~Chapter 32~
a/n: can we get to 100 comments?? (long chapter, heads up) x
RISSA'S POV:
"Harry!" I screamed, as a single gunshot was fired.
I felt my world crumbling beneath my feet as I watched Harry jump in between the gun and Zayn. He fell to the cement and I watched in complete horror as his crisp, white dress shirt was starting to get stained with the strong crimson colour of blood.
The surroundings were a blur as my eyes only focused on him. I went into a flashback of all of those moments that we shared. All of those times that I should've kissed him and taken a chance. All of those times that I should've held him in my arms. All of those times that I should've told him that I loved him.
He clenched his jaw in pain, his eyes screwed shut. The tears streamed down my face and I felt my body trembling. But when Harry opened his pale green eyes and looked at me, I lost the small sliver of sanity I was holding onto.
"Harry!" I cried out, running towards his body.
I was cut short as a pair of arms stopped me from getting any closer. The arms were wrapped tightly around me. I let out a desperate cry, my eyes never leaving Harry. My salty tears mixed with the rain, just as Harry's dark red blood mixed with the rain.
"Let me go!" I yelled, hitting the arms holding me back. "Harry!"
Andrew smirked at what was happening and I mustered the most deadliest glare I could and stared right at him. I've never wanted a person dead so badly. He was a waste of a person.
"You are a sick person! You just want peoples lives to be ruined!" I yelled as the mysterious pair of arms pulled me away. "You deserve to die!"
"Rissa, leave!" Harry spoke boldly, clenching onto his chest with a bloody hand. My heart ached and I felt myself shudder.
"Harry, please!" I cried in despair. "Why couldn't you take me instead?!" I felt fiery as I looked at Andrew, who smirked and twirled the gun on his index. He eyed me and I watched as he gripped the gun.
"Rissa!" Harry yelled, his eyes glazed with fear. "Leave right now!"
"No, Harry!" I choked out, while my throat tightened. "Please! I can't leave you!"
"Take her away!" Zayn spoke, but my eyes didn't leave Harry's.
"Go! Take her!"
"Do it!"
There were so many voices and I felt overwhelmed, but I wasn't going to leave Harry. His deep green eyes were focused solely on me, and although he was in pain, he was still calm and collected. Throughout all of the noises, only one voice spoke to me.
"Ris," Harry spoke lowly, his emerald eyes watching me. "Go."
Just as I was about to protest, I felt something press over my nose and mouth, making me gasp. I accidentally inhaled the substance and everything went blurry. I struggled to stay awake but I lost the fight and I felt myself pass out.
HARRY'S POV:
I groaned in pain, but I couldn't stop staring at Rissa. I felt absolutely horrible for putting Rissa through this misery, and all I wanted to do was run away with her. But I couldn't let Zayn die in front of my eyes. We grew up together.
I was pulled out of my trance as I felt a surge of pain, where I was shot. I let out a low groan again, and took a deep breath in, while trying to apply pressure to my wound, without passing out.
"Rissa! Leave!" I tried my best to strain out a strong voice.
"Harry, please!" She cried, her body shaking, as one of Zayn's men held her back. He had managed to text him for help beforehand, when Rissa was in Andrew's grip. "Why couldn't you take me instead?!" She spat, looking at Andrew with so much hatred that I thought that one person couldn't obtain.
I tried to stay relaxed but I felt myself swaying in and out of consciousness. Everything was starting to spin. I screwed my eyes shut, and took a deep breath while waiting for the pain to subside.
I looked at Andrew, and for the first time since I was shot, I felt worried. Andrew smirked sinisterly at Rissa and stopped twirling the gun, gripping it tightly in his grubby hand.
Oh no, I know what his intentions are.
"Rissa," I yelled, trying to sound strong. "Leave right now!"
"No, Harry! Please! I can't leave you!" She cried, with tears streaming down her cheeks.
I need her to leave urgently. If she doesn't listen, she might get hurt.
There were so many voices talking around us. Zayn was commanding his man to take her and I couldn't help but stare.
She was so beautiful. All I wanted to do was wipe her tears away. Her tear-stained face was drawn into sadness and I tried so hard to get her to leave. She can't stay.
My mind flashed back to those times that we spent together, laughing and enjoying each others presence. I should've told her my feelings earlier. If I did, maybe things would be different now. Maybe this moment, I wouldn't be shot and she wouldn't be hurt.
I heard the pistol click and I felt my eyes widen. She needs to leave right now.
"Ris," I spoke calmly, trying not go sound worried. "Go."
With that, the man put a fabric over her face and within seconds, her body fell limp in his arms. I kept staring as the man quickly put her in an SUV, while Zayn distracted Andrew.
"Andrew-" Zayn was cut short as Andrew let out a shout.
"Hey!" He yelled when he realized that Rissa was in the car. He pulled the trigger and multiple gunshots rang in thw dark alley, as the car sped away, unharmed.
And in that moment, I let out a heavy sigh. I was relieved that Rissa was safe, but I was scared. I wasn't scared about the circumstances that I was in, rather I was scared that I might never see Rissa again. That might have been the last time I saw her, and I felt my breathing get shorter.
I closed my eyes and tried to remember every single beautiful thing about her, to forget about the pain in my body. She always makes my pain go away. Maybe the thought of her will make my pain go away this time. I hope she won't ever forget me.
I let out another groan as my surroundings spun. I looked at Zayn for help, and he looked down at me with concern.
"Hang in there, mate," Zayn whispered.
I nodded, as my head fell back on the cement and I clenched my chest in pain. Yet, I couldn't stop thinking about her.
"Andrew," Zayn spoke lowly, before walking closer to him. "I don't give a fûck if you shoot me, but I can't tolerate you hurting any of my mates." He spat those harsh words and I felt my eyes widen as I managed to catch a glimpse of Zayn pulling out a gun from the waistband of his dress pants.
"Zayn-" Andrew was cut short as Zayn spoke.
"Fúck you, Andrew. I hope you burn in hell," Zayn spat.
Bang
Andrew collapsed to the ground with a thud and the blood seeped out of the middle of his forehead, where he was shot. I felt the room spin again. I let out a thick groan as pain surged through me once again, this one worse than the others. Before I could ponder about how Zayn got the gun and Andrew, I had passed into oblivion and everything went dark, as my body went numb.
