⬤ How was your experience of judging in the Just One Day Awards?

If I'm being honest it was good. I'm not just saying this to be nice but I've reasons as well.

I've been a judge before this award book. I had to cancel a few of them since they didn't continue their award. I got to be a proper judge just once before this and this is my second time.

Now why am I mentioning this? It's because consistency is the key that a lot of award book lacks.

Just imagine yourself entering a new award book hoping you'll get to win. Then turn out you forgot about them because even though it's been a year since it started they never really wrap up.

So my point here is why bother even starting when you aren't going to keep up with it?

What I like about this book is you can see that the host Rei and my friend are dedicated and didn't start this out on a whim. It's still ongoing but she has the intention of completing as well and not to leave the participants on hold.

So I like that about this award.

I also got to read some amazing books. The stories are all so different from one another and each has their unique plot. I just love that.

⬤ What's your take on healthy awards or competition?

I don't know how many people will agree with me, but what I'm about to say is what I believe in reality.

A healthy Award should be where you don't feel like you aren't qualified enough to apply because they set high standards.

Also, the hosts and the judges, if they find a participant not to their liking or have a personal grudge, I'd say they should judge and host with an open mind forgetting all their past conflicts.

Because that person came with the hope to be reviewed. To know what they can do to improve.

A healthy competition, at least in my opinion isn't actually about competition. Doesn't that make sense? Let me explain.

So let's talk about me. Nope, I'm not going to flex about myself-

Even if I join an Award I don't exactly have high hopes or sulk thinking I'm not going to win. Instead, I just like to go with the flow and enjoy being a participant.

What I believe is participation should be fun and not stressful. I am not saying you shouldn't take it seriously. You can and you should. But don't take it so seriously that it's causing you stress or demotivation.

Even if you don't win you should be happy for at least getting to participate and getting to experience the moment. Even if a participant that won isn't someone you thought should win don't hold grudges. I mean what's the point even? If they won there should be reasons behind it as well.

Another thing is even if you didn't win don't feel as though you can't write well or you aren't worthy enough. Everyone is worthy. But in a competition, you can't make everyone a winner, right?

Everyone is good but the one who stands out the most among all get's the shine they deserve. So don't let their success defeat you and demotivate you. Don't feel bad thinking you aren't as good as them.

Instead, take inspiration and try to learn how you can stand out and what was their reason to stand out.

So in short to keep it healthy don't envy others, take inspiration, be happy with what you've got, and don't let the competition get on your head to the point it affects your daily life and mood.

⬤ What was the first book you liked after you joined Wattpad? And why?

Huh, now I don't remember which was my first favorite story but I do remember what was my first book that I read. Of course, I'll still talk about my favorite but I'd like to talk a bit about the first book that I read.

So the first book that I read was by RosetheK and the book was The annoying sugar daddy.

I won't say it was the most perfect book but since my suggestions were based on the tags that I chose and not on what I read. Since I was new all the suggestions were related to mafias, gangsters, and vampires.

I remember the first book that I read (Not this book) had a line that I didn't get but everyone in the comments was trolling. I think it was a Taekook book. I wasn't a shipper so I didn't continue reading since I felt uncomfortable but the line was, "Jungkook pass away." It makes me laugh now but since my English wasn't that good I didn't know what was wrong.

I think the author meant, "Jungkook passed by Taehyung." But they made it sound like Jungkook had his demise then and there XD

Anyway back to the book, it was very funny and I enjoyed it. But excluding the mature parts. They traumatized me for real-

Now I'm mentioning this book because this book inspired me to write on Wattpad but I'll discuss this in the latter question.

Now my favorite book, it's still my favorite. It's the best book I've read.

So I'm a huge fan of the horror and thriller genre. It never fails to amaze me and this is how I came across this book.

It's Truth or Dares by babymochi101. I've never read a book as amazing as this. Nor have I ever read such came a unique plot before. I won't give spoilers because I want you to go read it! But I'll give a summary. I don't remember it all that well so I could be wrong with some details.

Y/n is a high school student and I think Jungkook is her enemy. They had to go to a summer camp. She didn't want to go but her mother pushed her I assume. Her classmates also went there.

Yoongi was their host and they had some bizarre rules that should be strictly followed. They each night take students with them for some activities by bus. They take them to a building.

In her case along with her, BTS and BLACKPINK also went. And there comes the truth. They were thrown into a game of death. Yoongi took them to the top of the building and left them all by themselves.

They needed to get out of the building safely. But it isn't as easy as it seems. In between they've to take truth or dare. The question "Truth or Dare" will be written on the wall with the name of one of the students that were there. And they've to choose between one of those. Based on their choice they'll be asked questions or will be given tasks. And they can only get out of the building if they can answer or full fill their tasks.

Now do they all survive? Read it to find out!

No seriously read it. It's good! I also made some good theories in the comments that were appreciated by the readers haha. Maybe you can also check them out~

⬤ What inspired you to begin writing?

Well, my story is a bit strange and I don't think there's any other person who can relate to this. So I started writing even before I knew who BTS was or what even fanfiction is.

I used to write short stories mostly having morals in the end. Then I got to know about BTS in 2019 but didn't take an interest until 2020.

People say they fell in love with their looks but I fell in love with their choreography. I was obsessed with Boy With Luv's choreography and wanted to learn it so badly. I did end up learning ;)

So even then I didn't know what fanfiction was. I found out about it because of my sister. Bro was watching BTS fanfiction and I didn't know. And guess what? She isn't even a fan-

She was watching a Yoongi ff and I asked what it was. She explained to me and I quickly searched up the channel. Of course, I didn't know that ff writers are underrated so I wasn't sure why I couldn't find the author.

