They kept fighting until Deidara ended up straddling Sasori on the floor. Sasori looked up at him in surprise, asking softly, "Do I really mean that much to you, Deidara?"
Deidara leaned in to Sasori's ear, slowly. Sasori began to feel something in his chest, almost like something had quickly stabbed him in the heart. His eyes widened, feeling his breath get cut off when their faces were only centimeters apart.
His cheek brushed Sasori's, sending a wave of nervousness down his spine. He could feel Deidara's hot breath against his ear, making his heart skip a few beats. What was this feeling? He had been feeling something like this ever since Deidara had kissed him.
That kiss.. the day Deidara did so, Sasori got mad to try and hide his feelings.
Every time he thought of that, he secretly wanted Deidara to do it again, but for real. To kiss him, not for Kyo, but just for him. He wanted Deidara to love him. Sometimes he would go up to the roof, and wonder why it was that he felt this way for the brat.
"You're like my brother, hm. Annoying sometimes, but one that I would die without. You're everything to me, so please stay."
Sasori's heart sank. A brother, huh? That's what he thought of him as? Is.. that all? He breathed out quickly.
"O-okay, if you really do feel that way. And.. I'm kind of.. satisfied.. that you accept my existence. That is enough for me to want to stay." He cursed at himself inwardly for stuttering. He never stutters! Get a hold of yourself, Sasori.
Kyo whispered something to Obito, who burst out laughing. SasoDei.. As Deidara shouted at them, he began to feel himself heating up.
Kyo noticed this immediately, and stopped laughing at them. She pinched Obito's arm, to get him to stop. He cleared his throat, continuing.
"We're glad everyone could stay. We will be leaving tonight."
As everyone began clearing the room, only Sasori and Kyo remained. He was still on the floor, his face slightly pink still.
Kyo bent down to him, whispering, "Let's go to the roof. You go there all the time when you think of him, right?"
Sasori blushed a little more at her words, and sat up. He felt his cheeks, then quickly turned away. "You can't see me like this, Kyo. It's so weak of me to be like this."
"Then let's go. You can tell me more later." Kyo grabbed Sasori's hand, and brought him up on the roof. They sat down, staring into the sunset.
Sasori played with his hands, not daring to look or speak to Kyo. She scooted closer to him, until their arms brushed up against each other.
"When did you change yourself back to a human?" Kyo asked lowly, staring straight ahead.
Sasori's eyes widened a little. "How.. did you know?"
"You keep claiming to be a puppet with no emotion, but after watching you for a while, I would say that wasn't the case. You're kind, even though you don't want to show it. Even Deidara has been suspecting lately that you haven't been yourself."
They both were silent for a little bit. Sasori looked down, focusing solely on his hands for the moment. He finally looked up, at Kyo.
"I changed right when you came here to live with us," He finally answered. Looking deeper into her eyes, he went on. "You reminded me so much of her. She was like my little sister, and when she went, I felt like a little piece of me had floated off into the abyss."
She looked up at him, her cheeks flushing pink. "How old are you now?"
"I made myself twenty two, like she would be right now." She nodded in understanding.
"And now, as my consequence for making myself human again, I have had these stupid feelings enter me all over again."
His hands began shaking, balling up into fists. She couldn't tell what he was thinking of at the moment, his face displayed no emotion.
"I don't think he loves me, like I do about him. He even said it himself; I am like a brother to him. Nothing more."
She held his hand, and squeezed it tight. "Didn't you have a secret to tell Deidara? You told him that, and he's been excited about it ever since."
How did she know that? At this point, Sasori wasn't even surprised anymore. "You.. are really smart."
She smiled up at him. "Obito said something similar! Anyway, I think you should tell him then. That is your secret, isn't it?" Sasori felt like his heart had stopped for a moment.
"T-tell him..?" He again inwardly cursed at himself for stuttering.
"Yes. I'm sure.. that he will not find it too strange.. he might in fact, feel.." She stopped herself, and chuckled nervously. "Well, good luck anyway." She began to get up, when Sasori held onto her hand tighter.
