I couldn't unleash my rage on him. He held his hand out. I took it and followed him to the empty football field.

"Beck was looking for you."

I sighed. "I turned off my cell phone."

He nodded, "That's what I figured when Grayson tried to call you."

"What did that cheater want?"

"To ask if you needed help with Jason." I rolled my eyes and sat on the grass. "Did Jason call Grayson a cheat?"

"Of course. He has a picture." I huffed.

Brian smiled. "Grayson's trying to get on your good side. He wouldn't cheat on you with her and if he did, he wouldn't lie about it."

He sighed. "You know I'm sorry...right?"

I nodded, "Of course."

He pulled me to him and kissed the top of my head.

"You're the little sister I never had."

I nodded. "Don't fret. 10 years from now, we'll look back and laugh."

He nodded. "Of course."

The next month of school dragged on. When prom weekend came, I just didn't want to go. I was watching TV with Eddie and Chris. They were sophomores. They had nothing to get ready for. I heard the sound of tuxes being brought into the house. The guys were back. I slid down in my seat a bit; maybe I'd be over looked.

Chris and Eddie didn't even bother to look over at me. In pack ranking, I was lower then them, two lowest in the pack. If I ever married anyone in the pack, I would get promoted, but that's a long shot...and not what I wanted.

When the guys went upstairs. I repositioned myself on the couch so I was comfortable again.... Then two hands hooked me under my armpits and hauled me over the couch to my feet.

"You're going to make everyone late." It was Conner.

"I don't want to gooooo." I whined.

"Grayson bought you a nice dress. He paid for you to get your nails done. He offered for your hair."

I nodded, "I still don't want to go."

Conner carried me up the stairs like a misbehaving child.

"Don't make me scrub you down and dress you up."

I sighed. "Are you going to make me go?"

He nodded, "If you don't go, when you're 30 looking back at your life, you're going to regret not going to your senior prom. In a month you'll be out of high school."

"Fine. I'll get ready."

He let me go at my room. I sighed and reluctantly turned on the water for the shower. An hour later I was sitting on my bathroom counter halfway through with my hair. There was a knock at the door.

"Come in." I said twisting the curling iron into my hair.

Grayson came into the bathroom. He was still in the clothes he wore this morning.

"When are you going to be ready?"

I shrugged, "20-30 mins."

"Alright. Come to my room when you're ready."

I nodded taking the curling iron out of my hair and dousing it in hairspray. After getting all the curls I wanted I pulled it up with a pretty hair clip so I wouldn't have it in my face all night. I'd have that hairspray taste in my mouth for a while. Still in the shorts and spaghetti strap shirt, I went downstairs for something to drink. I needed that taste out of my mouth.

Brian, Mason and Carlos were watching TV when I passed them.

I assume the wolf whistle came from Brian. He liked teasing me. I grabbed a soda from the fridge as my cell phone vibrated in my pocket.

<Becky>

"sup?"

"Are you dressed and pretty yet?"

"Pretty, not dressed."

"Alright. I'm just checking." She paused. "My mom gave me this cute earring and necklace set."

My eyes widened. "Oh no."

"What?"

"I don't have jewelry."

"How do you not have jewelry?"

"None that would go with the dress!" I put the soda can down. "I've gotta go. See you at the prom."

I slipped the phone into my pocket and ran up to my room, frantically looking for jewelry that matches the dress. The guys were dressing, I could hear them pushing each other and teasing.

"You know how to tie a tie right?" Mason asked. He was one of the juniors going with a senior.

I nodded, "Of course. Come here."

I quickly did the tie then went back to my searching.

"What are you looking for?" He asked while adjusting the tie to comfortably fit his neck.

"Jewelry."

"Grayson hasn't given you it yet?"

A shoe connected with the back of Mason's head.

"What?" I asked, unsure if I heard him correctly.

"Ouch." He said rubbing the back of his head. He looked over his shoulder, "What the fuck was that for?"

"She didn't know." Brian hissed.

"Oh shit." Mason said as he walked away.

I smiled. Problem solved. I quickly ran to Grayson's room and knocked on the door. He opened the door and then walked away from it. I pushed it open so I could walk into the room. He was buttoning his sleeves.

"You don't look ready."

"I know. I can't put the dress on yet."

"Why not?"

"Because I'm missing something."

"What's that?" He asked putting his hands in his hair to fix a portion.

"Jewelry."

He stopped what he was doing and looked at me.

"What makes you think I have any?"

I smiled, "I don't know."

His eyes narrowed.

"Mason." He yelled.

Mason slowly turned the corner, still fussing with his tie. I rolled my eyes. He messed it up. I sighed and walked over to him. I loosened it and took it off his neck. I put the tie on me and tied it. The easiest way for me to tie it was on me. While I tied, they yelled. I ignored. Grayson was pissed and Mason didn't care.

"You didn't know?!" Grayson yelled. "What kind of answer is that?!"

"A fucking answer." Mason said as he turned to face me. He crouched down so I could fit it over his head.

"What? Is she your date now?"

I shook my head and tightened the tie around his neck.

"She's fixing my tie."

"Tie your own."

"I don't know how. Last time I had to wear a tie, Mom tied it." The stopped whatever Grayson was going to say quickly.

Mason walked out the door, not fusing with the tie anymore. Grayson didn't look at me.

"Go put your dress on, then come back here."

I rolled my eyes and walked to my room. I had to be careful with this dress or it'd wrinkle.

"Brian!" I hollered.

He came into my room.

"Shut the door. You're helping me into my dress."

He looked around for a second. "Why me?"

"Because you don't care about what I look like in my underwear." I grabbed the dress off the hanger, "And Grayson's throwing a fit."

He rolled his eyes and shut the door, "Fine."

I handed him the dress.

"Be right back."

I needed to put on my underwear.

Once the right stuff was on, I walked out of the closet.

He laughed giving me a once-over, "Big night planned?"

I shook my head, "I'm not having panty lines AND I have to wear a strapless bra." I pointed to my heels, "And I can't get the clasp in this dress."

He smirked. "Better hope Grayson's not listening to your description." He whistled, "Underwear and heels."

I shrugged and grabbed his shoulders. He kept me stable while I climbed into my dress. He also zipped it up.

"You look good."

I smiled, "Thanks."

He nodded and looked at his fancy watch. "I've gotta go pick up my date." He kissed my cheek. "I'll see you at the place." He was smart and bought a clip on tie.

I nodded an agreement and went to fix the part of my hair that wasn't obeying. After another hairspray shower I looked at myself. I was pretty, but not gorgeous. I pursed my lips as I critiqued my looks. I wasn't too fond of what I saw in the mirror. I'm sure I'd never be content with how I look. I sighed and turned off my lights as I walked out of the room. I only had my cell phone on hand...which would go straight into Grayson's jacket pocket.

And I walked into Grayson's room for a second time. He was putting on a belt when I looked at him. There was a square black box. My jewelry. Next to it was an untied tie. I chuckled.

"Need help with your tie?"

He nodded and grabbed it with his back still to me. He tossed it over his shoulder. I had to take a few steps forward to catch it. I tied it and kept it around my neck.