Anyway, I started watching ffs and thought it could open a door for me to write. Because of this, I don't need original characters. And I posted my first video on Youtube in 2020. On Youtube, I had a problem with my first channel so I had to leave it.

Back then I was unmotivated and didn't feel like making videos any longer. So I took a break and then found out about Wattpad. I opened an account and though I wasn't used to the way these writers write I still decided to try.

There I came across the first ever book that I complete. It was The annoying sugar daddy. After reading that book I had this sudden urge to write a sugar daddy/baby ff lol.

After reading that night I came up with a rough idea about how the story will start and soon I posted my first-ever book Not Your Sugar Baby. Not to mention it's not the best story since it was totally unplanned and highly inspired by The annoying sugar daddy book. Welp, it was a heck of a journey. That book had me pick up a lot of bad writing habits.

But it's good enough that I've learned from my mistakes. Another good thing that happened was after I started writing I started another channel and now I have a good amount of subscribers there with a lot of supporters.

I probably would've quit altogether if I didn't start writing here. So I'm grateful :)

⬤ What suggestions would you give the authors from your writing journey?

I am not the best writer out there since I just noticed and like though I've been writing for almost 4 years I realized that, "Heck yeah you're writing and what you're writing isn't reaching its audience because there are certain stuff you're doing wrong!"

Yup, I don't know how to explain what I mean-

But there are things I'd like to mention that I learned from my mistakes and others.

𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬: Now by writing habits I mean the way you write your story. Yes, writing style. It's a bit complicated to explain but when I was writing Not Your Sugar Baby, my first ever book I had a lot of bad writing habits.

My writing style wasn't even originally mine. I copied it from another author. I'm not saying the author isn't a good writer. She is but in my opinion, the writing style that specific book had wasn't the best besides it had so many problems.

I picked bad writing habits such as, not adding punctuation and adding unnecessarily huge spaces for no reason. I didn't describe their looks or what they were wearing. I didn't describe their environment.

So it's better to choose a writer with a good writing style for starters. But don't stick to their writing style of course. In the course of learning you can also explore your writing style. Like I did.

Now my writing style is more polished though I still lack in some aspects it won't be a pain to the eyes.

𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐧: Now this is important. Don't post because you have to. Post because you want to.

In my journey, I came to a point where I was obsessed with the thought of success and I have no shame admitting because I learned a lot through that.

Since I was writing because I 'have to' because I need to get reach and followers I was slowly losing interest in writing. The writing was frustrating to me. I even wanted to quit.

Though surprising enough I started writing because I enjoyed it and whenever I was stressed out writing helped me. But now the same writing was the cause of my stress.

That's why write for fun. Don't care about success or how many reads you're getting. Everyone has their audience. Maybe their audience found them a bit earlier but that doesn't mean yours won't come to you.

When the right time comes they'll find you.

𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: Now about this, I explained a lot in my second point so I'll keep it straight. Don't run after success. If you keep chasing it it'll just keep running away from you.

Instead, just wait patiently while enjoying writing. And when the time comes it'll reach you.

𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: Now this is important, especially to me. I am a bit of a versatile person so I like planning out everything.

Don't start/post a story out of whim. Because trust me that's how Not Your Sugar Baby started and it wasn't good-

Before posting plan out everything. The plot, how it'll continue, and how it's going to end.

A lot of writers start just after thinking about the first half and have no idea how they're going to complete the book or hows the story is even supposed to continue. So it's better to plan out the whole story before posting so that you don't have writer's block.

Even I was a victim of it. I started unplanned, the first 30 chapters were totally whatever and I got stuck in writer's block not knowing what to write after or even how to end the story.

So I took a break, planned out the other half, and then continued posting. Now because I didn't plan out, the first half just sounds cringy but the other half is far better.

So yes planning is important.

𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬: I don't know how many people do this but try to write every story idea that you get. In a paper, in your notes, I don't care but just write them down.

Even if you don't want to write them now, keep them for later. Even if you don't have a well-planned plot line for them STILL keep them for later.

Because even if you aren't going to write it now you are going to later and by then maybe you can turn that idea even better.

Also, let's say you completed a story of yours successfully but don't know what to write next, and turned out that the idea that you had in mind that you thought you won't forget did end up forgetting it.

So it's good to write down the ideas and all the details you've thought about. Don't miss a single detail. Or else you'll regret this later. Speaking from experience :)

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: Now what do I mean by this? I mean don't just post because you want to.

Now you may ask but you just said, "Write because you want to."

Yes, I do mean it but in this case what I mean is to post only if you are sure that you want to continue the book and not end up abandoning it for days, months, or even years. Don't keep your readers hanging.

Give them what they're here for.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝: This is important because it seems a lot of new writers don't reread the chapters they've written. But remember that rereading will help you find out mistakes that you may have overlooked the first time.

𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝: This is a common thing and everyone knows this already which is the more you'll read the more you'll improve.

Even if you feel that you've reached a point where you think you don't need any more improvement you can still read for other things such as unique writing styles and learn new words. Maybe learn new perspectives as well.

With this unique writing style, you can learn more about different writing styles and maybe end up creating a unique writing style of yours!

I am sorry if I said too much and you felt bored reading. I just pointed out everything that I learned throughout my writing journey.

Thank you all for reading. I know we all can achieve our dreams and will achieve them. Have a happy writing journey.
