Chapter two: Changes

It's been months since I read the first book and just today I recognized that the son's name is Masahiko NOT Akihiko.  So sorry for the confusion.

Also, I'm going to introduce the drama here because I have so many ideas it's not even funny. Plus their daily life isn't interesting anyway.

That was months ago and now Mihawk won't even come near me, never mind touch me. Hell, we don't even sleep in the same room unless Masahiko is there which is really starting to piss me off.  Noticing the time, I stood up from the couch and set down my book.

"I better be going to bed." I hummed walking down the corridor that led to the room that the swordsman and I shared. Cautiously, I opened the mahogany door and sighed when I saw Mihawk lying next to a sleeping Masahiko.

His hawk-like eyes seemed to glow in the dark as he looked me over before he simply pulled the boy closer to him preventing me from lying beside him.

Quietly, I climbed in next to the boy and slapped the swordsman's hands away so that I could embrace my child alone.

"Asshole." I muttered nuzzling into the little noirette's neck.

The next morning I woke up just as the sun began to shine through the window. Even though I was awake, I felt no need to get up and softly stroked (y/n)'s arm which was wrapped around our child.

She was most definitely a treasure, but for some reason, I didn't see her as my treasure anymore. Her touch which once to sent shivers up my spine didn't so much as make me flinch. And every time I looked at her, I could never get the needy sensation that I once had. It was almost as if she was just another woman rather than the one I loved. With a sigh, I softly shook her awake.

"No." She moaned groggily.

"It's ten in the morning, you need to wake up." A huff left her lips as she sat up, making sure to be careful of the sleeping Masahiko.

"Will you join me then?" She offered stretching slowly. I mulled over her words wondering whether or not I should accept it until I noticed something.

My eyes darted to the sleeping noirette next to me who's hair was messily spread over the pillow.

"We both know why I can't do that." the only response I got from her was a glare as she picked out a loose flowing dress to wear and walked into the bathroom to get ready for the day.

While it took a not longer than I'd hoped, breakfast was ready and everyone was at the table including Miko.

The little furball sat on a high chair next to me while eating his few slices of woof loaf that I had made especially for him. Ever since I noticed the dejected look on his face during meal time, I decided to try some new recipes for him and so far they were a success.

As the four of us ate an awkward silence filled the air causing Masahiko to look at me with eyes that practically yelled 'say something'. Reading his message loud and clear I spoke.

"So Mihawk, I got a call the other day and I think I should make you aware of it." The swordsman across from me looked up in curiosity.

"We're going to have a guest in a few minutes, and they say they're excited to see you."  A cruel smile crossed mine and Miko's lips but Masahiko looked clueless.

"Who?" He asked while his head slightly to the right causing his appearance to look even cuter.

"Masa, don't act like you don't know." And just like that the little boy was grinning, leaving Mihawk as the only one who didn't know what was going on.

"(Y/n) who's coming here exactly?"

"(N/n)!! Where are you?!" The large double doors that lead to the dining room, slammed open to reveal a certain redhead and his crew.

"Uncle Shanks!"

"Shanks!" Both Masahiko and I ran towards the pirate and enveloped him in a hug.  It had been two years since we'd seen the jovial pirate and he was finally back.

"Aww, you missed me!" He chuckled and placed his nephew on his shoulder before hugging me and lifting me off the floor.

"Why are you here?" Groaned the swordsman who didn't even take notice to shanks' grip on me.

"Oh?" Shanks gave me a look that showed just how obvious Mihawk and I's withdrawal was. "Are you two ok?" I shook my head not wanting to talk about it and grabbed Mihawk's hand.

"I want to talk to you in private." He gave a slight nod and followed me out of the dining room until we reached our bedroom. Instantly I took hold of the collar on his loose black shirt and pinned him to the wall.

"Mi Paloma now is not the time to try and seduce me."

"But I miss you." I purred while pressing my chest against him. There was a small pout on his lips and I could tell that even though he wanted to give into my charm he refused to do so since he knew that I had other reasons for dragging him where I did.

"Fine, I'll stop beating around the bush. Mihawk, what's pissing you off now?" The man's bright gold eyes narrowed at me for a split second before looking away.

"You were so excited to see me when you first came home but now you won't even entertain my interests." I continued, the worry becoming evident in my voice.

"You shouldn't think much of it, I just came back after all."

"That's bull and you know it. It's literally been months since you last left us. What's wrong? Lately, you've only been affectionate to Masahiko and Miko. Did I do something?"

"No, Mi Paloma you're fine, just leave it be."

"This morning was the first time you've touched me in two months and that was just because you wanted me to wake up."

"(Y/n), I told you to leave it alone!" Startled by his tone, I drew one of my knives from the sheath in my bra and got into a defensive position.

I glared down at my wife but my look softened when I saw the fear in her eyes. She seemed hesitant to attack but it was clear that she would if she had to. To be honest, she reminded me of a wolf, she could be loving but do something out of term and she'd turn on you.

"Mi Paloma, I'm tired, right now really isn't the time." I said while reaching out to touch her cheek but she flinched away.

"Don't touch me if you don't mean it." the (h/c)-ette stared at me for a bit longer until she heard her name being called and disappeared down the hall.
