier to see... but Aphmau I can't talk to him or it might happen again, and Garroth can't either, you know what you need to do, use the object." She nodded and stood up walking over to Zane.
Garroth knelt down next to me, and moved some of my hair. "Are you okay?"
"Conflicted," I breathed. He nodded, and kissed my forehead. He helped me to my feet and he looked down to me.
"Are you... getting wider?" He asked.
"N-No!" I blushed, hitting his shoulder.
"Sorry," he smiled a little. "So, what were you going to tell me?"
"Well-"
"Guys! He's going to help us find Laurance!" Aphmau gasped a little exasperated.
"I can't come-"
"You have to come!" Garroth snapped.
"What if... I lose it again like I just did?"
"We can just, cover his mouth," Katelyn suggested. "I don't think I want to hear his voice anyway."
"Okay," I nodded. I pulled a strip of cloth from my pocket, and handed it to Katelyn, along with the keys to the cell.
A minute later Katelyn came around the side of the wall with Zane's hands tied behind his back, and his mouth covered with the cloth.
"I still don't know if I feel comfortable coming."
"Get packed, (Y/N)," Aphmau ordered.
"I'm packed," I mumbled.
We made our way to the boat, and Leona ran up to us with the girls. I walked to Katelyn. "I can take him, you should talk to the girls, they've missed you."
"Are you sure you'll be okay?"
"I'll manage." I grabbed Zane by the hair, and dragged him over to his cell and locked him in the cell and turned around.
"Come back here, and let me out!" He snapped. My body turned and walked back to the cell, and placed my hands on the side of the bars.
Stop it!
I started to push them out, and I tried to make myself stop and my arms started shaking. "Let. Me. Out." He growled.
"I'm trying," I growled.
No I'm not!
My arms clicked and pushed the bars out and fell backwards, clutching my arm tightly with my hand. Garroth ran over and pulled me to my feet. "(Y/N), fix the bars. Please."
"Garroth if I go back to him then he's just going to-"
"I'll cover your ears." I nodded and he covered my ears and I walked to the bars and squeezed them closed so they were the same as they were before I opened them. Garroth pulled me away to the port of the boat, and I leaned over the edge of the boat. "Are you okay?"
"I... I feel very conflicted," I sighed planting my hands on the edge to keep myself steady. "Can I just... can I be alone for a minute?"
"Of course." He nodded and walked off. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to face Liochant. "Hey Lio."
"Lady (Y/N)! Is something the matter?"
"No... I'm just having some control issues." I saw Garroth glaring at Lio.
"Oh, I see, well if I can do anything Lady (Y/N)-"
"Lio, please stop calling me Lady (Y/N), it's just (Y/N)."
"My apologies."
"It's fi-" the boat lurched to a start, and I grunted and grabbed my stomach.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Lio, I have to tell you something, but you can't tell... anyone," I shook my head.
"I understand."
"I'm pregnant."
"Oh my Irene-"
"Don't make a scene."
"Sorry. Well... I must tend to the girls."
"Okay, I'll be here if you need me," I said sitting down and Lio ran off. I leaned my head against the side of the boat. A wave of nausea came over me, and I quickly stood up and leaned over the side of the boat, and emptied my stomach.
I fell to my knees and leaned my head against the side. I felt a hand on my back and I turned to see Garroth. "Hey are you okay?" He asked, kissing my cheek.
"I feel kinda sick," I mumbled.
"Why?"
"Motion, it's killing me right now." I mumbled, shaking my head.
"Well, that's never bothered you before, has it?"
"No. I just... maybe it has to do with my relic?" I asked nervously even though I knew the real reason. "I think I'm just going to lay down for a bit," I said standing up and I started walking to the lower deck.
Later I felt someone shake me awake. I opened my eyes and looked at Garroth. "We're in Brightport."
"Okay, give me a second," I groaned, sitting up. I placed my hand over my stomach, and Garroth put his hand over mine.
"Are you sure there's nothing wrong?"
"I'm sure," I nodded. We got off the boat and Katelyn lead us to the guard station, or whatever it was called.
We walked up to the nether portal, Aphmau, Katelyn, Zane, Garroth, and I. Garroth stopped me when we entered the court yard. "Are you sure about going?"
"I... I guess." I nodded. "I need to see my brother, it's been three years."
"Well, Zane's going to show us the way-"
"Restrained at all times, no speaking aloud," I pointed at Garroth. He nodded.
"Of course, we can't have you trying to stab one of us," he smiled. I stared at him, pointedly.
"Garroth, that's not funny." I shook my head and walked past him and up next to Katelyn.
"Are you sure about this?" Katelyn asked. I nodded and grabbed Zane's hair.
"Hello jerk," I smiled and pulled his head back. "If you so much as try to trick me again I swear to Irene I will slit your throat." I growled.
"Mph!" He groaned. I let go of his hair.
"Now, lead us to my brother or I will be forced to kill you, and we can find him ourselves!"
He sighed and walked through the portal, and I followed with Aphmau, Katelyn, and Garroth right behind me.