"Thank you, Kyo. For.. talking to me about this. I suppose that it is human nature to want to tell someone, but I didn't think I could trust anyone enough to tell them about it."
She shrugged, walking away. "No problem. I'm sure you will not regret expressing your feelings to him, anyway."
Sasori took a deep breath, and got up, going inside after her. He walked down the hall, and stopped by his room. He held his breath as he knocked lightly on the door three times.
Soon Deidara's head popped out, looking at him. He immediately grinned at Sasori's presence. "Hi, Danna! Come in, I was just finishing my art in here, I hope you don't mind, un."
Sasori nervously walked in, observing every move that Deidara made.
"Love me that much?" Deidara said in a teasing manner, noticing how Sasori was staring at him. Sasori immediately went red in the face, turning away quickly.
Deidara looked at him strangely. "Your face is red. Are you all right?" He nodded, flustered.
Deidara nodded to himself in approval as he brought out his most recent creation, a butterfly. He walked over to his bed, and sat down, criss-crossing his legs. He looked up at Sasori, who sat next to him on the bed to watch.
"What are you doing, Danna?"
"..Watching.."
Deidara felt a little uncomfortable working under Sasori's stare, which was like that of an "all seeing eye".
"Why, hm? You hate everything that isn't eternal."
"That's not exactly true."
Deidara did not like being corrected like this, especially from his rival in art. He growled a little. "Then why don't you go work on your blushing problem over there?"
Sasori stared at him. Did he find out? No, he remembered. We were talking about how my face used to go red sometimes, and how I told him I would fix it.
As Sasori began to think about this through his head, Deidara elbowed him in his side. "Just go away from me, I hate your staring, hm."
"That actually hurt, brat.." Sasori whispered.
Deidara didn't hear him. Sasori scooted closer to him. "But I like seeing you work." The words flew out of his mouth faster than he could comprehend what he was saying. He could feel his heart bumping faster than ever at his mistake.
Deidara looked at him. "You do?" He turned excitedly at his creation, a simple butterfly, and then lost his confidence all at once.
"It's only a butterfly, though. It doesn't have a very long lifespan, which I know you wouldn't like about it, un. I was planning on giving it to you, actually."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Well.. thank you for making this for me." Deidara looked at him in surprise, as he slowly placed the butterfly into Sasori's hands.
Sasori felt happy that Deidara had made something for him. He would make sure it lasted forever.
"So.." Sasori knew that this time would come, and he felt like his heart had jumped to his throat as he asked, "Do you really want to know my secret?"
Deidara's eyes shined as a look of excitement displayed on his face. "Yes, I do, hm!"
Sasori began to lean in on his face, causing a deep blush to cross Deidara's face. He instead leaned over to his ear, whispering, "Do you really?"
Deidara took a deep breath. He couldn't believe that he almost thought his Danna would kiss him. That was what he had fantasized about since he met him, anyway. His red hair, his cute brown eyes. That soft voice of his.
When he kissed Sasori, he felt like he was on top of the world. Even so, it was a kiss that was obviously not appreciated by Sasori himself.
Sasori's body acted all on its own as he quickly connected his lips with Deidara's. The latter's eyes widened, but soon closed as he began to kiss back.
Sasori pulled away, blushing a little. "I've never had the courage to do this until now. I love you, Deidara."
Deidara kissed him again, whispering, "I love you, too. I didn't think a puppet like you would ever love me back, though, hm."
"You're right. But I am not a puppet any longer."
"You're human?"
"Yep. Twenty two years old, for two reasons. One, so I was the same as Taki. Two," he leaned in, pecking Deidara on the lips.
"So I could finally be older than you. But just enough where it seems right."
Deidara situated himself to where he was sitting in Sasori's lap, facing him.
"I never thought I would really get to kiss you like this, Sasori."
Sasori. He called him his real name. Sasori smirked, as he replied, "Me neither. But we did, and we still can. After all,"
He kissed him once again, not able to control himself from doing so. His lips refused to leave Deidara's, who in turn kissed back as long as his breath would allow. Even when his breath was gone, he still kissed him.
Sasori took a deep breath after pulling away. "After all," he continued, "our love is eternal."
