Lockdown Problems(#1.1)

"Mumma" Ishita groaned hearing another call from her kids.

Don't get her wrong, she loves her kids, her family but when you are on your feet 24/7; one is allowed to have some moments.

"Mumma, mera sampoo khatam ho gaya." Pihu latched to her leg. And those big puppy eyes, Ishita smiled softly forgeting her irritation.
(Mumma, my sampoo is finished.)

"Mai saman order kar rahi hu. Kisiko kuch chahiye?" She shouted from hall only.
(I am ordering groceries. Just tell me if you need something.)

"Ishima, my protein sh-"

"No luxury items." Ishita cut her 19 year son and without looking at him, she knew he was pouting.

"Mumma, art and crafts supplies luxury item hai ki nahi?" Ruhi shouted from her room.
(Ishima, are arts and crafts supplies luxury item?)

"Depends, if below 200 then no, if more than 200 then yes." Ishita smiled hearing no other words.

"Ishu, mikxi kharab ho gai." Her mother sat beside her. Ishita sighed.
(Ishu, Mixer is not working.)

Its been 3 year since she was asking her mother to throw that old junk but no of course she chose this exact time.

"Agar uske liye miski aarahi hai tho, mujhe Induction chahiye." Her mother in law declared.
(If she is getting Mixer, I too need a Induction.)

Ishita just nodded her head not wanting to deal with another arguement.

"Bhabhi, mera lotion." Her sister in law smiled sweetly.
(Bhabhi, my lotion.)

"Chasma tho nahi hote hai na online?" Her father in law hinted about his broken glasses.
(You don't get glasses online, do you?)

"Aajkal sab miljata hai online. Aap apna number bolo, Ishu magalegi" Her father reassurred.
(Nowadays, you get everything online. You just tell the number, Ishu will order.)

Shaking her head at them, she entered the kitchen checking the groceries. She couldnot help but groan. She had ordered the groceries for 1 month last week only and its almost over. Mentally making plans to control their eating habits, she picked paper and pen listing the items.

"Firse?" She heard Mihika's voice, without looking up she nodded her head.
(Again?)

"Ab tho loan lena padega, ghar ka kharch nikalneke liye." She joked earning chuckles from her sister.
(I think we will have to take loan to manage these expenses.)

"Akka, sunona!" Ishita turned toward Mihika suprised with her act.
(Akka, listenn!)

Mihika is someone who burts out her thoughts. No head to mouth filter. Ishita raised her eyebrow at the blushing girl.

"Wo app order kardo na, please."
(Please, order that thing too.)

"Kya? Pad?" She asked.
(What? Pad?)

Atleast we have them, she thought. When you have 4 healthy girls you need them a lot. And when she said a lot, she mean it.

"Nahi! Condom." She muttered softly earning a teasing grin in return.
(No! Condoms.)

Smiling at the blusing newly wed, Ishita nodded.

Do we need them, she could not help but think.

Lets add one more, not that it is going to waste; gasping at her own thoughts and muttering how husband has corrupt her.

She was estimating the budget when her mobile beeped with new notification.

"Please don't be another wattsapp group." She prayed meaning every single word but to her suprise it was from mobile banking.

Mihika had transferred 50,000 in her account.

"Mihika" she softly pleaded. When she had said about that loan thing, she was joking. She didn't mean a bit. Ofcourse some expenses had rised during lockdown but some have cut down too.

True she was doing groceries shopping for her parents, Mihika and Mihir for these 3 months but she didnot want the money. She did it for her parents, sister and brother-in-law.

"Raman, I think Mihika mistook me." She muttered feeling his hand on her waist.

"I did not means to say they are burdens or the expense are increasing but . . . ." She tried to explain.

"Ishita, Ishita" he turned her towards him "Its okay. Its okay if she wants to contribute. Its her family too."

"I know but I was doing. And I was doing fine." She tried to make him understand.

"We know you are doing fine. Very well. Over the top. But we are family. If we can share problems and happiness then we can share expenses also." He smiled at her. Peaking her forehead softly, he took her in his arms.

Maybe joint family is not that of a problem in lockdown, Ishita smiled pressing a soft kiss at his clothed chest.

"Ishima, my crafts cost less than 200."

"Ishima, just one packet. I didn't even get pocket money these 3 months."

"Mumma, my dollhouse broke."

Three children entered the kitchen making Ishita groan and Raman chukle.

Condoms are totally in the list, she thought before letting go the warm embrace of her husband.

*****

I know lockdown is over but we are still in that rising phase so everyone take care and follow precautions.

Please try to follow the new normal life.

Stay tuned for more Ishra moments. :)
