Chapter 2

I am still standing here. I can't make myself move. It was like I was struck with a knife and couldn't move, but there wasn't a knife there. Just a bunch of fear.

"Sir, Fury is stalling. This place is about to blow." Barton told Loki.

"Barton?" I asked. Maybe he can snap out of it.

He didn't look at me though. Just Loki. I know how strong Barton is. There is no way Loki could've taken over his mind, could he?

"We've got two minutes before this goes critical." I heard Erik say. Oh no.

"Well, then." Loki said and looked at Barton.

Barton quickly pulled out his gun and shot Fury.

"No!" I yelled.

Loki grabbed me with his free hand and pulled me out.

"Let me go!" I yelled at him.

"No, I need into your mind." He said.

My eyes widened in fear as a slow smile spread across his face. I turned around and watched at Barton picked up the suitcase Nick had been holding. It contained the Tesseract.

"You won't win this." I whispered to myself.

We walked down hallways and stairs before coming to the cars. I saw agent Hill.

"We need these vehicles." Barton told her.

"Who's that?" She said, looking at Loki.

I gave her a look, trying to say 'please help us' before I was pushed into the car.

"Hill! Do you copy?" I heard her radio say. I could tell the voice belonged to Nick.

"Barton has turned!" He said again and Barton quickly grabbed his gun and began to shoot at her. She jumped out of the way, before grabbing her own gun and firing at him.

Erik and Barton quickly jumped into the car and we took off.

Why is this happening? All because someone wanted to argue over the definition of freedom? I heard a car coming for us. Is it her?

I hope she catches up to us. I don't have any weapons and I have no idea what is going to happen in the very near future. What am I going to do?

I heard more gunshots and ducked down, putting my hands over my ears. I know this is what happens with this job. There is always risks, but I really wish I wouldn't have accepted.

I mean, I've helped my Uncle with some things, but it was never like this. I was never exposed to the dangers it came with. My Uncle and mom always made sure of that.

The gunshots continued to ring out before finally coming to a stop.

The night stayed very dark. The only light I saw was coming from Loki's scepter. I couldn't even see the stars or moon, shining above.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

Everyone remained silent.

"Answer me." I demanded.

Loki swung around, putting his hand against my mouth.

"Do not ask questions. Be quiet." He simply said before turning around.

The long night turned into a bright morning. What are we doing? We parked near another building. I stayed in the car with Erik as Loki and Barton got out. I watched as Loki put his scepter against several men's chest and they began to obey him and do as they asked.

Barton escorted me out of the car and we made our way to a hovercraft. I watched as the world below me became smaller. And soon, we were over the ocean.

The first hour of the flight, I tried sleeping but found it no use. I couldn't bring myself to actually close my eyes. I would listen as Loki calmly give orders to the people around us. Nobody would argue. Or talk back. It felt as though I am the only one around here who can think for myself.

As I watched Loki closely, I noticed him sit down. He looked as though he was talking, but not to anyone here. What is he doing? He seemed deep in conversation with someone who wasn't even here. I watched him until he got back up and walked towards the workers.

The next seven hours went by slowly. I looked outside as the hovercraft landed and saw a different language on the papers and signs surrounding us.

We arrived at a hotel within the hour and Loki along with two men, escorted me to a room.

"You have a few hours to be ready. There is a dress you will find inside your room that you need to wear." Loki said, before leaving.

I slowly opened the door as I noticed the two men who followed us up here weren't going anywhere.

As I walked in, I noticed a balcony and looked outside. Of course I am stuck up on the top floor.

There is no way I am getting out of here.

I sighed before walking to the bathroom. I started the water and felt comfort in the steam as it began to rise in the bathroom. As I began to unbutton my shirt, I noticed my appearance.

Two black circles had began to form around my eyes. My tan skin looked disgustingly pale and my hair lay limp against my face and shoulders, going down my back. My blue eyes had absolute no shine to them as they usually would. I could tell this is my body's way of telling me I am drained.

I quickly looked away and got into the shower. The warm water piercing my skin.

I took a long one, or as long as I possibly could before I began to feel the hot water go out.

