*Riddhi Pov*

"What took you so long?" I heard the words and stopped in my tracks near the door only to look at Mom standing near the kitchen door.

I slowly glanced at the clock to see that it is past five and I have been out for more than six hours.

How did I acted so foolish and didn't realize that Mom will ask questions if I was late? I should have kept the time in my head and returned early.

"I am asking you something, Riddhi." She said in a stern voice and I frowned at her because this is so not her.

Did she find out about Shiv? This sudden thought entered my mind and crashed everything along with the forming of explanations in my head.

"I... I was... It is..." I just couldn't get something out as I was unable to choose one from the explanations.

I am so bad at this and that was why we both never stayed for long time near our place except an hour or even less.

"Stop teasing her." I heard a voice and even laughing after which even my Mom laughed.

"Dad?" I mumbled frowning as there is still one hour left for him to return and I was feeling little relief that Mom is the one asking me about my whereabouts.

"So, are you going to tell us or not?" he asked walking outside from their room door where he was standing until now but I didn't saw him.

"About what?" I asked him frowning as it seems my brain just got freezed still thinking what excuse I should give them.

"You didn't get selected?" he asked in a sad tone.

"What? For what?" I asked shaking my head hoping to understand the words from them.

"For university, Riddhi. What happened?" Mom asked moving towards me.

"Oh! I got selected." I mumbled forwarding the paper.

"But how did you guys know about it?" I asked when they started reading the letter.

"You just left the cover of the post on the floor while leaving and I immediately called your dad so that he can be here along with me for you no matter what is the result." Mom explained and I smiled before hugging them both.

"So, where were you?" Mom asked when I stepped back.

"Maybe she was outside to finally release the breath. She worked really hard and was very tense everyday right. Isn't it the reason?" Dad asked and I immediately nodded because it is true in a way.

"Let's celebrate and then discuss about the packing and everything. There is not much time left." He said and I nodded smiling.

At times I just feel guilty for hiding about him near them but I know no matter how is the love between two people it is always wrong here. Perks of being in a small town where most of the people knows most people.

And they definitely know my dad as he is a government employee in a pension office. As there is mostly old-age people present at each house, he is known easily and talked with too.

He is a great dad and loves me so much but is even strict which just makes me think again and again how to tell him about Shiv.

Mom will just get angry for sure though and will go with my dad's reaction mostly. I sighed thinking why everything can't be easy like the way I got my true love.

*Shiv Pov*

"I can't believe some people at all. They don't know how to respect someone in high position." My Dad started shouting as usual whenever something doesn't happen as per his wish.

"You can't shout like that while having lunch." Mom mumbled and he immediately sighed.

"So, I already deposited the money for the place you selected and even gave as much money you asked for plane tickets and for other things. When will you be leaving?" he asked staring at me.

You didn't congratulate me when I got the seat and that too with scholarship but now asking the details about my journey.

I wanted to shout but kept calm knowing well today is the day we both tell our parents regarding our relation.

"It depends!" I mumbled knowing well there may not be a positive acceptance but Riddhi thinks there will be as our parents love us.

"Depends on what? Your mood?" he asked and I controlled my temper because there is other important matter to present.

"I am going to share the place with someone else and that person is even going to ravel with me from here." I said looking at his confused look.

"Ok! But which friend of yours got selected? Is he from the same town?" Mom asked staring at me.

"Yes and it's a she." I replied and their eyes literally widened but my Dad's immediately narrowed.

"Girlfriend?" he asked and I nodded to which he shook his head.

"Who is it?" Mom asked and I turned towards her completely without looking at Dad's face.

"She is Riddhi Gupta and the daughter of Ramesh Gupta." I replied and then heard my Dad coughing.

"The Ramesh Gupta?" he asked and this time I nodded looking straight into his eyes.

I know he had a quarrel with Uncle a few days back and it is really big but I don't know why Riddhi is in dark regarding this matter. I don't know the complete details so I can't tell her but I know the reaction for this relation from that day itself.

"No! Leave her and she is just your girlfriend." Dad said getting up.

"What are you saying?" Mom asked shaking her head at him.

"I can't leave her and I love her so much." I replied getting up.

"From when is all this happening?" Mom asked stopping Dad from shouting.

"Six years!" I replied and if I thought they were shocked before then I don't have any words for now.

"Six years? We don't know about this from the past six years?" Dad shouted with shock and anger mixing in his voice.

"Yes! We were classmates in school but were also in junior college and engineering college." I explained.

"Now I understand. So, she was the reason because of which you didn't want to go to another state and study for junior college or even engineering." Dad stated and I nodded shrugging.

"You studied in the only ones near to this town for her? And here we thought you were just unable to stay away from us because of which we were shocked with your abroad plan." Mom said and I stared at them in shock.

"I really love her, Mom. And she is great girl whom you will love too. She is sweet and innocent and knows how to keep me in track." I said giving a short laugh but they didn't move at all.

"Choose now! If you want to choose her, then leave this house right now." Dad said and I stared at him frowning.

"What? Don't do that and leave her." Mom said looking at me in worry.

"Maybe you guys need some time to get used to the idea." I said not realizing before this would be the result of all this.

"No! Say that you will leave her and stay or else leave. I don't want any relation with that man or his family to be present here. They are not suitable for us in any way and this is my last decision." He said folding his arms with his jaw twitching and I know he will not change it right now for sure.

If he is this stubborn and I don't know how is her father reacting who scares me even when I saw him on my way too.

"I can't decide between you both because she too became my life and ours is not something silly to leave just like that." I said to which he just shook his head.

"You know that you can't live with my support right? If you want that then leave her otherwise leave and I will not change it." He said and I don't even know what to say.

I tried to make him understand and he became more stubborn for another half an hour making me feel anger too along with hurt with his words.

"Don't make me throw you out by myself." He warned and that was last straw making me rush to my room.

I packed everything as fast as I can and all the money I have along with the documents before reaching the living room.

"I can't stay here with you saying that I am nothing if not your son and that I have not achieved anything. I can understand that you can't accept some change easily and that is why I will wait for your anger to cool. For now I am leaving and I hope you will understand me soon." I said and walked away after hugging Mom.

This was not at all what I thought and I hope it is not this worse in her house too. She can't bear it at all.
