Baralai hated meetings! Honestly he hated most of his job as the

Praetor of New Yevon...with a few exceptions. He liked doing good in

Spira and knowing that he wasn't just wasting his life away...except

sometimes he wished he could spend a moment or two outside of work. As

it was he hadn't spoken to his friends in three weeks...hadn't had

time to talk to Paine.

Sitting in his office made him feel a little better...but he couldn't

take his mind of Paine....more so than usual. He kept getting this

nagging feeling that he should try and check up on her. With a sigh he

finally gave in and walked over to the com sphere he'd been given by

that Al Bhed wiz kid from the Gullwings. He would just call to say

hi...he was aloud to check up on his friends right.

When no one answered he frowned....was everything alright? He quickly

dismissed his concern. They were sphere hunters! they were probably

off on some mission...besides he had work to do. He could chat with

his friends later...right now he had to focus on these documents he

had to approve. Paine could wait...couldn't she?

......

Running...why was she running?

Baralai saw Paine on Mt. Gagazet...he called out her name. She didn't

hear him...she just ran away.

He ran after her as fast as he could. Finally he caught up to her when

they were at a dead end....at the edge of a cliff.

She turned around with a smile...she was so beautiful. Her smile

disappeared as she slipped on the snow about to tumble backwards off

the cliff. He reached out to her grabbing her hands.

She looked up at him as she hung off the cliff. She opened her mouth

to speak and said...

"Baralai! Praetor Baralai sir!"

.....

Baralai's eyes snapped open and he was met with the view of his

secretary Amy waving her hand in front of his face. "Spira to

Baralai..."

"I'm awake. what is it?" He asked rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

He didn't remember dozing off...but the nightmare was proof enough

that he had...he certainly hoped Paine would call him back soon.

"High Summoner Yuna is here to see you. she says it's urgent..." Amy

said with a concerned frown.

"Oh okay thanks...tell her I'll be right there."

....

"So why are we telling Baralai?" Tidus asked confusedly as him and

Yuna waited in the temple in Bevelle.

Yuna frowned"Because he is one of her friends and he deserves to know." She said with a frown. Then, She looked around nervously before

leaning closer to him and whispering "And I think they might be in

love."

"Ooh...okay" Tidus nodded then he frowned "This might not go so well then."

Yuna nodded "well we aren't exactly bringing good news...I hope she is okay."

Tidus sighed...Yuna hadn't exactly taken this well either....she was

constantly worried about her friend....and Rikku was frantic...right

now her and brother were searching practically all of Spira for Paine.

Tidus never thought he'd ever say it...but he kind of felt bad for

brother right now...Rikku was probably freaking out on him at this

very moment even...and Tidus had a feeling that she wouldn't be the

only one freaking out once they told Baralai.

A/N Hi everybody! I'm posting this early this morning to make up for the late post last time. Okay so since this is a Paralai fic there will be a lot of Baralai in this story lol...but I tried to even it out with the other characters two. So early on there won't be as much Paralai awesomeness as later on....(I suddenly feel like Poe from Kung Fu Panda ((I love those movies)) ) Anyway I am going to stop talking your ears off.
