The whole curing event- as Pix would later refer to it as when writing a short book about it, to help anyone in the future who also had a sculk infection (since the history books had been no help to him- was followed by a series of emotional reunions.

Katherine, for one, didn't let go of Joey and Shelby for about ten minutes and proceeded to follow them around for the rest of the day, and Sausage took every opportunity possible to chatter excitedly to Scott. Nobody had been particularly close to False, but Pix had noticed the blonde haired woman forming a friendship with Gem.

There was a brief, awkward confrontation about the burning of the mangrove forest, but after multiple apologies from Pix, explanations in regards to his impulsive decisions and promises to help regrow the forest, Shelby forgave him (barely).

Sausage, of course, decided to celebrate the curing event with a large festival in Sanctuary where he gave out end rods and curing potions to everyone (just in case, as he said), which was a very enjoyable event but also a very loud one so Pix left after about an hour and Oli left with him.

Speaking of Oli, the bard had been doing much better since the curing event and was practically back to his old self with the occasional guilty glance at Pix's scars.

The pair had been trying to spend as much time together as possible to make up for the lost time during the sculk epidemic (as Pix had dubbed it for his book). They did this in the form of multiple picnics, walks by spawn and 'surprise dates' (as his boyfriend liked to call them) where Oli practically tackled Pix, scaring the life out of him every time without fail, before dragging him out to go do something.

Pix didn't exactly have a problem with surprise dates, so to speak- Oli normally had something fun planned, so they were enjoyable- but he did wish they would be announced in a slightly less terrifying, caused-him-to-break-seven-pencils-in-total-out-of-fear way.

Pix glanced away from the draft for his book as he heard the door creak open. Yep, it's Oli. The brunette knew his boyfriend well enough by now to recognise his oddly frequent footsteps (Oli hopped and skipped a lot while he walked).

He closed his book over and carefully put his pencil down just in case. Three, two, one...

"SURPRISE DATE!" Oli shouted- as if on cue-, wrapping his arms around Pix's neck and pulling him into an awkward hug while Pix was still sat down.

"It wasn't very surprising. I heard you coming."
The archaeologist remarked with a laugh as he got up and hugged the shorter man properly.

"What?! No you didn't!" Oli yelped. "You're a liar." He added with a scowl, but he didn't appear to actually be mad.

"Okay then. Ah. Oli. You scared me. So, so much." Pix amended in a monotonous (slightly sarcastic, even) tone of voice.

This earned him a failed attempt at a kick, the kick being a fail because Pix simply picked Oli up as his boyfriend tried to hit him lamely. "HEY! PUT ME DOWN!" The brunette obeyed, dropping him with a thud. "Jerk."

"You love me really." Pix commented as Oli scrambled to his feet.

"I- well, yes, but that doesn't change the fact that you're a jerk." Oli muttered, grabbing Pix's arm and dragging him out of the room. Oli's complaints continued as they walked down the hallway, but he was still grinning and his eyes were bright.

Finally, all was right with the world again.