I wrapped the white robe around me and walked to the room. I opened the closet door to find a beautiful white long dress hanging up. The top was a beautiful sparkly white hat that would hang off my shoulders. The rest flowed down past my feet.

I pinned my hair back and quickly made my way to the front room, sitting down.

I waited for what felt like forever. I wish I had my phone. If only I could call someone.

A few minutes past before a soft knock filled my ears. I quickly shot up and walked to the door. I opened it to find Loki. He was in a suit. He held out his arm to me and I hesitated before taking it. We went down to the lobby and got into the car that was waiting for us.

Do whatever he says or wants, Aurora. Help will come, I kept telling myself.

I watched as we approached a plaza. I could see men and women dressed in their best, entering. They were laughing and holding drinks.

We entered through a back way. I clutched Loki's arm as we walked down many stairs. I have to play along to stay alive I keep telling myself.

We got to the bottom of the stairs and a security guard came towards us, but Loki hit him in the face with his scepter and let go of me and ran towards a man. I watched him pin the man to a table in the middle of the room. He took something out of his pocket and stabbed the man with it.

I gasped in horror. People began screaming and running, trying to find the nearest exit. This is my chance.

I tried running from them, but Loki grabbed my arm and all of a sudden he had armor all around him, he was no longer in a suit. We walked outside and sirens were wailing, trying to get to the plaza as fast as they could.

"Loki!" I yelled, trying to get him to let me go.

"Kneel before me." He said, but people kept running and screaming.

Suddenly, Loki wasn't next to me anymore. He was everywhere.

"I said kneel!" Loki yelled and then reappeared at my side.

"Loki, stop. Let these people go." I said, I don't want to watch anymore people die.

Loki ignored me as he yelled "Kneel!" Again. People looked at him with panic and fear written all over their faces, before they began to kneel.

I stayed standing behind him.

"Is this not simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity, that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel." Loki said, walking through the crowd of people.

I watched as an older man stood up.

"Not to men like you." He said. I quickly walked over to Loki.

"Please, Loki. Let them go." I whispered as I approached his side.

"There are no men like me." Loki said.

"There are always men like you." The old man said.

"Look to your elder people." Loki said, as he lifted up his scepter.

I know what he is going to do. I seen this just yesterday when he came to get the Tesseract. He is going to kill this man.

"Let him be an example." Loki said.

"No!" I yelled and hit Loki's arm, messing up his target. As I did this, a man jumped out the sky. He was covered in red, white and blue. Carrying a shield.

Loki grabbed me and threw me behind him. People gasped, but were too afraid to move.

"You know the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing before everyone else, we ended up disagreeing." The man said.

"The soldier. The man out of time." Loki said with disgust.

"I'm not the one who's out of time." Captain America said. A hovercraft appeared over us.

"Loki, drop the weapon and stand down." I heard Natasha's voice.

I felt so much better hearing her voice. He shot at the hovercraft but she was able to turn it away. Captain America threw his shield and it flew right over my head and hit Loki.

Loki and Captain America began fighting. Everyone was running and screaming, but I kept looking at those two fighting. I saw Captain America on the ground and Loki with the scepter on his head. No, he can't be turned too.

I ran towards them.

"Kneel." I heard Loki whisper.

I ran with full force and tackled Loki. He pushed me off of him and gave me a confused look. He pinned my wrists, looking at me with fear in his eyes.

"Andra, I am doing this for us. For you."

Before I could question him, Captain America, pulled him off and he and Loki began fighting all over again.

I watched them as I was still on the ground. Too afraid to move. Andra? Who is that?

I heard rock music fill the air and looked up. I saw my Uncle come down. He shot at Loki and flew over to me, picking me up.

As I clutched onto my Uncle, he turned to Loki.

"Make your move, Reindeer Games. But touch my niece again and it'll be your last move." Stark said and Captain America ran to us.

Loki put his hands up in surrender.

"Good move." Stark said.

"Mr. Stark." Captain America said.

"Captain." Stark said back, before looking at me.

"Miss Aurora." He said.

"Thank goodness you finally came." I said, breathing a sigh of relief.
