What is your name?
My name is Jacelyne but since it's super complicated, so I prefer to be called Jace.
Examples of your work:
Why did you join wattpad?
I actually joined Wattpad around 5 years ago I think. I actually created Wattpad just to read fanfictions lol. Seriously, just forget about all of that. It was a pretty cringey phase for me.
How long have you been making graphics for?
Two and a half years, I think. Although most of the first year into it, it was just me messing around Photoshop without making any actual decent graphics. Plus another 6 months of hiatus.
How did you get into graphic designing?
Around 2-3 years ago, I pick graphic design as my extracurricular activities, out of the blue. Why did I do that? Simple. Because I can't do any sports, I can't cook or knit for the life of me, I'm too shy for drama club. I thought it was a huge mistake but then it actually become pretty fun and amazing. And since I was pretty active around Wattpad, you know reading fanfictions and all that, I came by this account called GraphicSociety, which inspires me more to actually be serious in graphic designing. Thus my journey began. This is one of the very first manip cover i ever make.
What type of graphics do you make, and which do you prefer?
I make covers, gif banners, banners and character aesthetic. Sometimes when I have inspiration I try to make photomanipulation and vectors. I prefer making covers and character aesthetic because they're fun to make.
What is your favourite part of graphic making?
My favourite part is the process of graphic making itself. I can see how from a blank sheet in Photoshop, I get to create something based on my imagination. There's something beautiful in that.
How long does it usually take you to make a graphic?
It varies based on my mood, creativity, and how complicated the graphic is. But usually it takes me like 2 days to 1 week.
What program(s) do you use for making your graphics?
I use Photoshop mainly. But sometimes I also use Illustrator.
Where do you get your inspiration from/who inspires you?
I get my inspirations from book covers and DeviantArt. As for who inspires me, a lot :)
Do you have any tips for aspiring graphic designers?
There's this old saying, "Practice makes perfect" and you know what, it is true. Keep practicing and you'll see the differences in your graphic. And please don't stick to your comfort zone. Always try something new. And lastly, never give up and good luck!
